Chapter 207 - [DEM] 207: Black Bullet

Now, the people of the King of Monsters world had shifted their allegiance to a new figure.

Not Morpheus, of course. When he consumed their world, he hadn't had time to deal with King Ghidorah.

The issue was that Ghidorah had provoked someone it shouldn't have.

Orphis, the Infinite Dragon God.

Morpheus had previously placed Orphis in his Light Dimension.

When the King of Monsters world was absorbed, Ghidorah sensed Orphis's presence.

To be precise, as Orphis flew overhead, Ghidorah spotted her.

And then, Ghidorah made a grave mistake, attempting to devour Orphis.

Morpheus could only sigh. What audacity! Who gave it the courage to challenge the Infinite Dragon God?

It was no different from seeking death.

And so it was.

Ghidorah was obliterated, effortlessly crushed by Orphis in front of countless witnesses.

From then on, the people of the King of Monsters world redirected their worship and flattery to Orphis.

Morpheus found this very human—adaptable, to say the least.

When Ghidorah was dominant, they groveled before it. Now that Ghidorah was destroyed, they fervently worshipped Orphis, who had defeated it.

Unfortunately for them, Orphis had little interest in these humans.

She preferred soaring through the skies in peace.

With Morpheus's Light Dimension expanding after absorbing three Lostbelts, Orphis was thrilled.

The dimension was now vaster than the dimensional gap.

It was more than sufficient for her.

Ghidorah was merely a fleeting distraction in her monotonous flights. Morpheus doubted she'd even remember the insignificant creature that dared challenge her.

Probably not.

Lastly, the apocalyptic world.

This was the Black Bullet world.

In the main world, the Umbrella Corporation had once developed the Gastrea virus, but Morpheus destroyed it before it could spread.

In this apocalyptic world, however, the virus had fully erupted, devastating most of Earth's habitable environment, forcing humans to huddle in fortified cities, barely surviving.

It was strikingly similar to the Black Bullet world.

Of all the Lostbelt worlds, Morpheus despised this one the most.

The humans here were utterly deplorable.

Their blatant malice toward the Cursed Children was unmasked, and Morpheus couldn't stand it.

He'd consumed their world, and they still dared to act so unjustly?

Morpheus immediately performed a miracle, enveloping the Black Bullet world in a massive barrier.

He then relocated all the Cursed Children to another place.

Naturally, this included humans who treated the Cursed Children kindly.

With his vast domain, taking in the Cursed Children was a trivial task for Morpheus.

As for those who despised them, Morpheus left them trapped within the barrier forever.

He left a message, echoing in everyone's ears:

"As you wished, I've taken all the Cursed Children. Now, let's see how you fare against those monsters on your own."

Without the Cursed Children, Morpheus was curious to see how they'd handle the ferocious Gastrea.

To ensure this, he tweaked the barrier's time flow.

One hour outside equaled one year inside.

Morpheus patiently observed the events within.

Initially, the humans rejoiced at the Cursed Children's disappearance, especially when those sympathetic to them vanished too.

Take Kikunojyo Tendo, for instance. With the Holy Emperor gone alongside the Cursed Children, he dropped all pretense and seized control of the Tokyo Area, ruling with an iron fist.

As he rose, the Tendo family expanded, and the parasites within it emerged, greedily exploiting everything they could.

They plundered whatever was valuable—and even what wasn't.

The result? The monoliths protecting the Tokyo Area collapsed, and countless Gastrea swarmed in, slaughtering indiscriminately.

Kikunojyo Tendo rallied the military, but their resistance was feeble.

The monsters were too numerous, and the army was quickly decimated.

Desperate, Kikunojyo mobilized civilians for a last stand against the Gastrea.

But these ordinary people were no match, routed in a single clash.

Only then did some recall the value of the Cursed Children, frantically begging Morpheus to return them.

Morpheus remained unmoved.

In the end, the Tokyo Area was annihilated by the Gastrea.

Yet Kikunojyo Tendo and his family escaped on a plane, taking vast wealth to live lavishly elsewhere.

They left the fools behind to perish with the Tokyo Area.

Meanwhile, the disappearance of the Cursed Children caused issues in other regions.

Over the next few years, several areas fell.

People began to realize the Cursed Children's importance.

Some regions even tried creating new Cursed Children to fight the Gastrea.

But did Morpheus give them that chance?

Of course not.

The moment a Cursed Child was born, they were whisked out of the barrier, raised by other Cursed Children.

None were left to suffer in that world.

Gradually, those within the barrier realized they'd been abandoned by divinity.

Many gave up, living aimlessly or embracing antisocial tendencies.

Yet some, in their desperation, shone with humanity's light, tirelessly researching a new path to salvation.

Morpheus didn't disdain these people and offered them slight aid.

In the twelfth year of the Cursed Children's absence, someone developed an antidote that could kill the Gastrea virus.

Injected into a Gastrea, it would dissolve into blood in moments.

Thus, the humans in the barrier launched a final battle, spreading the antidote everywhere, eradicating all Gastrea.

Humanity emerged victorious.

Morpheus then lifted the barrier, allowing the world to fully merge into his Light Dimension.
