Chapter 208 - Chapter 200 – The Birth of the Fifth Hokage

Wind Release: Pressure Damage.

A technique capable of sweeping across an entire battlefield—erasing obstacles, generating vacuum pressure, and violently launching enemies into the air. Its destructive force was not only wide-ranging but also unpredictable, making it one of the most versatile and terrifying Wind Release techniques ever conceived.

Few ninjutsu could match its sheer explosive power.

And now… Naruto had obtained it.

Yet there was a problem.

Although his body had mostly recovered from his previous injuries, he had not yet reached a condition where he could begin serious training. The technique itself required precise chakra control and immense stamina—something Naruto had yet to fully regain.

For now, it remained a power he possessed… but could not yet wield.

Jiraiya leaned casually against a wooden pillar, his expression thoughtful as he glanced toward Tsunade.

"Tsunade," he began hesitantly, "Naruto's injuries have mostly healed."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"So… what do you think? Is it time to return to the village with me?"

Tsunade did not answer immediately.

Instead, she lifted her sake cup and took a slow sip, her gaze drifting somewhere far beyond the present moment. There was hesitation in her eyes—conflict buried deep within her heart.

Naruto, however, had no patience for hesitation.

"Return to the village?" he repeated, frowning. "Isn't it simple? You just go back and become Hokage!"

He crossed his arms, clearly frustrated.

"Grandma Tsunade, everyone wants to become Hokage. Why are you still hesitating?"

"If it were me, I would've gone back a long time ago!"

Tsunade glanced at him, a faint smirk forming on her lips. She reached out and lightly tapped his head.

"You really don't understand anything, do you?" she said.

"Things aren't as simple as you think."

Her expression softened slightly as she continued.

"I told you before… when I look at you, I see two people."

Naruto blinked.

"Nawaki… and Dan, right?"

Tsunade nodded.

"Yes."

Her voice grew quieter.

"They both dreamed of becoming Hokage. They both believed in protecting the village… and they both died chasing that dream."

The atmosphere grew heavy.

Naruto fell silent.

For a moment, even he didn't know what to say.

But then…

"Doesn't that make it even more important?" Naruto suddenly said.

Tsunade looked at him, surprised.

Naruto clenched his fists, his voice firm.

"If they couldn't achieve their dream… then shouldn't you do it for them?"

"You're still alive. You still have the chance to become Hokage!"

His blue eyes burned with determination.

"If it were me, I'd definitely carry on their will and become the strongest, greatest Hokage ever!"

Tsunade stared at him, momentarily stunned.

"...Naruto."

Jiraiya, standing nearby, quietly sipped his sake, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

Bringing Naruto here was the right decision, he thought.

Tsunade lowered her gaze.

"Maybe you're right…" she admitted softly.

"I've been running away for too long."

She exhaled deeply before continuing.

"But even if I become Hokage… things won't be easy."

"Konoha is in chaos right now."

Naruto shrugged.

"Then just become Hokage first. We'll deal with everything else later!"

"If there's a problem, we fix it!"

Tsunade couldn't help but laugh softly.

"You make it sound so easy."

Naruto grinned.

"Maybe it is."

"You adults just overthink everything."

Shizune covered her mouth, chuckling.

"Naruto is surprisingly wise today…"

Even Tonton let out a cheerful "Oink!"

Tsunade stood up slowly, stretching her arms as if casting off years of hesitation.

A bright, confident smile spread across her face.

"…Alright."

She glanced at Jiraiya, then at Naruto.

"The Fifth Hokage of Konoha…"

"I'll take the position."

Naruto froze for a second—then his face lit up with excitement.

"Really?!"

Then suddenly, his expression shifted.

"…Wait."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow.

"What is it? You don't like the idea?"

Naruto scratched his head awkwardly.

"It's not that… it's just…"

"I thought I'd become Hokage after the Third!"

For a moment, there was silence.

Then—

Tsunade and Jiraiya burst into laughter.

"You?" Tsunade said, wiping a tear from her eye. "You're still far from ready."

Naruto clenched his fists.

"I won't give up!"

"Then I'll become the Sixth Hokage!"

Jiraiya grinned.

"That's the spirit."

Despite the difficulties and unexpected twists, the mission was ultimately a success.

Naruto and the others quickly made their way back to Konoha.

Jiraiya had already informed the ANBU in advance, so by the time they arrived, news had begun spreading throughout the village.

Tsunade—one of the Legendary Sannin—had returned.

