Chapter 70 - "The Vice Admiral Showdown."

-----

-----

Nami glared at Vice Admiral Ghost Spider with pure venom. "Old man… you were one of the ones laughing just now, weren't you?!"

He had laughed so loudly, as if the world needed to hear it.

"I'm Nami, navigator of the Logan Pirates…"

Ghost Spider, hair wild and cigarette dangling from his lips, fixed Nami with a cold, unflinching stare. Slowly, he drew two legendary swords from his grip.

"If Logan truly wields the Thunder Fruit, then you… must be a Cloud Fruit user," he muttered, reaching this conclusion with a rare sigh of relief.

Nami froze for a moment, then it clicked. The Marines must have seen her use "cloud powers" before and assumed she was a Cloud Fruit user.

Little did they know, cloud abilities were just one element of the Weather Fruit.

Judging by Ghost Spider's dismissive expression, he clearly didn't take her cloud powers seriously.

Nami sneered. "Ghost Spider… just wait until you meet my Cloud Spears. You'll regret underestimating me!"

"You're asking for death!" A cold glint flashed in Ghost Spider's eyes as he slammed both feet onto the deck.

Shave!

One of the Marine Rokushiki techniques.

Like a phantom, Ghost Spider closed the distance to Nami in an instant.

Above his head, six swords entwined in his hair writhed as if alive, slicing through the air with murderous intent.

As a hawkish Marine, his stance toward pirates was simple: kill.

Mercy wasn't even a word in his dictionary.

Feeling the surge of his assault, Nami's anger flared instantly.

"You think you've got some fight in you, old man?!"

"Cloud Spear Piercer!"

She swung her hand, compressing massive clouds into countless sharp triangular spikes, filling the air with a deadly lattice.

Hard as steel.

"I'll pierce you to hell!" Nami's control over the cloud spikes turned them into an impenetrable barrage, cutting off every escape route.

Through countless experiments, Nami had learned that these triangular cloud spikes inflicted maximum damage, leaving wounds nearly impossible to heal.

Ghost Spider twitched at the corner of his mouth. Every spike radiated Conqueror's Haki.

His expression hardened.

"To master this level of Cloud Fruit ability in such a short time… today, I can't let you live."

Murderous intent intensified.

His long hair moved without wind. The six swords wrapped in his hair, and the blades in his hands, were instantly covered with Conqueror's Haki.

The black blades reflected the unwavering resolve in his eyes. "Die!"

"Eight Blade Style: Spider King Spear!"

Bang!

The battle between Nami and Ghost Spider erupted.

Meanwhile…

"You're Nico Robin?!" Vice Admiral Dalmesia stared at the woman blocking his path.

"Capturing you will earn me glory beyond measure!" His crimson lips curled into a smirk of excitement.

Though it was his first time seeing Robin in person, her reputation preceded her.

The sole survivor of Ohara, only eight years old, with a bounty of 79 million Berries—not for her strength, but for her ability to read ancient texts.

Dalmesia grinned to himself. This was practically a gift!

If he could bring Robin back to the Marine Headquarters, he might not get a promotion, but a raise was guaranteed.

"Robin, surrender!" Dalmesia sneered, as black-and-white spotted fur sprouted over his skin.

Animal-type, Dog Fruit: Dalmatian Form.

As a seasoned Vice Admiral, he immediately transformed into his strongest beast form.

Even when fighting a rabbit, a lion would give it full power. On the battlefield, he underestimated no one.

Robin cast a glance at Logan and felt reassured. The captain was giving it his all; she wouldn't drag him down. This fight—she would not lose.

"Foolish ant shaking a tree!" Dalmesia growled as he charged.

"Storm Kick: Great Dane Tail Whip!"

Haki coiled around his legs for maximum force.

Robin's expression remained calm. Crossing her arms, she unleashed her Flower-Flower Fruit ability: "Ten Blossoms Bloom: Break!"

Cherry blossoms swirled. Ten black arms erupted from her body, leaving Dalmesia staring in disbelief. Fear began to spread.

"Vice Admiral Ghost Spider! Vice Admiral Dalmesia! We've got your back!"

A group of trained Marines opened fire on Nami and Robin.

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Bullets flew in torrents, tearing through the air.

"You pests!"

Above, Logan's eyes gleamed. With a flick of his fingers, every bullet was obliterated.

Meanwhile, bolt-sized thunder struck the Marines, leaving black smoke rising as they were fried to a crisp.

Logan didn't strike again.

Nami and Robin weren't delicate flowers—they needed to fight. Ghost Spider and Dalmesia were perfect tests.

Cap's expression darkened as he saw the deck littered with incapacitated Marines.

"Logan!" he growled, furious. "Yellow Monkey, help Ghost Spider and Dalmesia! I'll deal with this brat!"

Killing so many Marines in front of him was an insult to Logan. Double fury activated.

Yellow Monkey glanced at the other two battlefields, raising an eyebrow. The two fights he thought were no-contest had completely flipped.

The advantage lay with Nami and Robin.

Disappointment flashed across his eyes. His body shimmered into golden particles, streaking toward the battlefields.

"Yellow Monkey, did I ask you to go?!" Logan smirked, then vanished in an instant.

Cap's eyes bugged out comically and snapped back. Gone.

Logan had just… vanished?

"Yellow Monkey, watch out!" Cap turned sharply.

"Too late!"

Logan reappeared in front of Yellow Monkey, his Haki-coated leg striking toward the Vice Admiral's chest.

"What?!" Yellow Monkey's eyes widened in shock. He crossed his arms, blocking instinctively.

Boom!

Yellow Monkey was kicked across the deck, landing beside Cap. Logan appeared with him.

