Chapter 209 -  Either Give Me Weapons, or Pay Up! (Please Subscribe!!)

Because of the rain, Yuehai Pavilion wasn't very busy today.

Jiang Yan's workload was correspondingly much lighter.

After all, there weren't that many tasks every single day.

Jiang Yan quite enjoyed this relaxed feeling.

Maybe it was because he had been influenced by Barbatos and Morax somehow.

More and more, Jiang Yan felt that slacking off at work was an extremely enjoyable thing.

Speaking of which… maybe he should make a trip to see Barbatos?

Jiang Yan suddenly remembered the matter he had been thinking about last night—collecting weapons for his three beloved little disciples.

Come to think of it… could he just call Barbatos over from here?

After all, Jiang Yan knew Barbatos had the ability to gather information through the wind and transmit messages through it.

With that thought, Jiang Yan walked to the window and opened it.

"Barbatos!!"

He shouted out the window.

The only response was the sound of the wind.

"Barbatos! I have something to talk to you about!!"

Jiang Yan shouted again.

Still no response.

Hmm… maybe I'm not calling him the right way.

Jiang Yan muttered to himself.

Suddenly, he raised his voice and shouted:

"Ahh, today's weather is perfect for drinking!"

"Looks like it's time to take out my special century-aged wine!"

Suddenly—

A gust of wind rushed into the third floor of Yuehai Pavilion.

"Ehe! Jiang Yan, that's not very fair of you!"

"For such fine wine, you should share it with good friends!"

As expected of you, Barbatos.

Looking at the bard dressed in a minstrel's outfit, Jiang Yan wore a helpless expression.

It seemed he had just discovered a way to summon Barbatos anytime, anywhere.

Still, Jiang Yan went to the cabinet, took out a bottle of wine, and handed it to him.

"Give it a try. It's a new product from the Liyue Wine Guild."

"Oh my, that's too kind of you."

"Then thank you very much!"

Barbatos laughed happily, quickly grabbed the bottle, uncorked it, and took a long, satisfied drink.

"Ahhh… Jiang Yan, seriously, how do you brew your wine?"

"How is it this delicious?!"

Barbatos showered Jiang Yan with praise for his brewing skills.

But in his eagerness to taste the wine, he didn't notice the mysterious smile on Jiang Yan's face after he drank it.

"That's a trade secret. How could I casually tell you?"

Jiang Yan said with a grin as he watched Barbatos finish the rest of the bottle.

"Huh? It's gone…"

Barbatos sounded disappointed.

But then he looked at Jiang Yan again, his eyes sparkling.

"Well… Jiang Yan, how about another bottle?"

He walked up to Jiang Yan with a pitiful expression.

"Sure. I still have plenty of wine here."

Jiang Yan said casually.

Barbatos froze.

Something's wrong.

Very wrong.

Was this really the Jiang Yan who never did anything without profit?

…Ah, whatever.

As long as there was wine, that was all that mattered.

Barbatos quickly gave up thinking.

"Ehe, then thank—"

"However!"

Before he could finish thanking him, Jiang Yan suddenly interrupted.

"I have a small request."

Jiang Yan looked at Barbatos with a mysterious smile.

Just as I thought!

This guy didn't invite me for drinks out of kindness!

Barbatos immediately became cautious.

"Oh come on, don't be so wary."

Jiang Yan slung an arm around Barbatos' shoulder, took another bottle of good wine from the cabinet, and handed it to him with a smile.

Barbatos held the bottle and thought for a moment before finally opening it.

Whatever.

Even if Jiang Yan had some scheme, it didn't really matter.

After all, Jiang Yan lacked nothing. There wasn't anything on him worth coveting anyway.

With that thought, Barbatos relaxed and began drinking again.

He had just taken a sip when Jiang Yan spoke.

"Give me a set of Sky Series weapons."

Barbatos' drinking motion froze instantly.

He slowly lowered the bottle in his hand and carefully sealed it.

Then he suddenly looked up at the sky.

"Oh my… I suddenly remembered there are some matters in Mondstadt that still need handling."

"I'll go take care of them first. Bye!"

With that, Barbatos tried to slip away.

But how could Jiang Yan let the duck that had flown into his mouth escape?

He grabbed Barbatos' shoulder and said with a smile:

"No need to rush off."

"If you won't give them, that's fine. These two bottles cost 120,000 Mora in total. How would you like to pay?"

Barbatos froze in place.

"120,000 Mora?!"

"Why don't you just rob me?!"

"Oh please," Jiang Yan said with a grin.

"Robbing people isn't nearly this profitable."

"Either give me the weapons—or pay up!"

"Ahem… Jiang Yan, we've been friends for so many years…"

Barbatos tried playing the friendship card.

"Doesn't work."

Jiang Yan continued smiling.

That smile looked like the smile of a devil, making Barbatos shiver involuntarily.

Damn it! I really got fleeced by this guy!

"But why do you want the Sky Series weapons anyway?"

Barbatos asked in confusion.

He had never heard of Jiang Yan collecting weapons before.

Wasn't this guy's hobby always collecting treasure chests?

"Well, I recently took in a few disciples. They need weapons."

Jiang Yan grinned and explained.

"But even so, you shouldn't ask me. The old man probably has plenty too."

Barbatos said.

"Oh, don't worry. He won't escape either."

Barbatos: "…"

So both Morax and I are getting robbed, huh?

"Relax, relax. I won't let you lose out."

Jiang Yan patted Barbatos' shoulder.

"I'll give you a one-year unlimited drinking pass at the Liyue Wine Guild. How about it?"

"For an entire year, you can drink all the wine you want there."

"My treat."

Barbatos' eyes suddenly lit up.

But he still hesitated.

"But…"

"Two years."

Jiang Yan immediately raised the offer.

"…Deal!" 🍷
