Chapter 319: Forget the Three Thousand Flame Illusion, My Sunfire Is All I Need!

Refining and absorbing the Sunfire wasn't quite as smooth as Xiao Yuan had imagined... Well, actually, it was pretty smooth. Aside from the unbearable burning pain of being immersed in a sea of flames, there wasn't much to complain about.

At least for now.

The once-vast white sea of flames had shrunk to a shallow pool after two and a half days of cultivation. Under the dimming sky, the Sunfire had clearly calmed, becoming as obedient as a shy little lover allowing Xiao Yuan to absorb and refine it at will.

As the final wisp of flame entered Xiao Yuan's body and was refined into a part of the Yang Flame of his Yin-Yang dual fire, he finally opened his eyes slowly.

In the distance, Xiao Yi Xian's condition looked very good. Her increasingly rosy complexion made it clear that the Poison Pill refinement was progressing well. As long as she continued guiding its condensation step by step, success was within reach.

In theory, nothing unexpected should happen.

However...

In the next moment, Xiao Yuan's face changed. He quickly stabilized his focus and looked inward.

He saw the Yin-Yang dual flame churning restlessly in his body. A sense of instability, stronger than anything he had ever felt before, struck him hard.

The white Yang Flame roared wildly, while the black Yin Flame had been compressed to half its original size. The once-balanced interweaving of Yin and Yang was now tilted, Yang overpowering Yin.

He instantly realized the problem.

Though the Sunfire's flame intensity was not enough to affect the Heavenly Flame directly, its pure Yang energy was sufficient to disrupt the delicate balance within the Yin-Yang dual flame, causing it to go berserk!

And if a Heavenly Flame exploded inside his body...

Xiao Yuan trembled all over. The thought alone was chilling. Even with his formidable physique, he couldn't survive a Heavenly Flame detonating internally!

Now, with the Sunfire absorbed and the dual flame destabilized, if it fully exploded, the resulting blast could turn a peak Dou Zong into ash—and even an average Dou Zun could be seriously wounded.

Naturally, Xiao Yuan wasn't going to play with fire inside his own body. He immediately formed seals with both hands, unleashing his soul power to begin separating the excessive pure Yang energy.

Separating Yang Qi wasn't overly difficult given his soul strength—nearing eighth-tier alchemist level.

Besides, he didn't need to remove it all. As long as he extracted the excess, the dual flame could gradually digest the rest.

Simply put, he was taking out what would've made the flame overeat.

As he worked, night deepened.

At some point, without Xiao Yuan noticing, Xiao Yi Xian's aura deepened. Her elegant lavender eyes slowly opened.

Feeling the vast power within, she clenched her delicate hand. The air twisted in her palm, and with a wave, she effortlessly dispelled the spatial cage Xiao Yuan had placed around her.

She clearly sensed that the once-threatening Calamity Poison Body was now no longer dangerous. From now on, it would serve as her ally in both cultivation and combat.

More importantly...

She stepped forward. With a flicker in the air, she appeared beside Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan had already sensed her breakthrough from the cage's rupture. Now, as her familiar fragrance reached him—lacking the usual toxic undertone—he felt a great weight lifted from his heart.

Unfortunately, he had a problem of his own.

The separated Yang Qi had begun merging into his organs, bringing a warm, soothing sensation.

But as the saying goes: extreme Yin cannot generate, and lone Yang cannot thrive.

If he had been Yang-deficient, absorbing this would've been fine.

But he was already full of Yang: with Heavenly Flame, a strong young man's body, and vital organs honed by intense cultivation.

Not to mention, despite having enjoyed the company of four beautiful women recently, nothing "practical" had happened—so a lot of fire was still pent up.

Now, with pure Yang Qi stimulating his body—it was like dry wood meeting open flame.

So when Xiao Yi Xiang approached, he dared not move a muscle.

Yet, she bent down, as if to confirm her Poison Pill wouldn't harm others. Her jade finger tapped Xiao Yuan's forehead.

The cool touch didn't calm him. It made things worse—his inner fire surged violently.

In the next instant, Xiao Yi Xiang saw Xiao Yuan's eyes snap open, bloodshot.

"Xiao Yuan? What's wrong?"

Worried, she reached out with both soft hands, cupping his cheeks. The sweet fragrance on her breath further ignited the blaze inside him.

"I'm burning up inside!" Xiao Yuan growled like a dragon spitting fire. His breath was scorching, and flames danced in his black pupils as he stared greedily at her body.

"Y-You—"

She was startled. It was the first time she'd seen him so unrestrained, staring at her like a beast about to devour its prey.

Sure enough, the next second, he pulled her forcefully into his embrace and buried his burning lips in the crook of her snowy neck.

The intense heat made her legs go weak.

But when she realized her Calamity Poison had no effect on him, her eyes softened. "If this can help you... then I'm yours."

She understood. Xiao Yuan wouldn't lose control unless something serious was wrong. And now, the once-dreaded Poison Fairy had become his antidote.

