Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Rebirth and Revenge A New Stage of War

📍 After Party — The Moment of Peace

"Now get your cute asses into a circle for the group photo!"

Rinne Amagi waved a bottle of glitter like it was a weapon of mass destruction. There was nowhere to run. Raito grabbed the back of Nagisa's shirt, eyes wide as saucers. Tsuki grabbed Ibara's coat, clinging to it like a lifeline.

And then—like a storm in high heels—

"MY SUNSHINE BABY!!"

Raito's mother burst through the crowd, camera flashing like lightning, phone recording in 4K quality.

"Say cheese! This is going on my idol mom blog! #PolarOppositesRealLifeCuteness #TsukiIsMySecondSonNow #RaitoYouBetterHugSomeoneOrElse!"

😰 Raito: "MOM, NO LIIIIVE—!!"

👁️👄👁️ Tsuki: "I'm disowning you from friendship."

Even Eden was crumbling. Jun Sazanami muttered under his breath, "She's scarier than our producer."

But Ibara Saegusa—ever the protector—sighed deeply and actually stepped forward, placing himself slightly in front of the two boys.

"...If you don't stop shining that light directly into their eyes... I will block it myself."

From the edge of the room, Seiya Hidaka watched, smiling softly into his microphone.

"...Perfect."

Because there they were. Not on a stage designed by technicians, but in the middle of chaos, glitter, and love. Tsuki still held Ibara's coat like a shield, but he didn't pull away when Raito grabbed his arm. And Raito? He finally laughed—loud, real, and unguarded—as Rinne dumped a handful of sparkles directly onto their heads.

📸✨💖

The flash went off.

One photo. One moment. One family of stars—at last—together.

📍 The Poison — Betrayal in the Glass

The party was loud, filled with the clinking of cups and the warmth of friendship. Mitsuru challenged Koga to arm wrestling. Natsume debated music theory. Kohaku had somehow convinced Adonis to try pudding.

But in the corner, Polar Opposites remained in full "rabbit mode," hiding behind their seniors, peeking out only to accept star-shaped cookies from Fuyume.

"This isn't spiked... is it?" Raito asked cautiously, taking the cup Ibara offered.

Ibara scoffed, looking offended. "If I am willing to stand here... I would hope you have more faith in me."

They drank.

It tasted fine. It felt fine.

Until—

Cough... Hack...!!

The sound tore through the room like a blade.

Ritsu stopped talking. Leo stopped eating. The entire hall went dead silent.

Raito doubled over, coughing violently. Tsuki dropped his cup, his face draining of color instantly.

"Raito...?!"

The guard forced the trembling butler to his knees. Head bowed, hands shaking, the truth spilled out like venom.

"I—I didn't mean for them to drink it! The poison... it was meant for Seiya Hidaka and his son Hokuto! Ibara—he passed them to the kids before I could stop it—!"

Gasps tore through the room.

"You targeted family?!" Keito Hasumi's voice was ice.

"Whoever did this won't breathe freely," Mika Kagehira growled, his usually gentle eyes burning with rage.

Raito collapsed to his knees, reaching out blindly.

"Tsuki...?"

Tsuki fell beside him, breathing shallow, pale as moonlight... but he turned instantly, grabbing Raito's hand with what little strength he had left.

"...Still... here..."

Ibara dropped to the floor, his composure shattered, voice raw with guilt. "This is on me."

"Medics! NOW!" Hajime Shino screamed into his phone.

Raito's fingers trembled as they intertwined with Tsuki's. Even as the world darkened, their grip remained iron-tight.

"...Don't go first... 'kay...?" Raito whispered.

Tsuki didn't answer with words. He just shifted closer, their foreheads almost touching, eyes closing together.

Sun and Moon.

Still holding on.

Still shining for each other. 🌙☀️💔

📍 The Vow — United in Fire

Ambulance lights painted the night sky red and blue. The wail of sirens echoed across Yumenosaki like a cry of anger.

But in the silence that followed, something else rose.

The doors burst open. Not with force, but with fire.

Idols stood in the doorway, breathing hard, eyes blazing.

"We're not letting this end like this!" Hajime Shino stepped forward, voice raw.

"They saved each other on stage... now it's our turn," Kanata Shinkai said, his voice sharp as steel.

"No more silence. No more waiting."

Unit by unit, they gathered. The rivalry was dead. Only family remained.

"They fought with music. We fight with truth," Rei Sakuma declared, his crimson eyes dark with promise.

