Chapter 218 - Chapter 217 - The Show

Marineford remained silent after Ada's declaration.

The destruction of the Blackbeard Pirates.

The revelation of her dream.

The clash with Shanks.

Everything had happened so quickly that nobody could keep up anymore.

Even Sengoku felt something was wrong.

A feeling. An instinct.

The same instinct that had warned him during God Valley decades ago.

Something was coming.

Something worse.

His eyes narrowed.

"….Ada." His voice echoed across the battlefield. "What are you planning now?"

A faint smirk appeared on Ada's face. "Nothing special."

Sengoku's eye twitched. "Stop playing games."

Ada placed a hand on her hip. "Fine."

She shrugged casually. "Just something we happened to stumble upon.

That answer only made Sengoku's expression darken further. "What does that even mean?"

Ada ignored him. Instead she turned slightly.

"Lilith."

Lilith immediately stepped forward. "Yes, Captain?"

"Bring him out."

Lilith's eyes lit up instantly. "Oh!"

Her grin widened.

"That guy."

"Right away."

Then she disappeared.

The Marines exchanged confused looks.

"What guy?"

"Who is she talking about?"

"Who do they even have left?"

A few moments later, everyone heard screaming. Loud. Familiar. Arrogant.

"UNHAND ME!!"

"I'LL HAVE ALL OF YOUR HEADS!!"

"I'M A GOD!!"

"I'M A CELESTIAL DRAGON!!"

The entire battlefield froze.

Sengoku's eyes widened.

No…

No way.

The Marines froze.

Then their eyes widened.

Lilith returned. Dragging a chained figure behind her.

Then everyone saw him. Dragged forward in chains. Bruised. Dirty. Covered in grime.

His usually pristine clothes torn and stained.

His face swollen. His nose crooked. His hair a complete mess.

Yet despite all that, everyone recognized him.

Saint Charloss.

A Celestial Dragon.

The battlefield erupted.

"A CELESTIAL DRAGON?!"

"What is he doing here?!"

"Why does the Nyx Pirates have him?!"

Even the Admirals were stunned. (Akainu is still in the rubble)

Kizaru stopped smiling.

Aokiji stared silently.

Sengoku looked genuinely shocked. "Saint Charloss?!"

Then Charloss noticed the Marines. His eyes immediately brightened. Like a drowning man spotting land.

"MARINES!!"

He began screaming.

"SAVE ME!!"

His voice cracked.

"WHAT ARE YOU IDIOTS STANDING AROUND FOR?!"

"I'M A CELESTIAL DRAGON!!"

"FREE ME IMMEDIATELY!!"

He pointed at Ada.

"ARREST HER!"

"ARREST ALL OF THEM!"

"EXECUTE THEM!!"

Nobody moved. Not a single Marine.

Because Ada was standing right there. Watching. Smiling.

Charloss blinked.

"…Why aren't you moving?"

No answer.

His voice became shrill. "I GAVE YOU AN ORDER!!"

Ada suddenly laughed.

The sound made Charloss flinch.

"You still think they're going to save you?"

Charloss immediately pointed at her.

"You filthy pirate!"

His face twisted with rage.

"When I get home—"

"I'll have you executed!"

"I'll make you my slave!"

"I'll make all of you slaves!"

His finger moved toward the Nyx Pirates.

"You too!"

"You too!"

"ALL OF YOU!!"

The Nyx Pirates immediately looked annoyed.

Then—

Perona burst out laughing.

"HOROHOROHORO!"

"Captain."

She wiped a tear.

"Can I hit him?"

Enel looked disgusted. "How is he still talking?"

Lightning crackled around him. "I can fix that."

Loki leaned on his hammer.

"GABABABABA!!"

"This little guy is funny."

He looked at Charloss. "Do all Celestial Dragons sound this stupid?"

Tesoro adjusted his glasses.

"No."

A pause.

"Some are worse."

Even Shanks looked uncomfortable. His gaze remained fixed on Charloss.

On the chains. On the fear.

On the pathetic sight of a man who had spent his entire life believing himself untouchable.

"They're exactly how I remember them to be."

