Chapter 264 - Chapter 264: Thanks to Our Coordinator Bro Genesis Light for the GINN Delivery

Damn Library Organization!

Patrick was never someone with particularly deep scheming abilities.

First, he discovered that this Chief Librarian's organization actually possessed a battleship equipped with Mirage Technology.

It had quietly docked right beside Genesis, their current greatest strategic asset, without anyone noticing.

To Patrick, this felt like a sharp blade pressed against his weakest spot. While it didn't exactly keep him up at night, it certainly felt like a fishbone stuck in his throat.

Then he heard them claim to possess power capable of countering that Wang Hu.

How could Patrick possibly remain calm under these circumstances?

Considering the technological capabilities the Library had already demonstrated - whether it was the Imitators or the rapid repair of Genesis - from the highest-level decisive weapons down to elite ace pilots on the battlefield, and even the common soldiers...

If they wanted to, they could undoubtedly deal with them all effortlessly!

"Hahaha, then we'll leave everything to the Chief Librarian and the Library Organization."

His expression changed several times within seconds, right under the watchful eyes of the Chief Librarian present.

Patrick didn't need anyone to tell him - he could feel how terrible his expression must look.

His dry voice sounded as sharp as fingernails scraping across a glass blackboard.

At this moment, Patrick's wariness toward the Library even temporarily surpassed his concern about their current enemy, the East Asian Federation.

"Of course, our Library does possess some modest capabilities."

Observing Patrick's unusually grim expression, the Chief Librarian maintained his characteristically reserved demeanor.

"Where is the East Asian Federation's main fleet now?"

Staring deeply at the other man, Patrick abruptly changed the subject.

He was afraid - afraid that he might lose control and order the immediate elimination of the Chief Librarian before dealing with the East Asian Federation, along with that battleship representing the Library's military power currently within their own ranks!

"According to our detection, the main East Asia Fleet is positioned behind Boaz Fortress."

Affected by the tense atmosphere swirling through the central control room, the responding ZAFT officer unconsciously lowered his voice.

"Behind Boaz Fortress? The side facing Earth?"

Forcing himself to stop thinking about the Library, Patrick tried to focus his attention on the current battle situation.

"Yes."

Seeing that his superior's expression seemed to have relaxed slightly, the ZAFT officer dared to speak a bit louder.

As he spoke, he adjusted the video feed, displaying information transmitted by frontline scouts.

"Before the decisive battle began, the East Asian Army deployed battlefield information blockade, so our scouts never found an opportunity to approach and gather intelligence on the enemy."

"However, it's probably because we used Genesis to completely annihilate the Atlantic Federation Army."

"So all the scout units previously deployed by the East Asian Army suddenly retreated back into hiding, which finally gave our scouts a chance to observe enemy movements."

"The East Asian Army now seems to be using Boaz Fortress as a shield, with all their forces hiding behind that fortress."

"Heh heh heh."

Hearing this, Patrick's mood finally improved a bit. He glanced at the Chief Librarian beside him and spoke with a double meaning in his tone.

"Even the East Asian Army has to shy away from the brilliance of our Coordinators' Genesis Light.""

"I don't think there's any other organization in this world that can stand against our ZAFT anymore."

To this, the Chief Librarian seemed not to hear and offered no response at all.

Seeing that the Chief Librarian's spirit seemed to be invisibly suppressed by him, Patrick felt greatly pleased. He turned his head to stare at the Dendrobium, which was still breaking through their defense line and performing as if no one could stop it, but he didn't really care anymore.

Because the East Asian Army actually pinned their hopes on a single custom machine, thinking that one trump card could reverse the tide of battle—such a wild dream was destined to be unachievable!

"How utterly foolish."

Shaking his head, Patrick chuckled dismissively.

"To rely on that Wang Hu to destroy Genesis—I wonder what the East Asian Army was thinking."

"Do they not realize that by the time Wang Hu charges all the way to Genesis, we would have had enough time to attack and annihilate their entire fleet of warships,

or even strike the Moon and Earth? At this point, Patrick fixed his gaze on the newly replaced launch platform of Genesis.

Striking a majestic posture, he issued a command to the operators:

"Aim at the enemy East Asia Fleet." Let them also experience the Genesis Light of us Coordinators. In Patrick's fantasy, he saw his Genesis Light sweeping away the East Asian Army's fleet, then engulfing all his opponents within the Earth Sphere.

Ultimately, he led the Coordinators to achieve the great feat of unifying the world, becoming the starting point that initiated the great history of the Coordinators.

But while his thoughts were grand and theoretically achievable,

would the East Asian Army, having anticipated this, really allow themselves to be so easily swept away by Genesis's light as he wished?

In reality, Genesis's attack might seem unstoppable, but its principle is simply a Gamma-Ray Laser Cannon that collects and focuses gamma rays produced by nuclear fission before launching.

It appears highly advanced, but it is by no means a patent first developed by the Coordinators.

In fact, gamma rays had been discovered by humanity long ago and widely applied in daily life.

