Chapter 139 - Chapter 138: Don’t You Vampires Like to Bite Necks?

"Seeing that you're Mo Fan's classmate, I'll give you a 50% discount—fifty million!"

"..."

Although Zhao Manyan no longer felt the urge to hit someone, he suddenly wanted to curse!

"You also know that Mo Fan and I are classmates, both from little Bo City. It wasn't easy for us to reach our current level. After all, both the school and the military only just promised us some rewards..." Song Jie said with difficulty.

"I'll knock off another ten million for you. Forty million. Can't go any lower."

"..."

Zhao Manyan still remained silent. Forty million was still too much for him...

Song Jie glanced at Mo Fan and shook his head. "Mo Fan, your friend isn't very capable, is he? He can't even come up with such a small amount."

Being mocked right to his face, Zhao Manyan was furious. Couldn't he at least say that behind his back?! Damn it!

Mo Fan gave a wry smile. Both sides were his friends, so he couldn't take sides.

"Thirty-five million. That's my bottom line. Any less, and they'll be barging in here soon," Song Jie urged, giving Mo Fan a look.

Mo Fan said, "Brother Jie has already lowered it this much. This is a golden opportunity—you won't get another one!"

Zhao Manyan's molars were practically ground to dust. After a long pause, he finally clenched his fists and said, "Deal!"

Song Jie smiled faintly, patted Zhao Manyan on the shoulder, and said, "From now on, we're friends!"

"You guys are really ruthless!" Zhao Manyan cursed.

Mo Fan chuckled. "Don't be angry. This is the outcome you wanted, isn't it?"

Zhao Manyan glared at Mo Fan, wanting to shout, 'You're not a good person either!'

But he swallowed his words.

Soon after, the three of them left the area, meeting up with Lingling and the others.

"Are you all okay?" Lingling asked.

"We're fine."

The leading man stepped forward. "Where is the Scaled Hide Demon Mother?"

"It's inside," Song Jie replied.

That group immediately went into the control area of the lift platform.

Academician Li soon came out and asked, "Who killed the Scaled Hide Demon Mother?"

Song Jie and Mo Fan both looked at Zhao Manyan. Although his molars were about to shatter, Zhao Manyan still stepped forward.

Lingling frowned slightly. She clearly remembered Mo Fan saying that it was Song Jie who had killed the Scaled Hide Demon Mother.

However, when she turned toward him, Song Jie made a subtle shushing gesture, signaling her not to speak.

After Song Jie, Mo Fan, and Lingling left the stadium, the rest of the cleanup was handled by the officials.

"Mo Fan, your friend's payment will be up to you. We'll split the money evenly among the three of us," Song Jie said.

They had all contributed to the mission, so he didn't intend to take all the profit himself.

"I will," Mo Fan nodded. He had contributed the least, so he was fine with any share he got.

"Oh, and that Essence Orb we obtained from this commission," Song Jie added. "I'll sell it and split the money evenly."

"Brother Jie, following you is truly the wisest choice I've ever made!" Mo Fan said with teary eyes.

"Alright, we're all tired. Let's head back and rest," Song Jie said.

After Mo Fan left, Lingling looked at Song Jie. "Are you really that desperate for money?"

"Of course," Song Jie replied. "Both of my elements might break through to the Advanced Level soon, and I'll need a Galaxy Vein. You know how much those cost—so yeah, I need a lot of money."

Lingling nodded in understanding.

"You're a Seven-Star Hunter Master," Song Jie said with a mischievous smile. "You must've saved up quite a bit of pocket money, right?"

"What are you trying to say?" Lingling eyed him warily.

"Why don't you be my sugar mommy? I can wait for you to grow up," Song Jie teased.

"An old ox eating young grass, you wish!!" Lingling shot back.

Song Jie grinned. "Look how handsome I am. I'll probably be even more handsome when I'm middle-aged. Isn't that worth a little investment?"

"If you're after my money, just say it. Don't dance around it," Lingling retorted.

"So you're agreeing to be my sugar mommy?"

"Get lost!"

"If that doesn't work," Song Jie continued, following her, "I can sacrifice my looks—a kiss for a million. How about it?"

Lingling ignored him completely.

"If you don't say anything, I'll take that as a yes," he teased.

"Don't come any closer!!"

Later that night, Song Jie collapsed onto his bed, utterly exhausted, and quickly fell asleep.

By the next day, it was already noon when he woke up.

He summoned Li Rui, who soon appeared before him wearing his white T-shirt, which looked like a short dress on her.

The moment Song Jie saw her, his heart skipped a beat.

She looked so pure—yet with a faint, alluring charm.

Li Rui blushed under his gaze. "Is... there something you need from me?"

Song Jie paused, then quickly collected himself. "I just wanted to ask how your recovery's going."

"It's alright. I should fully recover in about a week," Li Rui said softly.

Song Jie nodded but noticed her complexion was pale. "You don't look too good. What's wrong?"

"I..." Li Rui hesitated, then admitted, "I consumed too much of my blood essence before. Now, I might need fresh blood to replenish it..."

Song Jie raised an eyebrow. "If you bite me, will I turn into a member of the Blood Tribe too?" he joked.

Li Rui quickly shook her head. "No. Only those who undergo a ritual can become one of us."

"What if you drank a demon's blood instead? Would that help you recover faster?" he asked.

Li Rui paused. That had never occurred to her.

Even if it could work... where would they get demon blood?

"I don't know," she admitted.

"Then let's try it," Song Jie said. He didn't mind revealing his secret abilities to her—she was already part of his circle.

Li Rui's eyes widened when she saw Song Jie's body undergo Demonification.

Her cheeks flushed bright red as she suddenly realized what he was.

When Song Jie looked down, he noticed his shirt and pants had torn apart during the transformation, revealing more than intended.

"Cough, cough... wait a second."

He hurried into his room and came out wrapped in a blanket.

"Go ahead and try," he said, looking at the still-blushing Li Rui.

Li Rui nodded nervously but found it hard to move closer.

"Don't you vampires like biting necks? Then just bite mine," Song Jie said, sitting on the sofa and tilting his head slightly.

"..."

Li Rui had only ever drunk blood directly—she had never bitten a person's neck before.

Yet, when she felt the strong, rich essence pulsing from Song Jie, her body began to move on its own.

"This is my first time... I'll be gentle," Li Rui said softly, suppressing her thirst.

"..."

This time, Song Jie was the one left speechless. What kind of situation is this...?!

A moment later, a faint pain pricked his neck. Li Rui's soft red lips brushed against his skin, and he felt a strange, tingling warmth deep in his chest...