There wasn't anger in his voice. Just disappointment. The kind that came from seeing something ugly that never changed.

Beside him, Benn Beckman let out a slow sigh and lit a cigarette.

"Unfortunately."

He exhaled smoke into the air.

"Some things never improve."

Lucky Roux shook his head. "Hard to believe people like that rule the world."

Yasopp snorted. "Rule?"

He glanced toward Charloss. "That guy can't even stand on his own two feet."

Shanks remained silent for a moment.

Watching. Thinking.

Then his eyes shifted toward Ada. Toward the faint smile on her face.

And suddenly he understood.

"…So this is what you planned, Ada?"

His voice was calm. Not accusing. Not surprised. Just curious.

Ada's smile widened slightly.

"Yes."

She looked toward the live broadcast Den Den Mushi.

Toward the countless eyes watching around the world.

Toward the people who had spent generations fearing the Celestial Dragons.

"I'll show the entire world."

Her voice carried across Marineford.

"That these so-called gods are nothing more than frauds."

Charloss flinched.

Ada continued.

"They bleed."

"They cry."

"They beg."

"They die."

Her eyes turned cold.

"Just like everyone else."

Across the battlefield, Marines exchanged uneasy looks.

Because deep down they knew she was right.

Shanks sighed heavily. Running a hand through his red hair.

"…Honestly?"

He shook his head.

"You've been doing that for so long that I don't think it even matters anymore."

Ada raised an eyebrow.

"Oh?"

Shanks laughed softly.

"How many Celestial Dragons have you killed over the years?"

No one answered.

Then Beckman spoke.

"Enough that the World Government stopped counting."

The Red Hair Pirates chuckled.

Even some of the Nyx Pirates smirked.

Shanks pointed toward Charloss.

"You've been humiliating them for decades."

"You've raided their ships."

"You've burned their estates."

"You've freed their slaves."

"You've killed their guards."

A grin appeared on his face.

"And every time they tried to stop you…"

Ada finished the sentence. "They failed."

Shanks laughed. "Exactly."

He looked toward the Den Den Mushi.

Toward the millions watching.

"The difference is…"

His smile slowly disappeared.

"This time the whole world is watching."

Silence spread.

Even Sengoku's face darkened.

Because he understood the implication immediately.

For eight hundred years the Celestial Dragons had been presented as gods.

Untouchable. Sacred. Above mankind.

But now?

The entire world was watching one of them kneel.

Cry.

Beg.

Bleed.

And soon die.

Shanks looked toward Ada once more.

His eyes narrowed slightly. "You're not just killing him."

Ada's smile became sharper.

"No."

A pause.

"I'm killing the illusion."

For the first time since arriving at Marineford Shanks had no response.

Because he knew.

Just like Ada knew.

Just like Sengoku knew.

After today the world would never see the Celestial Dragons the same way again.

Ada then stepped forward. The voices that had filled Marineford moments earlier died instantly.

Even the wind seemed to still.

The battlefield watched her.

The Marines.

The pirates.

The Whitebeard remnants.

The Red Hair Pirates.

Even Sengoku and Garp.

Everyone.

Because whenever Ada moved, something happened.

And that terrified them.

She stopped a few feet away from the kneeling Charloss.

Then she pointed at him.

Slowly. Deliberately.

"When we were sailing near Sabaody…"

Her voice echoed across Marineford.

"And making our way toward Marineford…"

A faint smile appeared.

"We stumbled upon his ship."

The Den Den Mushi focused directly on her face.

Millions around the world watched.

Waiting. Listening.

Then her smile vanished.

And the temperature of the battlefield seemed to drop.

"I remembered something."

Her eyes landed on Charloss. Cold. Sharp. Merciless.

"This pig."

The atmosphere changed instantly.

No laughter. No whispers. No movement. Just silence.

"He caused trouble for my son."

For a single heartbeat, the battlefield didn't react at all.

Not the Marines. Not the pirates. Not even Sengoku.

Then the meaning sank in.

A Celestial Dragon.

Sabaody.

A "son."

And suddenly the weight of it hit. Not with chaos. But with realization.

