Inside the Hokage Building, Sasuke Uchiha, draped in a black cloak, walked silently down the long corridor.
"Sasuke?"
Shikamaru looked up from a pile of papers, his gaze locking onto the familiar figure entering the hall.
"Shikamaru." Sasuke's reply was brief, his tone flat.
"Any progress on investigating Kaguya's Relics?" Shikamaru asked, curiosity flickering in his eyes.
"Yes. I have something important to tell Naruto. You should come too," Sasuke said seriously.
Sensing the gravity in his voice, Shikamaru didn't question further. He nodded and followed close behind.
Together, they entered Naruto's office, where the Seventh Hokage was buried beneath a mountain of paperwork.
Hearing footsteps, Naruto looked up. His expression brightened instantly.
"Sasuke—you're back."
Sasuke walked straight up to his old friend without preamble.
"Naruto, what I'm about to tell you concerns the safety of the entire Shinobi World."
Naruto set his pen aside, his expression hardening.
"What is it, Sasuke? Did you encounter a powerful enemy?"
Sasuke took a slow breath. "I met a mysterious masked man inside Kaguya's Relics. His strength is… overwhelming."
He paused, then continued grimly, "Not only that — he used Edo Tensei to summon the First Hokage, Madara Uchiha, members of the Akatsuki, my father Fugaku, Mother, Itachi, Shisui, and even your parents — and Jiraiya-sensei."
The words hit like a hammer.
Naruto shot to his feet, slamming his palms against the desk. Papers exploded into the air.
"What?! My father, my mom, and Pervy Sage — brought back by Edo Tensei?! Who the hell did this?!"
Shikamaru frowned. "Edo Tensei, huh? Could the masked man be Orochimaru or Kabuto Yakushi?"
Sasuke shook his head. "No. Neither of them could control Hashirama and Madara. This man's power is on a completely different level. He defeated me… and after I lost consciousness, he took my Rinnegan."
Naruto's eyes widened. "He took your Rinnegan?!"
The weight of those words sank in. The Rinnegan was not just Sasuke's power — it was one of the most vital defenses of the modern ninja world.
The air in the room turned heavy.
Naruto clenched his fists. "Losing the Rinnegan is a huge blow to our strength. But no matter how strong this guy is, we're not just going to sit around waiting to die."
"We'll find out who he is, get your Rinnegan back, and rescue everyone he brought back with Edo Tensei."
Shikamaru's analytical tone cut through the tension.
"If he's strong enough to control so many powerful reanimations, then his motives must be deeper than we know. We need intel — fast. Figure out the source of his power, his goals, everything."
Then he turned toward Sasuke. "If he could defeat you, why didn't he kill you? Why just take your eye?"
Sasuke frowned. "I don't know. Not only did he spare me — he also… reattached my arm."
He extended his left arm from under his cloak. The pale white skin gleamed faintly.
Naruto blinked. "Wait, your hand—?"
"Yes," Sasuke said quietly. "It's an arm grown from Hashirama's Cells."
Shikamaru rubbed his chin, deep in thought. "Strange. Everything about this man's behavior is… off."
"It is," Sasuke agreed. "He took my Rinnegan, revived legendary shinobi, and then let me live."
"Could he have taken your Rinnegan to resurrect someone — or something?" Shikamaru suggested.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed. "Resurrect? That reminds me of when Madara used Obito to perform the Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique during the Fourth Shinobi World War…"
He fell silent, frowning deeply. "But why resurrect them? For what purpose?"
"Wait," Shikamaru said, "you fought them inside the alternate dimension of Kaguya's Relics, right?"
Sasuke nodded.
"Then he already knows you've been investigating those relics. If he knows that, maybe he's preparing for something bigger — perhaps the arrival of another Ōtsutsuki. Maybe he's reviving the First Hokage and the others to fight that threat."
Naruto and Sasuke exchanged a tense look.
Naruto nodded slowly. "That would make sense. If he wanted to start a war, he'd have killed you on the spot. Instead, he restored your arm."