The entire village was thrown into a state of excitement.

Although most people didn't yet know she would become Hokage, her mere presence was enough to inspire hope. Konoha, still scarred and partially destroyed, was in desperate need of strength—and Tsunade represented exactly that.

At the Gates of Konoha

A large crowd had gathered.

At the front stood the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.

When he saw Tsunade approaching, his eyes softened.

"Tsunade… it's been a long time."

Tsunade smiled warmly.

"Hiruzen-sensei… everyone…"

"I'm back."

Hiruzen let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"With you and Jiraiya here… I can finally rest easy."

Tsunade frowned slightly.

"This wasn't your fault," she said. "Why insist on stepping down?"

Hiruzen shook his head.

"As Hokage, every mistake becomes my responsibility."

He paused.

"Allowing Orochimaru to escape… led to the current disaster."

"That alone is enough reason."

Tsunade fell silent.

Hiruzen continued.

"Konoha needs change. It needs new strength."

Koharu Utatane stepped forward.

"Tsunade, we already know about your encounter with Orochimaru."

"He is still out there… waiting for an opportunity to strike again."

"And the Akatsuki organization has begun moving as well."

Her expression darkened.

"Uchiha Itachi and Kisame Hoshigaki—who infiltrated the village—are members of that group."

Homura Mitokado added:

"Konoha is under pressure both internally and externally."

"Your return… is exactly what we need."

Tsunade waved her hand dismissively.

"Alright, alright—I understand."

Then she pointed behind her.

"But if we're talking about new strength… it's him."

Everyone turned to look at Naruto.

Naruto stood proudly, hands behind his head, clearly expecting praise.

Hiruzen chuckled.

"Ah, Naruto."

"We've heard about what you did."

"You defeated Yakushi Kabuto and played a crucial role in the battle against Orochimaru."

His eyes gleamed with approval.

"This news will soon spread across the entire ninja world."

"From now on… Uzumaki Naruto is no longer just a mischievous child."

"He's a rising powerhouse."

Naruto blinked.

"A… powerhouse?"

Then his face lit up.

"That sounds so cool!"

He quickly looked around.

"Where's Kakashi-sensei?"

Hiruzen sighed.

"He hasn't fully recovered yet… and Sasuke…"

Naruto immediately turned to Tsunade.

"Now that Granny Tsunade is here, they'll be fine!"

Hiruzen nodded.

"Indeed."

Tsunade stepped forward without hesitation.

"Take me to them."

Konoha Hospital

Although it felt like much more time had passed, in reality, only ten days had gone by.

During that time, Kakashi and Sasuke had been severely affected by Itachi's Tsukuyomi.

Their injuries weren't physical—but mental.

And those were far harder to heal.

When they saw Naruto return with Tsunade, their expressions were complicated.

Nearby, Hinata—who had been quietly helping care for them—lit up with joy.

"Naruto-kun… you're back!"

Naruto grinned.

"Yeah! And I brought Tsunade with me!"

"Now Kakashi-sensei and Sasuke will recover in no time!"

Hinata smiled softly.

"That's… wonderful."

Without wasting time, Tsunade walked over and began examining them.

"Sasuke… you'll be fine," she said.

Then she turned to Kakashi, frowning.

"But you… how did you end up like this?"

Kakashi gave a weak smile.

"I was careless."

Tsunade narrowed her eyes.

"Was Itachi really that strong?"

Kakashi's gaze darkened.

"Yes."

"His Sharingan has evolved into the Mangekyō Sharingan."

"Its power is far beyond anything I imagined."

"I had no chance."

Sasuke's hands trembled slightly as he listened.

Tsunade sighed.

"Enough talking. Let me treat you both."

"We're in your care," Kakashi said quietly.

Naruto stepped forward, wanting to speak—but Hinata gently tugged his sleeve.

"Naruto-kun… let's go outside."

"We shouldn't disturb them."

Naruto nodded.

"Alright."

Outside the Hospital

The two walked side by side.

Naruto spoke enthusiastically, recounting everything that had happened during the journey.

As Hinata listened, her face gradually paled.

Her heart pounded with fear.

At the more dangerous moments, her eyes filled with tears.

"Naruto-kun…"

She looked down, her voice trembling.

"I should've been there…"

"Even if I couldn't do much… I wanted to help you."

Naruto stopped walking.

Then he smiled.

"It's okay."

"I'm still here, aren't I?"

His voice was light—but steady.

And for Hinata…

That was enough.