"…Wait." A Marine frowned, voice low as if the pieces were only now clicking together. "…Straw Hat Luffy was at Sabaody recently, right?"

A nearby soldier nodded stiffly. "Yeah… about a week ago. That incident with the Celestial Dragons…"

Another Marine swallowed.

"And Admiral Kizaru was dispatched."

A pause.

"…to eliminate him."

Silence deepened.

The implication settled slowly, like a weight pressing down on everyone at once.

"…So it was that same Celestial Dragon?"

Someone whispered it more to themselves than anyone else.

The realization didn't explode.

It sank. Heavily.

A Whitebeard pirate exhaled through his teeth. "…So that's what this is."

Another shook his head. "No wonder she captured him."

From above the battlefield, Sengoku's expression tightened further.

He didn't interrupt. Because he understood now. This wasn't just a random execution.

It wasn't even simple retaliation.

It was cause and consequence.

A chain reaction that had been building since Sabaody and had finally reached its breaking point here, at Marineford.

Shanks let out a slow breath, eyes narrowing slightly.

"…So Kizaru was sent to clean it up."

Beckman nodded once.

"Yeah."

A brief pause.

"And now the bill came due somewhere else."

The wind rolled across the shattered battlefield again.

No one spoke after that. Because this time, there was nothing left to misunderstand.

Another Whitebeard pirate exhaled slowly, eyes narrowing. "So that's why he's here."

Another shook his head faintly.

"That's not just bad luck…"

"That's suicide."

Even the Admirals exchanged brief glances.

No one needed to say it out loud. There were lines in the world you didn't cross and somehow, Charloss had crossed one of the worst possible ones.

Across the field, Ada's gaze stayed fixed on Charloss.

Her voice came again—calm, unhurried.

"He's the one who caused trouble for Luffy."

A slight tilt of her head.

"I guess I should return the favor…"

Her eyes sharpened slightly.

"…for almost killing him."

That line landed heavier than any shout. Because now it wasn't just revenge. It was intent and it was personal.

Sengoku's expression tightened immediately.

"…You brought a Celestial Dragon here for THAT reason?"

Ada didn't even look at him.

"Yes."

Simple.

Direct.

Unbothered.

A pause.

Then she added, almost casually—

"It's only fair."

The silence that followed wasn't confusion this time.

It was understanding and that was worse.

Because now everyone realized Charloss wasn't here because of war.

He was here because someone had decided he was already dead the moment he touched the wrong person.

Sengoku's jaw clenched hard enough to creak.

"…Are you that petty, Ada?!"

The accusation echoed across the broken harbor.

For the first time, Ada looked directly at him.

Not angry. Not defensive. Just calm.

"What's wrong with that, Sengoku?"

A pause.

Her voice softened slightly not in mercy, but in conviction.

"I'm still a mother."

That word hit harder than any attack so far.

Ada cut him off immediately.

"I don't care what you call me."

Her gaze sharpened.

"I care about my son."

The pressure in the air shifted. The Conqueror's Haki didn't flare this time. It didn't need to.

Her presence alone made the point.

"It's only natural," she continued calmly, "to remove the enemies of your child."

A faint tilt of her head.

"As any parent would."

Silence again. But this one was heavier. Because now it wasn't about pirates or justice or war. It was about something the Marines couldn't easily dismiss.

Shanks exhaled slowly again.

"…Yeah."

Beckman glanced at him.

"What?"

Shanks shook his head slightly.

"Nothing."

A faint, tired smile.

"Just thinking that celestial dragon really picked the worst possible person to annoy."

No one laughed. Not this time. Only the sea wind moved across Marineford and even that felt uneasy.

Across Marineford, Charloss suddenly turned pale.

Completely pale.

For the first time since being dragged onto the battlefield he understood.

This wasn't random. This wasn't coincidence. This wasn't politics. This was personal.

And somehow…that was much worse.

His entire body began trembling. "N-No…"

His voice cracked. "No…"

He looked around desperately. Searching for someone. Anyone. To save him.

Then his eyes found Sengoku.

The Admirals.

The Marines.

"MARINES!"

