Chapter 422 - Chapter 422: Farewell, The Universe Martial Arts Tournament

Trunks accepted the small pouch, knowing full well what it contained.

"Uncle Goku... everyone... thank you so much!!"

His eyes reddened with emotion.

In this timeline, he had experienced a warmth unlike anything he had ever known.

If only the family and friends from his own future hadn't all died...

"Trunks, wait!!!"

Another voice suddenly rose from below Kami's Lookout.

It was Bulma, who had just returned from Universe 10.

"Bulma?"

"Bulma's here... then where's Lord Gran?"

"..."

As the Z Fighters watched Bulma fly up from the lower world, they instinctively searched behind her.

Two days earlier, they had all felt the overwhelming pressure released by Gran's fury. Yet now, they couldn't see him anywhere.

"M-Mom... Aunt Bulma!"

When Trunks first realized Bulma wasn't here earlier, he had been disappointed. But seeing this Bulma arrive still filled him with happiness.

"Trunks, here. These are for you."

Bulma flew onto the Time Machine and faced Trunks before tossing him a Capsule storage case.

Inside were food, clothes, medicine, and various daily necessities.

She knew how harsh life was in the future timeline, and she hoped these supplies would make life a little easier for Trunks and the others.

"Thank you, Aunt Bulma!"

"Don't mention it. Oh, and there's something else I need to tell you."

Bulma leaned close and whispered something into Trunks' ear.

The Z Fighters looked at each other in confusion.

Why was she suddenly whispering?

Only Piccolo's expression changed.

His pointed ears twitched slightly as his sharp hearing effortlessly picked up every word.

"...Universe 10's Supreme Kai apprentice, Zamasu... go find Lord Beerus..."

Completely unaware that Piccolo had overheard everything, Bulma patted Trunks on the head.

"Did you hear me?"

"I did. I'll go find Lord Beerus. Thank you, Aunt Bulma."

"Good. Then hurry home. Your mother must be worried sick."

Bulma flew back to the others.

Trunks slowly swept his gaze across the familiar faces before him.

Standing inside the cockpit, he bowed deeply once again.

"Goodbye, everyone! If I get the chance... I'll come back again in three years!"

The Androids would appear in three years.

He knew that Uncle Goku and Big Brother Gohan already possessed the strength to defeat Androids 17 and 18.

Even so...

He still wanted to personally witness this timeline surviving safely.

Finally, Trunks closed the canopy and activated the Time Machine.

Whoosh!

The Time Machine vanished from this timeline without a trace.

"So he'll be back in three years..."

Goku stared quietly at the place where Trunks had disappeared.

That was fine too.

When Trunks returned, he could see whether the future timeline had truly overcome its crisis.

And if not...

Then Goku would personally travel to that future timeline and lend a hand.

"I just wonder... if I keep interfering with time like this, will Big Brother Gran hold me accountable?"

Remembering how Gran had frightened Trunks before, Goku couldn't help shivering.

"Goku, Trunks should be able to solve everything in his timeline now, right?"

Bulma turned toward him.

The others immediately looked over as well.

They had been so distracted by Gohan and Vegeta's confrontation earlier that they had completely forgotten to ask about Trunks' future.

"He said he has enough strength now."

Goku smiled.

"And besides, I gave him more than fifty Senzu Beans before he left, so there's nothing to worry about."

More than fifty Senzu Beans...

That was equivalent to more than fifty extra lives.

Especially for a Saiyan like Trunks.

As long as he survived long enough to break through his limits even once in the depths of despair, he could completely turn the tide.

Hearing that, the Z Fighters all breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed those Androids weren't nearly as terrifying as they had imagined.

However...

Piccolo wasn't thinking about the Androids at all.

From Bulma's whispered conversation, he had learned that the future timeline still faced the threat of Zamasu.

Bulma had instructed Trunks to find the Beerus of his own timeline as soon as possible to prevent Zamasu's Zero Mortals Plan.

Let's hope the kid succeeds...

Silence once again settled over Kami's Lookout.

After a while, Goku suddenly remembered something.

"Bulma, why was Big Brother Gran so angry two days ago?"

Everyone's attention immediately shifted back to Bulma.

"Why are you all so nosy?"

Bulma shot them an exasperated glare.

Now that the Zamasu incident was over, she had no intention of bringing it up again. There was no need to make everyone worry.

Little did she know...

Piccolo had already overheard everything.

Moreover, when Bulma had spoken to Trunks, he had also heard that Gran had already dealt with Zamasu.

Since the crisis had been resolved, he naturally chose to keep quiet.

Goku shrank his neck.

Aside from Chi-Chi, Bulma was the second woman he feared most.

He wisely decided not to press the issue.

"Then... where's Big Brother Gran now?"

"Why are you asking where Gran is?"

Bulma asked curiously.

After returning from Universe 10, Gran had dropped her off on Earth before leaving again.

According to him, he was heading back to the God of Destruction's Planet.

"Hasn't the Universe Martial Arts Tournament been the hottest topic across the cosmos lately?"

The moment Goku said that, everyone froze.

None of them had ever heard of such a tournament.

"Goku, you actually know about that?"

Bulma looked genuinely surprised.

The Universe Martial Arts Tournament had been organized by Gran, so naturally she knew all about it.

What surprised her was that Goku had somehow learned of it as well.

Their conversation left the Z Fighters even more confused.

Gohan asked,

"Aunt Bulma... Dad... what exactly are you talking about?"

Krillin scratched his head.

"What do you mean by the Universe Martial Arts Tournament? Is it something like the World Martial Arts Tournament, but for the entire universe?"

"Exactly."

Goku nodded and explained everything he knew about the tournament.

After hearing the full story, every Z Fighter's blood began to boil with excitement.

Especially after learning about the Fruit of Life as one of the rewards.

That was a genuine treasure capable of extending one's lifespan.

"Goku, I'm entering too!!"

"Me too! We have to participate! The Fruit of Life belongs to Universe 7!"

"..."

Watching everyone become so fired up, Goku smiled helplessly.

He had expected exactly this reaction.

"Son Goku... are you entering?"

Leaning against a nearby pillar, Piccolo spoke.

Having mastered Instant Transmission himself, he had also heard rumors of the tournament while traveling through the universe.

The moment he asked, however, he realized it was a pointless question.

Goku had always lived for battles against powerful opponents.

A tournament gathering the greatest fighters from two universes?

There was no way he would miss it.

"Of course."

"But what about the Androids?"

"The Androids can wait."

Goku shook his head.

According to Trunks, the Android Crisis wouldn't begin until Age 767—still three years away.

The Universe Martial Arts Tournament, however, would be held in Age 766.

They could participate in the tournament first...

Then return afterward to deal with the Androids.
