Chapter 269 - Chapter 268: Ferocious and Unyielding

Dane stabilized himself in mid-air, and looking back, Doomsday's injuries had healed, and his aura was even stronger than before!

"He absorbed your power; the energy in his body has increased by twenty percent," Cortana faithfully analyzed.

Doomsday clenched his fists, and red electric arcs flashed on them; this was a new ability he had developed by absorbing Dane's energy.

He took a step, but suddenly his foot found no ground, and a deep pit appeared beneath his feet.

What followed was a thick jet of Water that impacted Doomsday, pushing him into the sky.

From within the ground spring, Arthur suddenly emerged, carrying his trident, and surged into the sky with the Water current.

Then, taking advantage of Doomsday's restricted movement, he jabbed him with the trident; magic lightning crackled as it struck him.

This caused Doomsday to roar repeatedly from the electric shock, but at the same time, the cells in his body were rapidly absorbing the power of the magic lightning.

Seeing this, Martian Manhunter quickly stepped forward to assist; he hardened his body with his abilities, striking Doomsday with super-strength punch after punch.

At the same time, he didn't forget to remind Arthur, "Arthur, don't use any energy attacks on him; he can absorb them!"

Arthur immediately reined in the magic lightning.

Doomsday, after enduring several attacks from Martian Manhunter, quickly adapted to the intensity.

His endless power needed to be unleashed, so he grabbed Martian Manhunter's hands and delivered two headbutts that left Martian Manhunter dazed.

Then he threw another punch.

Martian Manhunter jolted, instantly entering intangible mode and escaping from Doomsday's grasp.

Seeing that he couldn't hold onto his opponent for the moment, Doomsday immediately targeted Arthur behind him.

He pulled the trident that had pierced his body out with one hand; to him, this divine weapon was like a toothpick stuck in his flesh.

Next, he reached back, grabbed Arthur in front of him, and punched him in the back, instantly sending him flying and temporarily incapacitating him.

Martian Manhunter hastily exited intangible mode to provide support, but little did he know Doomsday had already targeted him.

Just as he thought Doomsday's attention wasn't on him, he was grabbed by the head with one hand and thrown into a building.

Coincidentally, it was a gas station.

So Martian Manhunter was engulfed in Fire, wandering around the gas station like an idiot.

Dane glanced at him; although he didn't scream, he was far from having any combat capability.

He waved his hand, controlling the weather, causing heavy rain to fall and extinguish the flames on Martian Manhunter's body.

Batman did not participate in the battle; he clearly felt that with his abilities, he couldn't pose any threat to the opponent, so he had been observing.

At this moment, he narrowed his eyes and pressed his earpiece.

"Cortana, you said before that this monster came from a Kryptonian spaceship. Do you think it might be a Kryptonian creature?"

"There is only one humanoid creature on Kryptonian."

Batman understood: "In other words, this monster is very likely a monster transformed from a Kryptonian."

"Indeed."

Batman switched the channel to Red Hood: "Jason, did you hear that?"

Red Hood replied curtly: "Received."

Then the nanoparticles on his body began to assemble, forming a large sniper rifle glowing with dark green light.

A green Kryptonite bullet was pushed into the chamber.

He aimed the scope at Doomsday, the muzzle brake let out a soft gunshot, and the Kryptonite warhead flew out.

But Doomsday's hearing was extremely sharp, and he immediately turned his head to avoid the bullet.

The Kryptonite bullet only grazed him.

However, a bullet traveling at supersonic speeds could not hit the even faster Doomsday in this situation.

Just like in the movies, Clark getting hit was entirely due to his carelessness; otherwise, no one could hit him.

But Dane immediately appeared before Doomsday, swinging the Axe of Ares fiercely at his body.

Having learned his lesson once, Doomsday did not contend with the battle-axe but nimbly dodged it.

His two large eyes glowed crimson, and two thick heat visions shot out.

Dane's eyes also lit up with lightning, and lightning rays shot out, colliding with the opponent's heat vision. The two energies clashed, heat dissipated, and the air became scorching hot.