For example, the Gamma Knife used in medical tumor surgery, cardiovascular diagnosis, neuroscientific research, and so on.

In geology, they are also used for mineral exploration. Oh, and there's one application most beloved by the general public:

Since gamma rays are inherently high-energy, back in the old year 97, scientists irradiated mercury with high-level gamma rays,

causing it to lose a proton and transform into a new atom. In the experiment, they successfully turned 1.34 tons of mercury into 744 grams of gold.

Thus, aside from the shock that the Gamma-Ray Laser Cannon brought by destroying the Atlantic Federation Army's fleet in one strike, this thing isn't actually that terrifying—not to the point of being perceived as an unstoppable natural disaster.

Because in the real world, any material can block gamma rays, though their blocking capabilities vary.

And the predecessors of history had already pointed the way for the East Asian Army.

To block Genesis, one only needs to follow these points.

Generally speaking, the higher the atomic number and density of a substance, the stronger its blocking capability.

The concept of density is relatively straightforward, and I believe most people can understand it.

As for atomic number, it refers to the serial number in the periodic table of elements. Elements with higher atomic numbers tend to block gamma rays more effectively.

In other words, if you want something both cheap and effective, you only need to prepare a sufficiently thick layer of lead to block the Coordinators' Genesis Light.

Doesn't it feel like something instantly sophisticated has been dragged down to a street market stall?

Something that appeared so overwhelmingly powerful, how did the masters of the East Asian Federation's Academy of Sciences manage to reduce it to something as outdated as a plucked phoenix that's worse than a chicken?

Yet in reality, the Coordinators' technology is essentially this easy to counter.

There's no need to exhaust mental and physical resources to develop countless black-tech solutions.

So after the East Asian Army took control of Boaz Fortress, they only did three things.

First, they filled the rock walls behind Boaz Fortress with a considerable amount of mercury, aiming to utilize the principle of energy conservation.

It's known that 1.24 tons of mercury need to be irradiated to transform into 744 grams of gold, though this also depends on the intensity differences between various gamma rays.

However, the basic principle remains the same. The masters of the East Asian Academy of Sciences wanted to see how much artificial gold this strike from the Coordinators could generate for them.

And under energy conservation, how much destructive power would remain in the residual gamma-ray burst.

Second, the rear of Boaz Fortress was entirely transformed by the East Asian Army into a solid lead sphere, based on calculations by the masters of the East Asian Academy of Sciences.

Theoretically, a lead sphere of this thickness could withstand the gamma-ray burst that caused the Ordovician-Silurian extinction event.

Which originated approximately 6,000 light-years from Earth and lasted about 10 seconds.

And the Genesis created by the Coordinators couldn't possibly exceed that in power, right?

Third, the Prototype Small Planetary Engine transported from the Breaking Ball World was also installed by the East Asian military on the original Boaz Fortress.

The thrust of ten thousand units was enough to propel Earth's Planetary Engine, so using a single unit to push a lead sphere was truly overkill.

After the experiments by the masters of the East Asian Academy of Sciences were completed, Boaz Fortress would transform into a projectile.

Once the trajectory was calculated.

Whoosh—this lead sphere would, in an extremely short time, directly smash the physical manifestation of the Coordinators' ambition, Genesis.

Of course, that would only happen after the East Asian Army recovered the possible gold.

After all, the East Asian Army wouldn't engage in money-losing ventures.

Didn't modifying Boaz Fortress cost money?

So soon enough, the Coordinators witnessed something that left them utterly astonished.

At Patrick's command, Genesis fired a second time, shooting a massive amount of gamma rays toward the East Asian Army hiding behind Boaz Fortress.

Every Coordinator who saw the beam torrent streaking across the cosmos, igniting a brilliant trail of light.

Not a single one doubted that this strike could usher in a new epoch for them.

At the same time, to showcase the majesty of his Genesis, Patrick pulled off a particularly flashy move.

He had his scouts stationed around Boaz Fortress broadcast the event live, just so everyone could witness the annihilation of the East Asian Army.

Thus when all those watching witnessed the Genesis torrent crashing directly against the Boaz Fortress.

"It's been blocked!"

An overwhelming roar of disbelief nearly tore the sky apart.

Whether it was people within the Earth Sphere, residents of the PLANT satellite cluster, or ZAFT Forces soldiers at Jachin Due.

They all stared at the glittering expanse of gold that suddenly appeared before their eyes after the Genesis torrent's direct impact.

Chaotic thoughts surged in every person's heart.

"Better than expected."

Within the East Asia Fleet positioned behind Boaz Fortress, General Zheng's eyes reflected the golden light.

"The enemy's attack reached the final lead barrier, but its power was significantly weakened by the mercury layer and after conversion to gold."

"The remaining force is within acceptable parameters. According to the Science Academy's projections, we can withstand two more hits."

"If we can promptly repair the front mercury layer, our gold reserves might just..."

Taking the data report from the technical officer, Chief of Staff Jiang couldn't maintain his composure in the face of such dazzling gold.

Facing his old partner's suggestion, General Zheng showed rare hesitation.
