Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Copycat

Rafa's POV:

The next day i arrived at school.

The hallway felt heavier than usual, like the silence was too loud.

Suddenly as i was putting away my bag in my locker Livia walked up to me. Her expression was serious, almost like anger.

"We need to talk." She said bluntly looking at me with her arms crossed

"Yeah, just wait i need to do somethi-" Before i finished my sentence i looked at her outfit, it looked like the one i had on yesterday. Same outfit, same hair, same makeup style but something was still off.

"You...copied me"  I said kind of shocked.

"No i didn't, i got inspiration" She said calmy

"Uhm, ok" I said as CJ ran up to me giving me a jumpscare.

His eyes widened, he looked at my outfit and Livia's outfit.

"Talk about copycat..." He said as Livia gave him a glare.

Then the rest of my friends came Sam, Keagan, Angela and...Felix.

"Not him AGAIN!!!" I thought to myself.

I soon got a lot of notifications on my phone on my latest video AND some people posted on Livia copying my outfit.

"She's such a try hard wtf"

"She should lwk giveup on copying Rafa"

"They should kick her out of the friend group ngl"

As i read those comments suddenly CJ pretended to clear his throat.

"I vote to kick out Livia from the friend group. Sam, Keagan and Felix agree with me so she's kicked out now guys!!" He said happily.

"WHAT! YOU CAN'T KICK ME OUT!" Said Livia angrily

"Sorry not sorry" Said Felix as we all went away from her but no one actually felt bad for her.

For a second…

It was quiet.

Too quiet.

Then—

"Wow."

We all turned.

Livia was still standing there.

But this time?

She wasn't trying to hide it.

Her expression had completely changed.

No fake calm.

No pretending.

Just—

Pure anger.

"You guys are actually unbelievable," she said, laughing—but it wasn't funny. "Kicking me out over clothes?"

"It's not just clothes," Angela said, crossing her arms.

"It's everything," Sam added.

Livia scoffed. "Oh please. You're all just obsessed with her."

Her eyes landed on me.

Sharp.

"Everything's about Rafa, right?" she continued. "What she wears, what she posts, what she does—"

"That's not—" I started.

"Yes, it is," she cut me off. "You think you're better than everyone just because people online like you?"

My chest tightened.

"I never said that."

"You don't have to," she snapped. "It's obvious."

"Okay, that's enough," Felix said, his voice calm—but colder than I'd ever heard it.

Livia turned to him.

"Oh, of course," she said. "You're defending her. Again."

"I'm not defending her," he replied. "I'm telling you to stop."

Silence.

"You really chose her over everything," Livia said quietly.

Felix didn't even hesitate.

"Yeah."

That one word?

Heavy.

It hit harder than before.

Livia blinked.

Like she expected something different.

Like she hoped.

"…right," she said softly.

For a second—

She looked almost… hurt.

But then it disappeared.

Just like that.

"Whatever," she said, rolling her eyes. "You'll get bored eventually."

Felix didn't react.

Didn't even look affected.

"I won't," he said simply.

My heart—

Yeah.

Not okay.

Livia laughed again, shaking her head.

"This isn't over," she said, her voice dropping slightly.

There it was.

That same tone from before.

The kind that meant trouble.

Then she turned—

And walked away.

This time, no one said anything.

No jokes.

Just silence.

"…she's definitely planning something," CJ said finally.

"Yeah," Keagan added quietly.

I looked down at my phone again.

More notifications.

More comments.

More posts.

People were dragging her.

I frowned slightly.

"…this is getting out of hand."

"She started it," Sam said.

"I know, but still…"

Something about it didn't feel right.

"Hey."

I looked up.

Felix.

He was already looking at me.

"Don't think about it too much," he said.

"…I'm not," I replied.

He raised an eyebrow.

"You are."

I sighed. "Okay, maybe a little."

He stepped a bit closer.

Not enough to make a scene.

Just enough that I noticed.

"She'll be fine," he said. "Just stay out of it."

I hesitated.

"…what if she doesn't?"

He didn't answer right away.

And for some reason—

That made me more nervous.

Before I could say anything else—

"RAFA."

I turned.

A group of girls were walking toward me.

Smiling.

Phones already out.

"Can we take a picture with you??"

