Chapter 259 - Chapter 259: The Corrective Force of History

...

On Earth.

After watching Vegeta's entire escape, a storm surged in Gran's heart.

Thrown into certain death again and again… yet he still managed to survive.

Was this… the so-called protagonist's luck of the Dragon Ball world?

Then Gran suddenly thought of something and turned to Whis.

"Vegeta said just now that he's coming to Earth. With the speed of his spaceship, how long will it take him to get here?"

Whis made a quick estimate before replying:

"Frieza's headquarters is quite far from Earth. At the speed of Vegeta's ship, it should take about a year and a half."

A year and a half?

Gran's eyes widened.

That would place it in Age 761.

And in the original timeline, Age 761 was exactly when Raditz invaded Earth.

"Their fates have already been altered… yet they're still being forcibly drawn toward Earth…"

"Is this… the corrective force of history?"

Gran couldn't calm his thoughts for a long time.

At that moment.

Beside him, Bulma began shaking his arm frantically.

"Gran! That bald guy just used one of my family's Capsule Corp capsules—does that mean he's been to Earth before?!"

In the earlier scene, Nappa had taken out a capsule from Vegeta.

That capsule contained a storage unit—they had hidden a spaceship inside it, which was how they managed to survive.

And that kind of capsule—

Existed only on Earth!

"Vegeta did mention something… 'Good thing we had that woman's capsule.'"

Gran thought for a moment, then looked at Bulma.

"If nothing unexpected happened, the 'woman' he mentioned is most likely your sister—Tights."

"What?!"

Bulma's face paled in shock.

"Then what about my sister? Don't tell me she was killed by that guy Vegeta?!"

Gran was also a little curious whether Tights had survived, so he glanced at Whis.

Whis rolled his eyes at him—but still raised his staff and began searching.

After a moment—

"Found her."

With a gentle wave of his staff, another image appeared in the sky.

In it, Tights and Jaco were aboard a small spacecraft, heading in the direction of Earth.

Whis said calmly:

"Your sister is still alive. She'll return to Earth in about a year."

Gran stroked his chin and added his own analysis:

"Most likely, Vegeta robbed your sister and took the capsule from her."

"Mm…"

Bulma patted her chest, letting out a long breath of relief.

As long as her sister was safe—that was all that mattered.

"Hmph. I told her to come back to Earth earlier. Now she knows how dangerous the outside world is!"

Bulma snorted toward the projection of her sister.

Soon after, Whis dismissed the image, and the courtyard fell quiet again.

Whis simply watched Gran, waiting to see what he would do next.

"Let's go. It's time to head to Universe 6."

Gran shook his head lightly.

"Very well."

Whis paused for a moment but didn't say anything further. With a wave of his staff, he summoned a Universe Travel Cube.

Gran and Broly stepped inside.

At that moment, Bulma hurriedly called out:

"Gran! How long will you be gone this time?"

"Maybe half a month… or maybe several years. It's hard to say."

"Ah?!"

Bulma grew anxious.

"Those three Saiyans will invade Earth in a year and a half! If you're not back by then, what will happen to Earth?!"

"Earth itself is protected by Whis' power—it won't be destroyed."

Gran's tone was calm.

"But as for the fate of Earth's people… that's uncertain."

"Then what should we do? Gran, why don't you leave Broly behind? If he stays on Earth, and that Vegeta guy dares to cause trouble, I'll have Broly beat him to death!"

"No."

Gran glanced at Broly and shook his head.

"Solving Broly's berserk problem has been my plan from the start. That won't change."

"As for the fate of Earth… you'll have to rely on yourselves."

"But…"

"I won't intervene—but I can point you in the right direction."

Gran continued:

"There's still Kakarot on Earth. He is the one destined to save it."

"You can have him go find Kami first. After he returns, build him a gravity chamber."

His guidance pointed to two paths—

One: letting Kami bring Son Goku to King Kai to learn the Kaioken and Spirit Bomb.

Two: compensating for the training Goku would have undergone on the way to Namek.

With Goku's already solid martial foundation, increasing his power would be the easiest path forward.

If nothing went wrong—

From Age 761 onward, Vegeta would spend his life trailing behind Kakarot.

"Then… goodbye."

Gran was about to signal Whis to activate the cube when he suddenly turned back and said to Bulma:

"Oh, right. I told you before—you're a provider for Lord Beerus and Whis."

"We won't allow anyone to kill you. You can rest assured."

Hearing this, Whis didn't refute him—silently acknowledging the statement.

Bulma opened her mouth, but in the end, only a soft "Mm…" came out.

Her safety was guaranteed…

But what about her family?

In the end, Gran and the others still left Earth.

Bulma stood in the courtyard for a long time.

Night had already fallen.

After a brief moment of thought, she ignored her exhaustion from the past six months and immediately flew toward Mount Paozu.

Half an hour later.

Bulma arrived.

Inside, Son Goku was having dinner with Chi-Chi.

"Eh? Bulma, what are you doing here?"

Goku set down his food and looked toward the door.

Chi-Chi, equally confused, quickly invited Bulma inside.

"Goku, something bad is coming—Earth is about to face a crisis!"

"What?!"

Goku shot to his feet.

He and Chi-Chi spoke in unison:

"What happened?!"

Bulma quickly explained everything about Vegeta and the others invading Earth in a year and a half.

After hearing it all—

Chi-Chi's eyes filled with fear.

But Goku was different.

His whole body trembled—not from fear, but from excitement.

"This is amazing! Fighting opponents like that must be incredible!"

He clenched his fists, thrilled.

Suddenly....

Two fingers grabbed his ear.

"Ow ow ow!"

Goku winced in pain.

Chi-Chi snapped:

"Earth is about to be in danger, and you're still excited?!"

Then she turned to Bulma.

"Where's Big Brother Gran?"

Before Bulma could answer—

"Chi-Chi, did you forget what Big Brother Gran said before?"

Goku gently removed her hand, his expression turning serious.

"He's a god—he won't interfere lightly in the affairs of the universe."

"In this situation… we can only rely on ourselves."

Seeing Goku suddenly become serious, both Chi-Chi and Bulma felt their hearts steady.

"Bulma, did Big Brother Gran say anything else?" Goku asked.

"He told me to have you go find Kami. And after you come back, I should build a gravity chamber for your training."

"I see…"

Goku fell into thought.

He didn't fully understand Gran's intentions—but as a being standing above all, Gran's words surely had meaning.

"Then I'll head to Kami right now. I'll leave the gravity chamber to you."

"Don't worry! For the sake of Earth, I'll definitely build it!"

"Alright, I'm off!"

Without even finishing dinner, Goku rushed out of the house, riding the Flying Nimbus toward the Lookout.

Bulma didn't linger either.

She hurried back to West City to work with her father on building the gravity chamber.

Meanwhile.

In the shadows of Mount Paozu, a green figure lurked silently.

He had heard everything.

"So… aliens are coming to invade Earth?"

"Hmph. Earth belongs to me. If anyone wants to touch what's mine… they'll have to answer to my fists first!"

"But…"

"Now that Son Goku has left… this is the perfect opportunity!"

"If I take his son and raise him into a demon…"

"Then watching father and son slaughter each other in the future…"

"That'll be quite the spectacle!"

"Hahahaha!"

The green figure burst into manic laughter—

Then silently crept toward Goku's house.
