Null woke up...
Milkly eyes, black stripes of hair, a gun pointed straight at a boy, shadows and blood.
Ya the same dream.
Yet for some reason he always cried, like he mourned the kid in the dream.
Or nightmare...I-It did scare him a bit...
He shifted and...something was off.
He didn't move his head, as he moved his eye to his right side, seeing scarred familiar hands on a steering wheel. Then to his left seeing a brownish blonde dreadlock rest on a absurdly built chest.
He brought his eye to stare straight ahead at the window that had, trees and shrubs but they were few, being passed in a blur.
Null felt like he wanted to cry, like why? Did he wake up on the lap of his uncle, in a cocoon of a blanket, that was blue and had yellow stars on it.
He accepted his fate in his current state as he waited for the best time to escape, without waking up Midas, but with his uncle he didn't care...too much.
So he gathered himself about to announce his presence of mind.
"We're close to a well known city, you'll get what you need there and out of this situation here, before goldy wakes up." Ron spoke a smile apparent on his face.
Null crumpled into himself, red flushing his face, he just nodded as greenery began to be a bit more common as they got closer to the city.
What he thought before about the in-betweens of cities being a rocky desert landscape is true, same thing applied when mentioning that the entrances or the area around or nearing a city had large amounts of lush green fields and few trees.
As he thought this, they approached closer to the city they were approaching.
Null turned his head towards the city and his eyes met a beautiful sight to him, green lush grass and tall trees far from each other. They all cast shades in the morning light.
As then a wall 400 feet tall it was a pale peach cream with a gold light emanating from inside the wall in a line close to the top,
bending around the wall. It stood against the sunlight casting a quite large and daunting shadow upon the ground.
"You're mouth is hanging open, best to close it before a fly gets in." Ron said at the boy who immediately shut his mouth and pouted at him before continuing to admire the scenery, then his face scrunch in thought.
"Uncle?"
"What up?"
"Why doesn't Chrome City have a wall like this city?" Null asked.
"Well, i don't think people in such a city like Chrome, would need a inanimate object to protect them, when they have cybernetics and Metas to do so." Ron answered.
"And what about this city, why do they need a wall for?"
"It's a classism built city, so they use the walls to represent this ideal, if i remember correctly there are more walls inside the larger one, the one you're seeing is called Dawn, where people live in poor conditions, the second one is called Morning, which is barely different from the first, the third is called Noon, which is the middle class of the city where things aren't awful, there acceptable but not to lavish obviously, then there's the fourth wall called Afternoon, that is where the lavish and comfortable things appears and stays, then the fifth is called Dusk. That is where the mayor and noble people stay..." Ron said as his tone seemed to turn dark, distasteful even and venomous of sorts.
Null didn't really say anything as he kept quiet.
"It's sad how toyed with is the word 'noble'." Ron crumbled out as he kept quiet after.
Null did the same as he saw the city get closer in view.
"I wonder."
"Hmmm?" Ron glanced at the boy.
"Is the food, day phases themed too?" Null pondered out loud with a deeply contemplating expression.
Ron looked at the approaching city and chuckled a bit, as his heart seem to lighten a bit.
He ruffled Null's head, who was confused at why this is being done to him, and all he could do is wiggle around.
Ron stopped as a small smile appeared on his face, "Your close but not that close, there are some food that is themed, but not day phases themed, rather sun themed."
Null raised a brow at his uncle's so sure answer, but before addressing that he asked, "Why sun themed?"
"Because the City is called Sun Hit city, so they make it their whole thing, since the person who founded the city was...weird you could say."
"And why not change it?" Null asked
To that Ron chuckled, "Well, hmm" Ron paused with a smile growing on his face, "Weird doesn't mean wrong."
Null, grew a face that could be expressed in words, what you saying, no what do you mean by that?
"The founder of Sun Hit, was in tone, poetic."
Null just kept staring at him judgingly, to that Ron just shook his head and chuckled, "The founder wanted to establish a city with a bright, happy prosperous future, though that didn't mean they wouldn't have struggles and there was many in fact, yet the founder never gave up, and if he wanted his city to have a bright future, where else than a hill in between the transition of lush green fields and a dessert wasteland where the Sun Hit first, in miles in hundreds of miles at least that's where the Sun Hit, and so it's name sake and theming after the founder and sunlight, which was his meta-ability."
Null looked at the wall slowly approaching closer, yet close enough that he couldn't see the top from his current position, "You paint him out as a nice guy, but what sort of nice guy creates division in his people by placing some beneath others?"
"Because he is a nice guy, a great one even from what I heard when I was last here, to my info the people behind it are the ones who took over after his death." Ron said as he kept driving forward, close to the large rectangular gate of yellow brown and gold metal, though it looked sliver and what made these colors, were the specific highlights placed on the metal to give off these yellow, brown and gold when the sun hit it.
"..." Null kept quite as he took in the information, "Then how did he die?"
"Suicide, they say."
"That, to me doesn't make sense." Null said frowning at the cause of death. Ron smiled at that, "Ya, neither did it make sense to me, they say the man felt a immense guilt and sorrow due to the deaths that occured during the struggles they faced. Though the story of people who met him say that he 'always looked at the brighter side.' saying that was always his ideal way of growing and progressing, also his catch phrase."
Null hearing this further thought it made no sense for the man to end his life like that, even so he still asked, "What if he hit his limit?"
Ron than spoke in a darker manner as his face never let the smile escape him.
"That's the thing, why would a man, with a happy family and a prospering city, take his life in times of peace, after all their last major struggle was 50 years ago before when the founder died, and their latest struggle before his death was about men singing joyful songs at night, on a man's night out in the streets."
Null kept staring out at the wall as they arrived at the gate.
"How long are we staying for?"
"You don't need to know, just relax and enjoy your time here?" Ron said stopping the car Infront of the gate entrance.
Null didn't press further...he was being vague again.
He got out and held Null's cocoon by the scruff as it untangled instantly as he fell to the ground with his rump.
Null rubbed his butt as he stood up, he then saw a large stain of dark dried blood over his forearms and he then looked at the blanket and say a dark stain stretch across it.
"Best, you go finish your clean up from yesterday night, and wake gold dome up." Ron said as he ruffled Null's head, walking off to talk to the security, though he did mumbled before walking off, "Might have to shave him." Then he spoke with the ten guards at the gate as they all greeted him joyously.
Null stood there face slightly bewildered, "I don't think i ever told him that nickname i came up with it for the golden nugget...wait no way he came up with it by himself..."
"Do i think like that Gorilla...?" He kept quiet and he tried to process the very possiblity.
Then he came to an answer.
"Insanity, like that actually is possible"
Null entered the back of the car as he furiously wiped his forearms still stained with blood, one more than the other.
Then when his forearms were clean, he raised one forearm to his face, as everything stilled, and his reality seemed to be drained of colour as his forearm flickered from being restored, then being flayed and flowing with clotted dark blood.
His pupils immediately shrunk, as the entirety of his eye unraveled into string and tried and failed to form a iris as an unstable form spiraled inplace for his iris as he began to breathe in fast and shallow breaths.
His distorted string of a pupil trembled as his eyes seemed to emanate a blue as his eyes froze over, as his lungs froze, then his heart fro-!!!!
Null jumped as he heard shuffling, as he twirled his head frantically around the car till it landed on Midas.
Null just stared, as he exited the car and opened the passenger seat door and attempted to shake Midas's shoulder, then.
A tightness and pressure enveloped his wrist as he saw Midas stare into his eyes, with his glowing blue dots in his golden socket, and gripping his wrist.
"...You've become more frail." Midas spoke.