"Don't even think about it. I'm your opponent," Logan said coolly, staring at both of them.

So, the Flash-Flash Fruit, huh? You're all about speed? Let's try instant movement.

Cap and Yellow Monkey exchanged a look of stunned realization. Logan's speed wasn't just speed—it was vanishing.

Their Observation Haki had traced his starting and ending positions—there was no movement in between.

No longer casual, their expressions hardened.

"Logan, what was that ability?!" Yellow Monkey demanded, frowning.

Logan gave him a dumbfounded look. "Are we that close?"

Even a Marine Admiral shouldn't ask an enemy about their abilities mid-battle.

Yellow Monkey turned grim. "Cap, this one's tricky. Let's team up and take him."

Cap nodded without hesitation.

"Logan, being the first rookie pirate in history to face both Cap and me at once… lucky you."

"Lightspeed Kick!"

Yellow Monkey's body glowed golden, attacking Logan with lightning speed.

"Let's see you run, Logan!" Cap charged, Haki wrapping his fists.

They flanked him, aiming to trap him.

"Ever taken a kick from lightspeed before?!"

"Try my Iron Fist!"

Logan glanced at them lazily. Just as Yellow Monkey's leg and Cap's fist were about to land—

Vanish!

Logan disappeared.

Cap and Yellow Monkey froze. Too late.

Bang!

Yellow Monkey's kick and Cap's fist collided, sending a shockwave. Both staggered back.

Logan seized the moment, reappearing before Yellow Monkey. Haki-wrapped fist smashed into his face.

Yellow Monkey's eyes widened as Haki engulfed him.

Boom!

He was sent flying.

"Bastard!" Cap roared, moving fast to cushion the blow.

Yellow Monkey shivered, brushing away smoke and soot. Almost got disfigured.

"Cap, Logan's not fast—he's teleporting," Yellow Monkey realized.

Cap nodded grimly, agreeing.

"Discovering his ability won't change anything," Logan said, hands behind his head, a cocky smirk on his face. With instant movement, he was unbeatable.

"Hahaha! Logan, I've seen every weird ability in the seas!" Cap bellowed.

"If my guess is right, teleportation drains a lot of stamina. Let's see how many times you can do it."

"Yellow Monkey, take him!" Cap surged forward, Haki covering him like a living cannonball.

Yellow Monkey's lips curved. Finally, Cap was serious. He couldn't slack off either.

"Eight-Shaku Jewel!"

Yellow Monkey leapt into the air, golden light erupting. Hands crossed at his chest, fingertips forming a seal. Hundreds of golden particles materialized, covering the battlefield.

"You can teleport? Distance drains your energy!"

"Logan, let's see where you run this time!"

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Golden light rained down like a storm.

"Take another punch!" Cap shouted, iron fist teleporting toward Logan. The strike could crush a mountain.

"Hahaha! Bring it on!" Logan laughed, summoning silver lightning. He bathed in a torrent of silver energy.

His eyes gleamed with icy light, and his right hand slammed down hard.

"Wide-Range Divine Punishment!"

Boom!

Thousands of silver bolts of lightning tore through the sky.

The sheer force and destructive power shredded the heavens, deafening anyone nearby.

Lightning clashed with countless golden particles, sparking massive explosions.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The golden particles detonated in chain reactions, turning the air into a raging inferno. Superheated shockwaves swept across the battlefield, swallowing several nearby towers and reducing them to rubble.

Nami and the others, caught in the middle of the fight, went pale. They immediately pulled back to a safer distance.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The explosions lasted a full minute, sending towering flames into the sky. A massive mushroom cloud loomed over Judicial Island.

"You brat! Don't get cocky!" Karp roared, charging with a fist as black as midnight, glinting with deadly intent in the sunlight.

"Old man, don't try to lecture me!" Logan sneered, his silver eyes cold as they locked onto Karp.

In the next instant, thick, bucket-sized bolts of lightning surged at Karp, summoned mercilessly by Logan.

Karp's expression changed, and he twisted and dodged, activating his Observation Haki to its fullest to evade the strikes.

Even if the lightning couldn't seriously harm him, instinct drives a person to avoid danger. No one would willingly take a hit if they could avoid it.

Still, a few bolts grazed him. Though they didn't penetrate his Haki, Karp felt a tingling chill run through his body.

"Logan, enough of this!"

"Tian Cong Yun Sword!"

A booming voice rang out, and golden light flashed as Kizaru appeared behind Logan.

In his hand was a long sword formed from concentrated golden photons. He swung it straight at Logan's head.

Logan tilted his head, narrowly dodging the strike, then retreated swiftly.

His eyes gleamed coldly as they swept over Kizaru's Tian Cong Yun Sword.

"Time to have some real fun with you guys."

The demonic sword, a thousand blades, was unsheathed.

"Logan, today, no matter what, I'm taking you back to the Marine HQ!" Karp tore his tattered shirt, revealing his muscular chest.

A surge of unprecedented power rose within him.

If Logan were allowed to grow unchecked, he could one day be more dangerous than a Yonko.

"Whoa… Vice Admiral Karp is completely fired up," Kizaru said, eyes widening in surprise.

The last time Karp had truly lost his temper was years ago, and he was facing a Yonko back then.

Now, he was up against… a rookie pirate.

"Hahaha, Kizaru, you guys really think highly of yourselves! So what?!"

"Can you tell me what'll happen if I piss off Karp?!" Logan scoffed.

Kizaru froze, his expression darkening.

"This brat… really is arrogant," he muttered, narrowing his eyes. There would be no more slacking off or taking it easy.

If Logan wanted a real fight, he'd get one. No one could mistake a Marine Admiral for someone who's just along for the ride.