His voice became shrill.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"SAVE ME!"

"I'M A CELESTIAL DRAGON!"

"I'M A GOD!"

The Marines looked away. No one moved. No one answered.

Because even they knew nothing they did would stop what was coming.

Sengoku felt a migraine forming.

A massive one.

He pinched the bridge of his nose. Then Sengoku snapped.

"You brought him here just for that?!"

His voice thundered across Marineford, cutting through the smoke and ruin.

"I don't believe you!"

"…And yet," she said calmly, "he's here."

Sengoku's eye twitched. Violently.

"…Why?"

Ada blinked. Then looked genuinely confused.

"To make an example."

Silence. Pure silence.

Even the younger Marines felt chills. Because she said it so casually. Like she was discussing the weather.

Then Ada looked toward Buggy.

"Buggy."

The clown nearly jumped out of his skin.

"Y-YES MA'AM!!"

His voice cracked.

"Broadcast everything."

Buggy saluted so hard he almost fell over.

"ALREADY DOING IT!"

The giant Den Den Mushi zoomed in immediately.

Its camera focused entirely on Charloss.

No escape. No hiding.

——————————

The whole world would witness everything.

Across the seas, people stopped whatever they were doing.

In taverns, mugs froze halfway to mouths.

In ports, workers stopped unloading cargo.

In kingdoms, nobles and commoners alike stared at giant screens.

In prisons.

In markets.

In hidden revolutionary hideouts.

Everyone watched.

Sabaody Archipelago.

A woman carrying groceries dropped her basket.

Oranges rolled across the street.

"…Is that…" Her eyes widened. "…a Celestial Dragon?"

Water Seven.

Iceburg slowly stood from his desk.

"No way…"

Galley-La workers crowded around him.

Unable to believe what they were seeing.

Dressrosa.

Entire plazas fell silent.

Children stopped playing.

Merchants stopped shouting.

Even soldiers stared upward.

———————

Meanwhile far above the world.

Mary Geoise erupted into chaos.

"The broadcast!"

"Turn it off!"

"WHO ALLOWED THIS?!"

"Protect Saint Charloss!"

Panic spread through the Holy Land.

For the first time in centuries the gods were being humiliated before the entire world.

———————

Back at Marineford

Ada began walking.

One step.

Then another.

Charloss immediately began backing away.

"N-No…"

Ada kept coming.

His breathing became ragged.

"No!"

Closer.

"WAIT!"

Closer.

"PLEASE!"

Then—

BOOOOOOOM!!!

Her kick smashed directly into his face. The impact echoed across Marineford.

Blood exploded from his mouth. Teeth flew through the air.

Charloss spun several times before crashing across the ground.

Screaming.

The entire world gasped.

"A CELESTIAL DRAGON JUST GOT HIT!"

"ON LIVE BROADCAST!"

"SHE KICKED HIM!"

"RIGHT IN THE FACE!"

Charloss rolled through dirt and rubble.

Crying. Bleeding. Whimpering.

His perfect white suit was stained red.

Then he looked up. Hatred filled his eyes.

"You WHORE!"

"You PIRATE SCUM!"

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

"I'LL MAKE YOU MY SLAVE!"

"I'LL HAVE YOUR HEAD AND FEED IT TO MY SLAVES!"

Ada simply stared. Then sighed. Slowly. Deeply.

The disappointment on her face somehow hurt more than anger ever could.

"…You really are pathetic."

Then she looked over her shoulder.

"Tiger."

Fisher Tiger immediately stepped forward.

No hesitation. No questions.

"Captain."

"Bring them."

Tiger nodded.

He already knew.

Without another word, he walked toward the Oro Jackson.

Moments later he returned carrying two large sacks.

Dark red stains soaked through the fabric.

Blood dripped steadily onto the ground.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Charloss stared.

His body froze.

"W-What…"

His voice barely came out.

"What is that…?"

Ada took one of the bags.

Then opened it.

Something rolled out.

Charloss froze.

His pupils shrank to pinpoints.

The battlefield went silent.

Absolute silence.

"No…"

The second bag opened.

Another head rolled across the dirt.

