Chapter 18 - Humanity

They say humans are social animals, and I appreciate the sentiment wholeheartedly. 'But why the fuck do these people not leave me alone for a second?' I lamented.

It has been three days since the tribal chief adopted me; since then, these people have been staring at me like Sergeant James Doakes from Dexter.

My adoptive mother holds me in her embrace all the time, not giving me time to summon the beyonder potion.

After my mother got tired of taking care of me, my adopted sister took her place, keeping an eye on me.

At night, the surveillance was even stricter. From the looks of it, my adoptive father and the elder of the tribes were psykers, and summoning the potion would only bring more scrutiny.

Overall, the patriarch was already wary of me, but if he found even the slightest thing wrong with me, then I am washed, marinated with spices, and cooked. The reason for that is we all know what paranoid humans are capable of, like certain chosen race from 2k era.

One more noteworthy thing is that the attacks on the tribe's caravan have increased since my arrival on the planet.

It seems deliberate, like some being behind the scenes wants me isolated and hated, causing me to be more prone to daddy issues and manipulation, which in turn gives me bona fide reason to sleep with four guys, like certain genders from ancient Terra's typical chaos strategy.

If I were a young demigod, I would have fallen for these schemes, but jokes on them; I am a grown, well-groomed incel from the 2k era.

(Back to present scene)

The tribe's warriors defended the tribe from the warp beasts, while uneased females and young tribesmen prepared medical supplies for the injured.

Finally, a rare moment occurred when my mother and sister left me alone to help the tribe.

The gene-sire physique of mine can let me walk and talk like a full-grown adult, but now is not the right time to show my martial prowess and slime these warp beasts. The reason for not taking action: this is my fortitude test for the people of the tribe.

I know most people will say that it is a cold-blooded test, but the cesspool in which I had the honor of being reincarnated is not for the people with tender hearts.

If the tribe falls to the temptation of the so-called Gods, then I will personally purge them, but if they choose to persevere, then they will be my vanguard to conquer the entirety of Prospero.

Speaking of chaos, when I arrived in this cesspit. From the start, I have been too impulsive, and I know it was due to the Primarch physique; my ailments from my previous life were removed.

The state of being able to feel caused me to be rash, from the hunt in the Warp to entering into contract with a Tzeentch sorcerer to go toe to toe with Chaos gods on the eve of dispersion.

I reminded myself not to be impulsive and always be cautious of Chaos to avoid the fate of my canon counterpart. I pondered my future ventures while drawing the ritual circle on the inner side of a clean diaper because it is easy to camouflage the ritual with shit stains.

After finishing the ritual, I got the Sequence 9 potion of the Hunter pathway. Honestly, I was nervous because, from what I read in canon, this liquid was wrapped in power, but deep down it represents madness.

So after gathering my courage, I drank the potion, leaving nothing behind in the test tube. I anticipated colon-tearing pain, but nothing came.

'Well, that was anticlimactic.' I mused.

But a second later, the pain hit like an alcoholic blue-collar worker hit his wife after a long day. It was gut-wrenching pain that engulfed my whole being.

Initially, I thought that would be the end of it, but instead of calming down, my whole body spasmed, and I found myself floating in the sea.

I knew this sea from my earlier incursion; at the same time, my soul was changing.

After gathering my wits, I tried to seize control, but all my efforts were in vain. In desperation, I tried to recall my previous knowledge of LOTM canon that may help me in this predicament.

I tried imagining things that don't exist in this world, which was nearly impossible because, in 2k, everything I could imagine existed. Then I tried the meditation method that was mentioned in canon.

Maybe the goddess of luck was on my side, as the focus on drawing the circle of light helped me set the spirituality in my body.

I examined the change that happened in my soul. Suddenly, my soul plummeted as if the gravity increased severalfold. After falling for Emperor, know how much time passed; I found myself back in my finely crafted body.

As implied in LOTM, my physical aspects grew stronger with instinctive knowledge of hunting swirling in my brain, and my superhuman brain absorbed it at a visible rate.

Not only could this knowledge be applied to hunting beasts; it could be applied to humans as well. This knowledge integrated with the database of warfare knowledge installed by the emperor.

Meanwhile, I was inner monologuing that the battle with the warp beast had ended.

(POV: Ahsolman)

'Ever since that boy who was touched by fire crash-landed on us, the warp beast attacks on the tribe's caravan have increased as if some entity behind the scenes is playing with us as a predator plays with its food.' I pondered with a grim expression.

After seeing the casualties of my fellow tribe members mounted on after another, I was tempted to abandon this jinx of a boy. But seeing that my dearest and kindest daughter cared for his new adopted sibling, I would never forgive myself for abandoning the boy.

(POV: Magnus)

After scouring my surroundings to make sure that none of the tribe members watched my unusual behaviour, I sighed with relief. Watching the sand-filled Prospero, I recalled the canon from my memory; in the canon, Prospero should have been the lush green planet, not this ball of sand.

Also, there should have been six cult schools of Pysker discipline, but from the talks of my surrounding crowd I heard nothing about these cults.

According to the calculations, two possibilities could have occurred: either the planet I am on is not Prospero, or the other, butterfly effect has occurred due to my earlier actions.

Sadly, I am not in optimal condition to determine either possibility; I have to bide my time to grow up, because this gene-sire body will be my startup capital against my future endeavors.

After my long inner monologuing, which readers find annoying, our caravan started moving, and a scene came into view that made every desert dweller jump with joy; it was not crude oil but an oasis.

Our tribe arrived at the oasis entrance. As the weary tribe members arrived at the land of green lush, I suddenly smelled a unique aroma; well, call an aroma was quite a stretch; rather, it was the stench of burned meat, pus, and rot.

When the smell wafted through my hunter's nose, my heart sank because this smell only represents the presence of one of the nastiest Chaos Gods, Nurgle.

I started to think that, as a countermeasure to the so-called "love of Grandpa Nurgle", I tried to gauge the reaction of surrounding fellow tribesmen.

Their reaction spun me around as they all looked relaxed and at ease. I assumed the tribe leader was cautious. 'Cautious my ass!' I screamed inwardly.

Seeing my discomfort, my personal milk provider assured me, "Don't worry! Our Goddess protects this oasis and all the oasisis that are on this planet; every abomination that tries to enter or any psyker that tries to use their power burns and turns to dust by the will of Goddess."

Hearing her preaching to me the bullshit gospel of Goddesses, I raised my guard a notch. Because in this cesspit every God is equivalent to disaster and calamity.

I had my suspicions; it could be some xenotech trying to herd humans like cattle, or maybe it's the Eldari goddess of life, Isha, the one cooking up some scheme to gain her freedom from her jailer.

As we entered the central area of the oasis, at the center there was a pond of water, and around the center there was an area of 50 meters devoid of trees; there were dense trees around the area, and after that area there were carcasses of the abomination and corrupted psyker who were burning.

It was a bizarre scene; outside that area, it was a place filled with grass and trees from where we entered the oasis.

I was on guard, trying not to slip up, but after constantly traveling through sand, it was a nice change of scenery. I was weary because before I even took a step in this new world, I felt trapped in the strings of a web from which I must extract myself carefully.

'Well, it is a problem for my future self to face for the time being; I must relax.' I thought.

Give me those powerstones to reach top rank. To deny this book of Powerstone is heresy to the God Emperor.

Jokes aside, I am sorry for disappearing for so long; I was busy with my job, so I didn't have time to write the story. I gave my all to that job, but in the end I was fired for the so-called optimization.

Well, screw them. I will upload one chapter each day, so rejoice, subjects of the Emperor; the imperial scribe is back.