"So… he might not actually be our enemy," Sasuke said.
"Maybe," Shikamaru replied, "but we can't take chances. First, we should investigate Orochimaru and Kabuto. They're still the only known users of Edo Tensei. This could still be connected to them."
Naruto sighed. "Agreed. Sasuke, since you're back, get some rest. Sakura and Sarada have probably missed you."
Sasuke nodded faintly. "Alright."
After Sasuke and Shikamaru left, Naruto stood at the window, staring out at Konohagakure — the village he swore to protect. His heart was heavy.
"Father… Mom… Jiraiya-sensei…" he murmured softly.
Later That Day
Sasuke returned home, but the house was quiet. Empty.
"Sakura must be at the hospital," he muttered and set off toward the Konoha Hospital.
Inside, Sakura Haruno had just finished treating a patient. Wiping her brow, she stepped out of the emergency ward — and froze.
"Sasuke!" she cried, disbelief flooding her face. She rushed to him and threw her arms around his chest.
Sasuke smiled faintly. "Yes… Sakura."
Her eyes darted to his left hand. "Sasuke, your hand—?"
He shook his head slightly. "It's not convenient to talk here. Let's go somewhere else."
They climbed to the rooftop of the hospital, where the wind blew softly against the setting sun.
Sakura turned to him, eyes full of concern. "Sasuke… how did your arm come back?"
Sasuke exhaled, recounting everything — from Kaguya's Relics, to the Edo Tensei, the masked man, and the theft of his Rinnegan.
Sakura's hands clenched into fists, anger flashing across her face.
"Even your father… my parents-in-law… and the others, brought back from the dead? What is this man trying to accomplish?"
Sasuke's gaze drifted into the distance. "That's exactly what we need to find out."
Sakura softened. "Your Rinnegan… losing it must've been hard."
Sasuke smiled faintly, resting a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright. Don't worry."
"By the way, where's Sarada?" he asked suddenly.
Sakura thought for a moment. "She's probably with Boruto. They didn't have a mission today, so they went to the training grounds to practice."
"With Boruto…?" Sasuke's jaw tightened slightly, his brow furrowing. "She's already a ninja?"
Sakura nodded, smiling gently but with a hint of teasing resentment. "Yes. Our daughter's already a Genin."
Sasuke could hear the unspoken emotion in her tone — the years of loneliness she'd endured while he was away. Guilt washed over him.
"Sakura… I'm sorry," he said softly. "I've been gone too long, neglecting both you and our daughter. From now on… I'll spend more time with you."
Her eyes reddened slightly. Sasuke pulled her close, whispering, "From now on, I'll be a better husband… and a better father."
"Sasuke…" she murmured, tears slipping down her cheeks.
They stood there, holding each other as the warm glow of the setting sun wrapped around them — a quiet, fleeting peace between battles.
Later, at the Training Grounds
At one of Konoha's training fields, Boruto, Sarada, and Sumire Kakei sat on a picnic blanket enjoying lunch together.
Sarada took a bite of Sumire's food and smiled. "Sumire, your cooking's amazing!"
Sumire blushed lightly. "Thank you, Sarada. Yours is great too."
Sarada giggled and picked up a piece of meat with her chopsticks, holding it out to Boruto.
"Here, open up."
Boruto grinned and accepted. "Mmm, that's good!"
Sumire's face turned pink as she watched them. She hesitated, then awkwardly mimicked Sarada, offering Boruto a piece of food too.
"Um… Boruto…"
He blinked, surprised — but smiled and accepted that one as well.
And that's when a deep, cold voice cut through the air.
"Sarada. What… are you doing?"
At the entrance of the training ground stood Sasuke, his face shadowed, his eyes wide in disbelief.
Before him, his daughter — his little peanut — and two girls were taking turns feeding Boruto Uzumaki.
The air around him rippled with suppressed fury.
His Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan ignited, glowing blood-red as his expression twisted into barely contained rage.
"Sarada…"
His voice was low, dangerous.
"Explain yourself."
