Because Ino's life wasn't in immediate danger, Chie Mai captured her seemingly just to take revenge for being humiliated in the hospital last time.
Ino kept pretending to be unconscious, and Chie Mai didn't care about her for the time being, so Tsunade didn't rush over immediately.
When Itsuki's wooden clone arrived, guided by the chat group's location marker, Tsunade still hadn't shown up.
At this time, Mizuki had already drunk the potion that Orochimaru had created to enhance the Cursed Seal.
His body had taken on tiger-like traits, his strength surging to terrifying levels. He was overwhelming Genma Shiranui.
"Hahahaha! Do you see now? This is my power! Endless strength pouring out of me!"
Mizuki kicked Genma hard, sending him flying. He then chased him down in an instant, stomping down on his chest with his right foot. Blood spurted from Genma's mouth.
But Genma was tough. Even in this state, he didn't beg for mercy, didn't even groan in pain. He only glared at Mizuki coldly.
"So… what I hate most are you Konoha shinobi!"
Mizuki kicked him again, hurling him into a rock wall. Another mouthful of blood flew from Genma's lips.
"You always act so high and mighty, looking down on us from above. To you, people with poor talent like me are no better than ants!"
"But now the tables have turned. I've made you, the so-called 'elite,' suffer miserably at the hands of an ant. How does it feel? Tell me!"
Mizuki kicked him again and again, until Genma's body was battered and bloodied.
"Oh, how pitiful you are," Genma said weakly. He understood well—Mizuki's cruelty came from deep inferiority.
"You bastard!" Mizuki snapped, enraged at Genma's pitying gaze. He stomped on him viciously, knocking Genma unconscious.
"Stop! Please stop!"
Not far away, Tsubaki, hands tied behind her back, sat on the ground crying, begging desperately. "Please, Mizuki, it's not too late! Stop now, don't make any more mistakes!"
"Stop?" Mizuki turned, face twisted, sneering. "Why would I stop? This feels better than anything! Once I leave Konoha and join Lord Orochimaru, I'll reach even greater heights! My only mistake was not deciding sooner!"
"Look at me! This strength is something only Lord Orochimaru could give me. If I stayed in Konoha, I'd be nothing more than trash for the rest of my life!"
Tsubaki tried to say more, but Chie Mai walked over and slapped her across the face.
"My dear sister, you're really too softhearted!" Mai sneered. "You'd betray me for these outsiders? Now you beg my brother-in-law to stop? Do you want him to die? What are you thinking?"
"I… I didn't…" Tsubaki was stunned, unable to comprehend that her gentle sister would hit her.
"Don't you get it? My brother-in-law is a criminal! He escaped thanks to me. If he surrenders now, Konoha will execute him! That's his only fate."
Mai smirked. "And remember this: my brother-in-law is your fiancé. As the saying goes—marry a chicken, follow the chicken; marry a dog, follow the dog. Wherever he goes, you go. You'd better accept that!"
"Mai… how did you become like this?" Tsubaki whispered, horrified. Was this really the obedient sister she once knew?
"Me? I've never changed. You just misjudged me!"
Mai laughed smugly and clung to Mizuki's arm. "Brother-in-law, that stupid woman doesn't even stand with you. Ignore her—she'll only hold you back and maybe even betray you."
"Unlike her, I'll always be by your side. They say a sister-in-law is half a wife, but I can be your real wife! Men like you are my heroes."
Mizuki grinned, his tiger-like claws gripping Mai's back. "Hahaha! Fine then. Forget that useless woman. Mai, you're far more considerate than her."
To be honest, though Mai was younger, her figure was already more developed than her sister's. Her bold wildness excited Mizuki in ways Tsubaki never had.
Unlike his fiancée, who avoided even holding hands before marriage, Mai threw herself at him without hesitation.
"You… you two…" Tsubaki stared at them in shock, as if struck by lightning. Why had things spiraled to this?
"That's enough!" Ino, who had been pretending to be unconscious nearby, couldn't hold back anymore.
She jumped up, hands on her hips, shouting angrily, "This is unbearable! If you want to run off, then go! It's already too late anyway—you'll never escape."
Did they really think Orochimaru ran a charity? From the chat group, Ino already knew his character well. If they dared approach him, they'd die without even a body left.
If they wanted to die, fine—but leaving them in Konoha only polluted the air.
"You bitch, I almost forgot about you!" Mai's expression turned venomous. "You embarrassed me in the hospital last time. I knew you were the one behind it!"
"You pretended to care about me, but you were scheming the whole time! And Ryota wetting the bed—that was your doing too, wasn't it?"
Back then, Ino had spiked Mai's with hallucinogens, making her put on a striptease show in front of everyone. Though the effects didn't last long, Mai nearly stripped naked.
That humiliating memory became a laughingstock in the village. People whispered and mocked her endlessly, forcing her to avoid others for weeks.
Now, before leaving with Mizuki, she was determined to settle that score.
"Yes, it was me!" Ino lifted her chin proudly, hands on her hips. "So what?"
"Perfect. As long as you admit it!" Mai snarled, leaping forward with a powerful kick aimed at Ino's stomach.
Her strike was fast and fierce, even whistling through the air.
For a moment, Ino was startled. Since when had this shameless woman gotten so strong? She hadn't even passed the ninja exam!
But Mai wasn't the only one who had grown stronger—Ino had too.
At the critical moment, Ino flipped backward, dodging the strike, and landed ready to use the Yamanaka Clan's secret technique.
"Not bad. As expected of a girl from a famous family," Mai sneered. "But do you think this is all I've got?"
Her speed suddenly increased. She darted in and kicked Ino before she could complete her jutsu, sending her sprawling.
Ino let out a grunt. Though not seriously hurt, she looked disheveled and embarrassed.
"Damn it, I underestimated you!" she hissed, brushing dirt off her clothes.
"I don't know how you got so strong, but don't think you can beat me. My strength doesn't come from my clan's resources—it comes from the person you mocked!"
She raised her voice toward the trees.
"Itsuki! Itsuki, come out quickly! I'm being bullied!"
Ino, who had been tough and proud just moments before, suddenly shouted for help like a spoiled child.
Tsunade, who had been about to rush over, noticed that Itsuki's chakra signature was already nearby. Through the chat group, she secretly tipped Ino off. That's why she held back.
After all, Tsunade had just received alarming news—besides Nawaki, her great-grandfather, her second-granduncle, and her grandmother Mito had also been resurrected through the Impure World Reincarnation.
She was desperate to confront them.