The world stopped.

Saint Roswald.

Saint Shalria.

His father.

His sister.

Dead.

Charloss collapsed backward.

His face completely white.

His lips trembled uncontrollably.

"F-Father…?"

His voice broke.

"S-Sister…?"

Reality shattered around him. The arrogance vanished. The entitlement vanished.

The superiority vanished. Only fear remained. Pure. Raw. Fear.

"NOOOOOOO!!!"

He crawled backward desperately.

His hands shaking.

His tears flowing uncontrollably.

"DON'T KILL ME!!"

"I'LL GIVE YOU MONEY!"

"GOLD!"

"SLAVES!"

"ANYTHING!"

"PLEASE!"

His forehead slammed into the ground.

Again.

And again.

And again.

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"

"I'M SORRY!"

"PLEASE!"

Ada looked down at him. Expressionless.

Then she spoke quietly. "…Funny."

Charloss froze.

"When your slaves begged for mercy…"Her eyes narrowed. "Did you listen?"

Silence.

"When mothers begged you not to take their children…"

Nothing.

"When fathers begged you not to take their wives…"

Still nothing.

"When families were torn apart…"

"When people cried…"

"When people suffered…"

"When people died…"

Ada crouched slightly. Meeting his terrified gaze. Looking directly into his soul.

"Did you care?"

Charloss couldn't answer. Because he knew and everyone watching knew.

The answer was no.

Ada stood.

"…I thought so."

Then she raised her foot.

The world held its breath.

And brought it down.

CRACK.

Charloss screamed.

Another kick.

CRACK.

Blood exploded.

Another.

And another.

And another.

The screams became weaker

The live den den mushi captured everything.

The world watched everything.

Until eventually there was nothing left.

Only blood. Bone fragments and a ruined corpse.

Silence. Absolute silence.

Then Ada kicked the remains toward Sengoku.

The Fleet Admiral's face twisted with rage.

"YOU BASTARD!"

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU JUST DID?!"

Ada looked at him calmly.

"You mean killing him?"

She shrugged.

"I've been doing that for decades, Sengoku. He wasn't the first one."

The older Marines visibly flinched. Because she wasn't exaggerating.

She really had.

Ada pointed toward the corpse. "I did this so the world could see."

Her voice echoed across Marineford.

Across every island.

Across every sea.

"Those Celestial Dragons are not gods."

She stepped on Charloss's broken body.

"They're pigs."

"They bleed."

"They cry."

"They beg."

"And just like everyone else…"

Her eyes narrowed.

"They can die."

The entire world remained frozen.

Then Ada raised her voice.

"But don't worry."

A dangerous smile appeared.

"I'll be eradicating the rest of them soon enough."

Shock exploded across Marineford.

The Admirals stared.

The Vice Admirals stared.

Even Shanks narrowed his eyes.

Then Ada pointed toward the sky.

Toward Mary Geoise.

Toward the land of the Celestial Dragons.

"The age of those so-called gods is ending."

Her Conqueror's Haki crackled around her.

Black lightning split the air.

"And when I'm done…"

Her smile widened.

"The world will finally be free."

No one spoke.

No one moved.

Because for the second time in years someone had publicly declared war on the Celestial Dragons themselves.

And the entire world had witnessed it live.

Author's Note

Some of you might be thinking Ada already proved this when she raided Marie Geoise.

And you're not wrong, she did.

Back then, the world did witness her break into the Holy Land, tear through its defenses, destroy parts of it, and free the slaves held there. That incident was not hidden.

But it was incomplete.

The World Government controlled the aftermath. The full truth of what happened inside Marie Geoise was fragmented, censored, and reduced in public understanding to a "raid" and a "slave escape incident."

What the world did not see back then was the full scope of her actions, especially the direct killing of a Celestial Dragon in real time, under uninterrupted global broadcast.

And that is the key difference now.

This time, there is no cover-up window, no delayed narrative, no controlled version of events.

The entire world is watching it happen live, from beginning to end.

So yes they are shocked.

Not because Ada is doing something entirely new but because, for the first time, the world is seeing her do it without anything being hidden.