Big eyes had an advantage; their output was much thicker than Dane's rays.

So he flung the battle-axe, and it spiraled out, aiming for Doomsday's waist.

Doomsday, of course, could only choose to avoid it, but in doing so, he exposed an opening to Dane.

Dane immediately retracted his lightning eyes; he couldn't provide any absorbable energy to the opponent, it was best to use pure physical attacks to take him down.

So he flew forward, with divine speed and divine power, heavily striking Doomsday and sending him flying high.

And behind Doomsday, Superman had been waiting there, he didn't know when.

He had already figured out that this monster was on par with him in stamina, strength, speed, and energy, but he couldn't fly!

This was his only advantage now, so he waited here to catch this monster and then shoot straight into the sky.

"What is Clark trying to do? An Earth throw?"

In the animated movie, he indeed succeeded, but now it might not be the case.

Dane had just felt that this Doomsday seemed much tougher than the one in the movie; he might not die.

Moreover... did Clark forget that this thing was essentially a Kryptonian too, and couldn't be exposed to the Sun?

Clark had indeed forgotten; no, it should be said that he hadn't even thought of that.

Judging a book by its cover described him perfectly; seeing Doomsday's strange appearance, he subconsciously didn't consider him a Kryptonian.

Especially since he had only recently returned to the human World from hell, he still had some after-effects.

However, when he took Doomsday into outer space, the sunlight was still far beyond Earth's curve, and Doomsday had not yet been exposed to it.

Clark at this point began pushing Doomsday back towards Earth, using his speed to firmly pin Doomsday down, preventing him from escaping.

Even though he was hit by Doomsday's fists and elbows, making his back ache, he didn't utter a sound.

At this moment, Dane's voice came from inside his battlesuit.

"Clark, don't let him touch the sunlight, I repeat, don't let him touch the sunlight!"

But in the current situation, Clark couldn't speak, but it didn't matter.

As he thought this, they were getting closer and closer to the ground. Clark hid himself behind Doomsday's body, bringing him down like a meteor falling to Earth.

A towering pillar of mud and rock erupted in the center of St. Roch, and the huge Impact bent the surrounding trees.

Dane flew towards their falling direction and saw Clark standing up from Doomsday's body.

He seemed fine, not faking his Death or falling unconscious like in the movie.

"Are you alright?"

He flew down and stood beside Clark.

Clark shook his head, indicating he was fine.

The Sun he had endured these past few years wasn't for nothing; his endurance was much stronger than the 'bean-eyed' Superman in the movie version.

And after numerous major battles, his current combat power, while not enough to defeat Doomsday, was certainly sufficient to ensure his survival against him.

"Thump-thump" --!

Dane and Clark stopped talking. They exchanged glances, both having heard the sound, then turned their gaze to Doomsday on the ground.

"Thump-thump" --!

Another heartbeat. Cortana's voice appeared in both their ears at the opportune moment.

"He's still alive!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Dane and Clark both jumped back.

The next second, a thunderous roar echoed through the sky.

Doomsday, resurrected!

Dane should have realized earlier that this thing wasn't so easy to kill.

Although in the movie, Superman killed him using Earth's gravity.

But if he could be dealt with so simply, there was no reason why those aliens back then would have sealed him away.

As a civilization capable of interstellar travel, why didn't they just let him crash into a massive celestial body and be done with it?

Why seal him?

As Lex Luthor said, those aliens sealed him instead of killing him because they simply couldn't kill him.

Dane could feel that this latest resurrection had further strengthened Doomsday's physique, making him even harder to kill.

He decisively pulled out the Kiss of Death, ready to strike him.

But Doomsday just roared at him, then turned and decisively flew towards the sky.

That's right, now he had learned to fly!

It was Clark who taught him.

Dane looked in the direction he flew, immediately seeming to understand something, and quickly called out to Clark.

"Chase him quickly! He's looking for the Sun!"

Clark instantly jolted; he was already difficult to deal with at night, and if he were to be exposed to the Sun again... He quickly followed Dane into the sky to give chase.
