The memory felt like a dream, yet something about it seemed far too vivid to be imaginary.
If she had to choose between believing it was a dream or reality, Stella would have chosen reality.
She looked around the room again, her confusion deepening. 'Maybe I should ask Adrian?'
She paused. The house seemed unusually quiet. Perhaps he had gone out.
Then her eyes landed on the makeshift table he had been using to work while keeping vigil over her.
A faint sigh escaped her lips. 'It seems I have been out for days again.'
"Of course. What did you think?" A voice suddenly sounded inside her head.
Stella froze.
The voice sighed almost helplessly. "You really took your time?"
Stella sprang from the bed, her eyes sweeping frantically around the room while her heart pounded against her ribs. "Who are you?"
The voice chuckled. 'I guess you are not being serious right now?'
Stella's eyes narrowed. "Who the hell are you, and where are you?"
"Are you really looking for me?"
