She quietly pulled the blanket a little higher.
For some reason, she didn't move away.
She didn't even want to.
"Good night," she said slowly, almost as if she wasn't sure she should say it again.
This time there was no reply.
The room fell quiet again.
When Olaedo woke the next morning, she expected to find the other side of the bed empty.
Surprisingly, Chibuzor was still asleep.
She blinked at him.
He's still sleeping?
She herself had woken up later than usual, so perhaps he had decided to sleep in as well.
Not wanting to disturb him, she quietly got out of bed and went to prepare for the day.
Not long after she left, Chibuzor stirred.
His hand instinctively reached across the bed, as though he wanted to confirm that she was still there.
But his fingers touched nothing.
He slowly opened his eyes.
The other side of the bed was empty.
He glanced at the clock.
7:00 a.m.
His eyes widened.
Seven?
He couldn't remember the last time he had slept this late.
