Three months passed. They had stabilized all the fractures in the kingdom, trained hundreds of people to recognize and manage new ones as they appeared and gathered a small group of volunteers ready to travel to other worlds. The star in the sky grew brighter each night a sign that time was running out.
The portal back to Lyra's world was opened in a clearing outside the capital, guarded by soldiers and watched by thousands of people who had come to see them off. Lyra stood on the other side, her starlight robes glowing in the silver light of the portal.
"You have done well," she said as Clara and the others stepped through. "The fractures on your world are stable, and your people are prepared for what is to come. But the web cannot be rebuilt by keepers alone your allies from this world will be crucial to weaving together the threads of power across the cosmos."
Lyra led them to the Heart of Creation, which now glowed with a faint golden hue alongside its silver light. Around the chamber stood other keepers who had traveled from distant worlds each with eyes that held the depth of their own skies, each bearing a fragment of a node.
"The other keepers have been summoned," Lyra explained. "We have found three more nodes in the past months. Only two remain unaccounted for and we believe we know where they lie."
She gestured to a map that appeared in the air before them, showing a network of glowing points spanning the stars. "One is hidden on a world of endless oceans, where power is woven into the tides themselves. The other rests on a planet of fire and stone, guarded by beings who have forged their lives in heat and pressure."
Clara looked at her companions Kai, Mara, Alessandro, and the dozen volunteers who had chosen to join their quest. They had trained hard, learned the ways of balancing power, and proven their commitment to protecting all worlds.
"We'll split into two teams," she said firmly. "Alessandro and I will go to the ocean world. Kai and Mara will lead the group to the fire planet. Lyra, you and the other keepers will stay here to maintain the Heart and coordinate our efforts across the web."
Lyra nodded, her gaze sweeping over each of them. "The journey will not be easy. Each world will test you in ways you cannot imagine. But remember power is not about strength alone. It is about understanding, about respect, about working with the world around you rather than against it."
That evening, they prepared for their journeys. The portals to the two worlds were opened side by side in the ruins, their light casting red sand into dancing patterns on the ground. As Clara stepped toward her portal, Kai pulled her aside.
"Be careful," he said. "We've come too far to lose anyone now."
"We will," Clara promised. "And we'll meet back here once both nodes are found. Together, we'll finish what the First People started and build a web that connects us all in balance, not control."
Alessandro called from the portal, its blue-green light shimmering like water. "Ready, Clara?"
She took one last look at her world's star in the alien sky, then turned to join him. "Ready. For all of us."
As they stepped through, the portal closed behind them, leaving only the hum of power and the promise of what lay ahead. The shadows of the old order were fading, and in their place, a new light was beginning to weave its way across the cosmos one thread at a time.