"If someone thinks they can hurt family and walk away—I will break their legs," Mika vowed.

"I'm calling every contact I have," Natsume said, already dialing. "Someone knows something."

Seiya Hidaka stood tall, surrounded by the very stars he had helped create.

"Find them," he said simply.

"Make them pay."

📍 The Investigation — The Serpent Key

While the boys fought for their lives in the hospital, the war was fought in the offices.

In the dim light of the COSMIC PRODUCTION war room, Ibara Saegusa typed furiously. Security logs. Staff IDs. Delivery manifests.

"This wasn't just a butler acting alone," Ibara murmured, zooming in on a blurred security frame.

A shadowy figure handing a vial to the traitor.

And on their wrist—

A serpent coiled around a key.

"That symbol..." Ibara's eyes narrowed. "GFK Company."

Jun Sazanami's face hardened. "That agency was supposed to be dissolved years ago!"

"They thought they could poison light..." Ibara closed his laptop slowly, his voice like thunder wrapped in ice. "...But we are not done burning them out."

📍 The Hospital — Hands That Never Let Go

White walls. Beeping machines. The scent of antiseptic and fear.

Raito's mother sat between the two beds, one hand holding Raito, the other resting on Tsuki's arm. Her usual sparkle was gone, replaced by quiet, trembling strength.

"My sunshine... and his moon..." she whispered. "You held hands on stage... you held hands when you fell... and now? You still won't let go?"

She brushed hair from Tsuki's forehead.

"I know I joke... but I mean it. You've protected my boy since you were kids. Now let someone protect you."

Outside the door, the hallway was filled with idols waiting in silence.

- Rinne brought star-shaped flowers.

- Kohaku left plushies.

- Shu Itsuki placed a single black armband on the door handle—a sign of mourning and protection.

Seiya stood at the door, his voice breaking only once.

"I'm sorry."

And deep inside the fever dream...

Raito's fingers twitched into Tsuki's palm.

"...Tsuki... don't... be mad... if I cry..."

📍 The Awakening — The Light Returns

Two days passed.

Then—the door opened.

"...They woke up."

The world stopped.

"RAITO!"

His mother rushed in, collapsing onto the bed, hugging him tight, crying and laughing at the same time.

Raito blinked, pale and weak, but awake. He looked up at her with a sleepy, crooked smile.

"...Mom...? Did I miss my audition?"

"YOU IDIOT!" She sobbed, smacking his arm lightly. "You almost died and you're asking about auditions?!"

Beside them, Tsuki stirred. His eyelashes fluttered. He slowly opened his eyes, quiet as ever.

The first thing he did?

He turned his head to the right.

He looked at Raito.

And when he saw that stupid smile?

Tsuki let out a shaky breath and whispered:

"...Shut up. Sleep more."

Raito laughed weakly. "Only if you do too..."

Their fingers were still locked together.

Outside the room, the dam broke.

"THEY'RE BACK!!"

Tetora pumped his fist. Niki cried into Kohaku's shoulder. HiMERU adjusted his glasses, hiding his tears.

"The light has returned."

But Ibara stood at the window, watching them with dark eyes.

"GFK may be gone... but the one who gave the order... is still out there."

"This war... isn't over yet."

📍 The Roof — Promise Under the Stars

Days turned into weeks. Strength returned slowly.

One night, as June faded into the warm glow of summer, Raito and Tsuki sat on the roof of COSMIC PRODUCTION. The city lights sparkled below them.

"You're still gonna go on stage?" Tsuki asked softly.

Raito smirked, pointing at the brightest star in the sky.

"Of course. And I'm going to make it shine so bright... people will never forget."

Tsuki looked at him. Then, quietly, he reached over and took Raito's hand.

Just like in the hospital.

Just like always.

Creak.

The roof door opened.

Nagisa, Hiyori, Ibara, and Jun stepped out. Behind them, Rinne, HiMERU, Kohaku, and Niki.

"You're not skipping dinner," Jun said, holding up two bento boxes.

"Welcome back," Ibara said, his voice soft but firm. "You don't have to carry it alone anymore. We fight together now."

Raito looked at his family—his real family. He grinned, bright as ever, the shadow of the poison completely gone from his eyes.

"Then let's give them a comeback stage so loud... the whole world will know our names!"

Tsuki looked at him, then up at the stars.

A small, genuine smile touched his lips.

"...Yeah."
