Moriasaki appearance had caused all the people present in the cafeteria expectant to whatever scene who was about to cause, but contrarily to their expectations, Moriasaki came here to actually apologize, together with all his friends .
After I accepted his apology, I couldn't help but think that of the words that Watanabe-senpai had said a few hours ago this morning, about him being a good guy, his attitude was just due to the school system going over his head and inflating his ego a bit too much .
But this encounter had me revaluate my own thoughts regarding people, I seem to have overlooked something and that something was how all the people here were still students who to a certain extent know nothing about the real world outside and how it actually work .
This understanding caused me to misjudge him, or it's more accurate to say that not realizing this sooner made my judgment be clouded, though after realizing this, I'm starting to believe that I should be able to interact effectively and efficiently with the students here, in hope to reach them and convince them at one point to accept the reformation of the school system, I had in mind .
But even though most of the people here were like Moriasaki, lacking experience and immature, there were still a few people who seemed completely aware of how the world revolved around them, having enough experience and maturity, those should be my targets for now .
After I finished contemplating, Moriasaki was bowing down to Mizuki now apologizing for what he said and was about to do yesterday, the girl was quite light-hearted and she accepted his apology shyly and for some reason I found her looking at me as she did so, which broke my chain of thoughts and forced me back to my senses .
Then Moriasaki after he apologized to everyone present and made sure that his apology got accepted by all of the people here, he excused himself and moved away from us, his friends also followed him, all but two girls, Honoka and Shizuku, one looked embarrassed and her face was flushed red and the other had a deadpan expression on her face, that made her seem uninterested in even being here .
Seeing that they were the only one still standing in front of our table, we all couldn't help but look at them and all of us seem to be thinking of the same thing, what exactly were those guys wanting now ? .
As this question appeared in my mind, I saw Shizuka with her normal deadpan expression suddenly nodding her head as if greeting all of us, then she said :
Me and my friend here would like to join you, if you don't have a problem with that, of course .
As she took the initiative in saying this, Honoka seemed to have gathered all the strength and confidence she can muster and nodded her head, seeing their polite attitude, we all looked at each other and seem to have already made our minds, Erika being quite talented in this sort of thing, directly held hands with the two of them and brought them to their seats .
Then she started to introduce all of us to them and seeing this, the girl with brown yellowish hair Honoka seemed to release a breath of relief for some reason, Shizuku then introduced herself lightly, then Erika seemed to have recognized her family business and the two started to indulge in a short conversation with each other .
Honoka seemed to be already feeling that she was getting excluded, stood up and introduced herself as well, almost yelling her name out loud for all the people present to hear, a few uninvited gazes looked in our direction and were wondering what was going on with all the ruckus .
Honoka seeing that she this time was the one causing a scene, she directly sat back down and buried herself in her chair, coincidentally a hand reached out to her and took her hand, while another hand reached out to her and did the same from the other side, Shizuku and Mizuki were the ones who made her finally calm down with their actions .
Erika trying to lighten up the weird and tensed atmosphere between all of them, told Mizuki that Honoka was acting almost identical to how she introduced herself yesterday, Mizuki looked at all of us trying to get confirmation about whether was this really true ? .
All of us nodded our head and she too seemed to become embarrassed and tried to excuse herself and head for the toilet again, but this time her embarrassment was swept away by the unexpected question that came from Shizuku, her question did caught all of us present off guard, she said :
So you guys have only known each other for a day, we thought that you were old friends or something based on how familiar you seemed to be with one another .
Two guys in particular from our group seem to have been ticked by Shizuku's words, Leo and Erika glared at each other and said in unison :
Not a chance, we just have mutual friends and that's all .
Them saying this together made them look indeed close to one other, they were currently bickering like friends at least in my opinion, Shizuku was surprised at this and couldn't help but seek confirmation from all of those whe was sitting around the table .
Most of them nodded and each one had told the story about how they came to group together like this, Erika, Mizuki, Tatsuya, all met with stroke of fate and some luck, at least that was how Erika was describing it, then me and Juvia, they didn't seem to have any intention of gossiping to the others about what Juvia had said regarding what our relationship was and that was a bit of relief .
I just told them that we know each other since some time now, way before entering school, they simply nodded and then Miyuki started to explain how she came in contact with this group of people here, her brother and sister relationship was the catalyst of this, Leo then said that he was in the same class with Tatsuya and were taking the same course, then he met the others .
He didn't forget to provoke Erika with his words, the two once again started to glare at one another, making these sorts of Introductions and talking about how we all got together, seemed to have lightened the atmosphere quite a lot and it became a bit more joyful even .
The scene allowed both of them a bit freedom and room to share their own stories as well, the two started to explain that they know one another since primary school, at first we thought that this should mean that they were childhood friends, but Shizuku surprised us with her deadpan expression and her saying that they were actually rivals .
At least for most of time that they had spent in that period, then they happened to run into each other again in their next stage and only then did they started to get along with one another and become inseparable like this .