As she spoke, she lifted herself from his arms, eyes half-closed, lips parted, gently kissing him back—awkwardly, yet with focused affection.

The contact seemed to awaken some clarity in him. He lightly slapped her firm, delicate rear.

Her face turned crimson, and she began to undo her robe. With a rustle, her white dress slipped off her shoulders, revealing her graceful figure, glowing warmly even in the firelit altar.

Faced with such beauty, resisting would be inhuman.

So he didn't.

With a pulse of Dou Qi, his clothes exploded into ash. In a flurry of sparks, their bodies entwined.

Yin met Yang.

At dawn, the first rays of sunlight streamed into the altar. Xiao Yuan opened his eyes and felt something large and soft in his hand. His pupils shrank—then he squeezed slightly.

"Huh?"

Realizing what he was holding, his mind cleared instantly. He looked at the lovely woman in his arms, frowning in her sleep. Everything from last night came flooding back.

Ah, the harmony of Yin and Yang was indeed marvelous.

He grew excited just remembering it.

He had to admit: Xiao Yi Xian, as a Dou Zun, had an incredible physique.

Every position he could imagine—done. He didn't even remember when they fell asleep.

But as he stirred, she, ever sensitive, suddenly woke. Scrambling out of bed, she looked at him in a panic.

"D-Don't come any closer!"

She blurted out in a hoarse voice, blushing fiercely and covering her face.

"Ahem... I lost control last night. Sorry."

Xiao Yuan scratched his head, embarrassed. Who would've thought his elite flame control would fail him because of Sunfire?

"N-No, I'm not blaming you. It's just... aah, stop staring!"

She lowered her hands to speak but realized she was still fully exposed. Her face burned as she covered it again.

"Covering your face but not your body?" Xiao Yuan smiled wryly. His desire faded a bit. With a flick of his ring, he dressed himself, then fetched a white robe for her.

"D-Don't come closer!"

She couldn't see him but heard him approaching.

He ignored her and swept her into his arms.

"You realize I've seen everything now, right? Covering your face only makes it look like you're being coy."

He whispered in her ear, his breath hot.

Her cheeks burned hotter. She hesitated, then hooked her arms around his neck. The gesture reminded her of last night, and she buried her face in his chest. "You've already seen it all... so why bother covering anything else?"

That... actually made sense?

Momentarily stunned, Xiao Yuan chuckled and patted her rear again.

"Alright, let's get dressed. This is still the Ye Clan's altar. Last night was one thing—can't have another wild round here. I'll come to your room tonight."

He grinned.

"No way! After what you did, how am I supposed to walk during the day?"

She pouted, lightly thumping his chest.

"Hehe, I'm an alchemist."

He smiled and fed her a pill.

It worked instantly. Her fatigue vanished, and her mind cleared.

"What kind of pill is that?"

"Just a fifth-tier healing pill. Nothing special."

He waved it off, then began removing the formations and soul barriers around them.

She quickly adjusted her robes and cleaned up the messy altar with spatial energy. Once everything looked normal, she followed him outside.

"You're pretty thorough," Xiao Yuan remarked, tossing a flame to cleanse the altar once more.

"With you, it's always necessary…"

She began to retort, then realized she'd just used spatial power to erase evidence—hardly noble behavior for a Dou Zun.

"Haha, you know, the Ye Clan should thank me."

"They should thank your big dumb head! You tricked me and tormented me all night!"

She glared at him.

"Hehe."

Xiao Yuan didn't deny it. He had indeed been rather "bad" last night.

Later, in the Ye Clan's main hall, Ye Zhong beamed gratefully.

"The Sunfire Altar is working again! Xiao Yuan, we can't thank you enough!"

Xiao Yuan smiled and nodded, then glanced at Xiao Yi Xiang with a sly wink.

"..."

She was speechless. On the way back, he'd explained how the Sunfire was the culprit that pushed his Yang Flame out of control. So... it was Sunfire that caused her suffering?

And yet, he got all the credit.

Why?

"Haha, we should also thank Xiao Yi Xian. If she hadn't broken through to Dou Zun and lent a hand, resolving the Sunfire issue wouldn't have been so easy."

Xiao Yuan added with a smile.

"What? Dou Zun?!"

Ye Zhong's smile froze. The young woman before him looked no older than his granddaughter—and she had jumped from Dou Zong to Dou Zun?

Was cultivation really that easy these days?

"Ah, thank you, Miss Little Doctor."

He quickly recovered and gave her a respectful bow.

Xiao Yi Xiang knew exactly what Xiao Yuan meant by "lent a hand." She shot him a glare, then shook her head.

"No need to thank me, Elder Ye. Xiao Yuan did most of the work. I still need to stabilize my power after breaking through, so I'll take my leave."

With that, she vanished.

Leaving Xiao Yuan and Ye Zhong staring at each other in the hall.