"I love your videos!"

"You're literally my favorite—"

I blinked.

"Uh—yeah, sure," I said.

Angela grinned. "Told you."

CJ leaned in. "Celebrity behavior."

"Shut up," I muttered.

We took pictures.

Talked for a bit.

More compliments.

More attention.

But this time—

It felt different.

Because even while smiling—

Even while laughing—

I could feel it.

That tension.

That feeling that something wasn't over.

That Livia wasn't done.

Not even close.

And somehow—

I had a feeling…

The next move?

Was going to be worse.

The rest of the morning felt… weirdly normal.

Too normal.

No Livia.

No comments from her.

No stares.

No tension in the hallway.

"Okay, this is suspicious," CJ said, looking around. "Where is she?"

"Hopefully gone," Sam replied.

Angela nudged me. "You okay?"

"Yeah," I said. "…just feels quiet."

"Peaceful," Keagan corrected.

I let out a small laugh.

"…yeah. That too."

But something about it still felt off.

Like the calm before something.

"Rafa."

I looked up.

Felix.

Of course.

"You're thinking again," he said.

"I'm not."

"You are."

I rolled my eyes. "Can you not read me like that?"

"No."

"…annoying."

"Still here though."

I ignored him.

(…barely.)

"Wait," Angela suddenly said, grabbing my arm. "We should film."

I blinked. "Now?"

"Yes. Right now. The lighting is good and everyone's here."

CJ immediately nodded. "Manager approved."

"Since when are you my manager?" I asked.

"Since 5 million," he said.

"It's 10 now."

"Even better."

I laughed, pulling out my phone.

"Okay, fine."

We moved slightly to the side of the hallway.

Not too crowded.

But still visible.

I hit record.

"Okayyy," I said, smiling at the camera, "fit check with the group because people keep asking—"

Angela jumped in instantly. "AS THEY SHOULD."

CJ stepped into frame. "We have standards."

"You do not," I said.

Sam leaned in next. "Speak for yourself."

Keagan gave a small nod. "I'm just here."

I laughed.

Then—

Felix stepped into frame last.

Of course.

Not saying anything.

Just standing there.

Looking at the camera—

Then at me.

My heart did that thing again.

"Anyway," I continued, trying to stay normal, "rate the fits—don't lie."

"Lie," CJ said. "Be nice."

I ended the video quickly.

Post.

We didn't even have to wait.

Notifications instantly blew up.

"That was fast," Angela said, looking at my screen.

I refreshed.

"THEY'RE ALL SO FINE???"

"This friend group is actually unfair"

"RAFA NEVER MISSES"

"Felix just standing there like that???"

"I want their life 😭"

I smiled slightly.

More comments.

More likes.

More shares.

"Best group on this app idc"

"They look so happy without that other girl 👀"

"The vibe is DIFFERENT now"

I paused.

Reading that one again.

The vibe is different.

"…they're not wrong," I said quietly.

Angela glanced at my phone. "Wait—that's so true."

"It's calmer," Sam added.

"No random tension," CJ said.

"No copycats," Angela added.

I huffed a small laugh.

"Yeah," I said. "…it feels better."

And it did.

For the first time in a while—

Everything felt… easy.

No pressure.

No weird energy.

No someone trying to force their way into something that wasn't theirs.

Just us.

"Hey."

I turned.

Felix.

Closer than before.

"Your video's blowing up again," he said.

"Shocking," I replied.

He smirked.

"I meant it," he added.

"…what?"

"About earlier."

My heart skipped.

I looked at him.

"…which part?"

"That it's you."

Oh.

I forgot how to breathe for a second.

"…you say things like that too casually," I muttered.

"I'm not joking."

"I know."

Silence.

Not awkward.

Just—

Full.

"…you're still annoying," I said.

"Yeah."

"And you smirk too much."

"Also true."

I shook my head, trying not to smile.

And somehow—

Even with everything that happened—

It felt…

Right.

Across the hallway—

People were still watching.

Still talking.

Still posting.

But this time?

I didn't feel overwhelmed.

I felt—

In control.

And Livia?

She was gone.

No drama.

No revenge.

No scene.

Just—

Gone.

And somehow…

That felt like the beginning of something new.

Not the end.