The two make the scene turn from being joyful to one full of warm in an instant, Erika being the lightheaded person she was, directly clasped their hands directly and said :
You two are in .
I initially didn't grasp the meaning behind her words, but then I had understood what she meant after seeing Honoka still wondering if they can really join our group or not, I wanted to say that I had no clue that we had already formed a group to begin with, not because I didn't enjoy their company .
It's just, I had a few things in mind at this particular time, not to mention that I had a target on my head, them being recognized as my friends might threaten their lives, something that I didn't want to see happening because of me .
But just as I was about to open my mouth, I felt my leg being kicked by 3 different people, I didn't even need to check who they were, their pained expressions were enough to tell me who tried to kick me just now, but how strong my current physical body, this I had no clue about it myself .
All I can tell that I might be strong enough to meet bullets fired by magic without any use of magic and purely with my physical body, so them kicking me backfired on them instantly, they had kicked an iron plate this time, the first two who chose to kick me weren't that shocking, Miyuki and Erika .
I was a bit shocked that even the timid Mizuki had decided to do this as well, using Magic I alleviate their pain, Miyuki was keeping a straight face but her cheeks twitched slightly, the other two were in a more serious problem .
But after the pain dissipated they regained their normal expressions, if blushing could be said to be normal these days that is, but now that I thought about it, it actually started to be, I luckily had understood what they were trying to tell me and that was to just shut up and accept it .
I thought that Erika had not liked me be around, but it seem that she had changed her opinion of me somehow, I couldn't help but look at her and saw that she was still blushing but her blush turned into a hatful glare the second I looked at her and she directly started to finish her meal or at least tried to act like she was doing so .
Honoka seeing me staring at Erika, for some reason she became interested in knowing how we two happened to encounter each other, I was about to say that I had run into them yesterday and that she was against me joining them, but then I saw Erik's blush become even more intense and she almost choked on the soup she was having .
She coughed slightly and was handed a handkerchief from Mizuki to clean her face up, then she beat me into explaining rabidly that we had lunch together yesterday and that she was very fond of me joining them, hearing her say this, me, Leo and even Tatsuya for the first time, we couldn't help but roll our eyes at her .
She glared at all of us and we were forced to break eye contact with her, else she might really do something dangerous here, but I was still thinking about the intensity of her blush increasing just now, wondering what exactly was she blushing for, I couldn't help but recall all my memories of what happened in these last two days and the only conclusion I reached was that she didn't like Pink Rabbits .
That was the only logical conclusion that I managed to reach after extensive research, I found that she started reacted like this after I winked at her back when Fluffy was entertaining the audience, so either she didn't like Fluffy in particular or it was me whom she she didn't like, but the latter was proving to be unlikely from seeing her reaction just now .
Erika was outspoken person who didn't care much about what she said and did so her being angry at me for myself, she would have directly told me about it and made her opinion clear, unless it was something silly that might make people laugh at her, like her not liking fluffy as an example .
After she gave a brief few words about how we met, the two girls were suspiciously looking at her, but they soon dropped the topic, I turned to Miyuki and thought that her expression was quite weird, I wanted to ask what's up with her, but noticing me staring at her made her face become straight again, which made me quite baffled, but certain that she didn't want me to ask, I dropped the idea as it appeared .
We sat there in the cafeteria talking about all sort of things, like favourite colour and pets, then the conversation started to become more ridiculously personal, at least on the girls side, they talked about their dreams, hopes, a troublemaker had tried to instigate them to talk about their love life, but the bell indicating the lunch hour over sounded and save us all the trouble .
I sat from my chair and once again reminded Tatsuya to ask about what I had asked him before telepathically, he assured me that he will try, but for some reason I felt that it would be better for me to try and get the info about what happened from a girl .
Mizuki came to my mind, but I doubt that she will be able to bring herself to do something like this, the other two girls here are not that close to Erika and asking them to do this was quite the risky thing to do, so I was left with Juvia who for some reason contributed the least in the conversation that we were having .
She answered with ' yes, no ' on every question directed at her, it seem that she wasn't fond of this kind of atmosphere, or maybe she just wasn't feeling okay, either way, I didn't think that she would be able to bring herself to ask Erika about the truth of what happened and I didn't want to force her .
So this only left me with one last person, Miyuki, sending her a signal through telepathy, she shifted his head from her brother's face to mine, then she asked telepathically about what was going on, I briefed her on what I wanted her to do and she gave me a nod and said that she would see what she can do, but her expression was just too weird .
I thought that maybe it was because my sudden request, I finished dealing with this, bid them all farewell and stepped out of the cafeteria and returned to my class, after my school day was over and my patrol as public morals committee member was over as well, the communication device that I had gotten from Watanabe-senpai rang .
I accepted the call and the president of the Public Morals Committee was on the other end of the phone, she said :
Get to school early tomorrow, we have an urgent meeting, don't be late .
Before I even say anything in response the call was cut off, I couldn't help but shake my head as the thought of having to wake up early everyday crossed my mind, but then I remembered my mother's words and my body who no longer required sleep to function and still felt bothered by this for some reason .
