Chapter 474 - Chapter 474: Something came up at home—I’ll head out first

"Kyurem, can you handle Groudon on your side? Do you need me to send some reinforcements?"

Grey still felt a little uncertain.

Although White Kyurem had a slight advantage in terms of typing, Groudon was so thick-skinned and tough that Grey felt White Kyurem's moves landing on Groudon would be no different from ordinary chip damage.

"It's fine. I can deal with this guy myself. It can't fly, and I can. That is the difference between us."

White Kyurem's wings vibrated violently, and its freezing breath poured out like a collapsing glacier.

The air condensed into fine ice crystals, making Groudon uncomfortable all over.

"Damn outsider! You deserve to die!"

Groudon roared once more and spat out flames that seemed capable of burning the sky.

A golden-red pillar of fire and a pure-white current of cold crashed together in midair, and the energy turbulence that exploded outward filled the battlefield with white mist.

Then Reshiram took advantage of the harsh sunlight and fired several more Blue Flares, accurately landing them on Groudon.

White Kyurem relied on its mobility advantage, appearing and disappearing within the fog. Every flap of its wings stirred up a new Blizzard, leaving Groudon, who was used to fighting on land, completely helpless.

"Damn it!"

Groudon's furious shout came from within the thick mist.

It kept stomping its claws down, but it could never break through the blockade of cold air.

Groudon was wondering where the other two humans had gone and why they had not come to help it yet, only to be struck by several more attacks that interrupted its thoughts.

At this moment, Zinnia and Giovanni had also fallen into a difficult battle.

They had originally thought that a three-sided pincer attack would be enough to suppress Grey, but they had not expected Mew to keep appearing and disappearing at the edge of the battlefield like a ghost.

Every time Salamence tried to dive down, or Beedrill prepared to launch a surprise attack, that pink figure would suddenly flash into view, interrupting their offense with Psychic and disrupting their vision with Dazzling Gleam, completely dismantling their carefully planned coordination.

"If this keeps dragging on, Groudon probably won't be able to hold out!" Zinnia circled at low altitude on Salamence, anxiously shouting toward Giovanni on the ground.

Giovanni stared at the battlefield covered in cold mist, his fingertips lightly brushing over Persian's back.

Groudon's furious roars kept coming from within the fog. Clearly, under White Kyurem's harassment, it was gradually showing signs of exhaustion.

His gaze swept over Mew, who was appearing and disappearing around the area, then shifted toward Grey, who sat calmly on Reshiram's back. Suddenly, he made a hidden gesture to Mega Beedrill.

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

A piercing hum abruptly sounded in the air. Mega Beedrill turned into a golden blur and tore through the air!

Reshiram sensed the crisis. As its dragon head turned, it spat out a spiral of flame wrapped in burning threads.

However, just as Beedrill was about to be swallowed by the flames, it climbed upward. Its wings trembled at high frequency as it hovered in midair.

Its thick poison needles immediately burst with an ominous purple glow. Countless poisonous blasts erupted in an instant, enveloping Grey and Reshiram!

The Poison-type move, Toxic!

"Protect."

Reshiram quickly unfolded a pale-green barrier, blocking all the poison that filled the sky.

The instant the energy of Protect faded, the Poké Ball Zinnia threw opened in midair.

A Pokémon shaped like a giant bat tore through the thick mist, beating its wings as it continuously approached Grey.

"Noi!"

It opened its mouth and released a deafening blast.

The violent sound waves turned into shock waves, shaking even the surrounding fog into a wild surge!

The Normal-type move, Boomburst!

Although Reshiram was completely unharmed by Boomburst's impact, Grey, who sat on its back, suffered badly.

The intense sound waves made his eardrums ring, forcing him to tightly cover both ears.

Although the power of Aura still allowed him to maintain telepathic contact with Reshiram and White Kyurem, the constant tinnitus felt like countless steel needles stirring inside his skull. Even his temples began to throb with bursts of pain.

The battle on both sides went back and forth.

Almost no one could take down the other side in a short time.

Half an hour passed just like that, and the situation between both sides remained deadlocked.

Just as Grey was thinking about launching a surprise attack, the roar of pouring rain suddenly came from the sky.

Dense dark clouds spread across the entire sky like spilled ink, and blinding lightning raced and flashed between the clouds.

Amid the symphony of torrential rain and thunder, a distant, ethereal whale cry pierced through the clouds.

Grey abruptly turned his head and saw a massive whale-like figure breaking through the rain curtain. Its deep-blue body looked like a moving mountain under the glow of lightning as it slowly approached the battlefield.

[Pokémon: Kyogre (Legendary Pokémon)]

[Type: Water]

[Level: ???]

[Ability: Drizzle]

[Moves: Water Spout, Origin Pulse… remaining omitted.]

The one who had arrived was Kyogre!

"Looks like our reinforcements have arrived."

The corners of Grey's mouth rose slightly.

The battlefield instantly shifted into a balanced three-on-three situation.

"Kyogre! I was just about to go looking for you. I didn't expect you to show yourself first. At least you're not wasting my time!"

The moment Groudon saw its old enemy Kyogre appear, it flew into a rage.

For the moment, it did not even care about White Kyurem anymore. It suddenly raised its giant claw and slammed the ground, causing countless stone spears wrapped in blazing magma to burst from the earth, all aimed specifically at Kyogre!

"Hmph, stubborn fool! You have been controlled by humans, yet you still want to have a battle with me?"

Kyogre simultaneously drew upon vast Water-type energy, and countless blue-green spheres of light appeared around its body.

These spheres immediately turned into dense beams of energy, carrying a shrill sound that tore through the air as they met Precipice Blades head-on!

Bang, bang, bang!

Origin Pulse and Precipice Blades collided violently. Shattered rocks flew everywhere, smashing countless pits into the surrounding ground.

With the collision of these two great moves, the sky split into two completely different scenes.

On one side was the torrential rain summoned by Kyogre, a silver-white curtain of rain covering heaven and earth.

On the other side was the scorching drought caused by Groudon, blazing sunlight roasting the ground.

The two super-ancient Pokémon each occupied one side, beginning a primal clash of natural authority!

"Hey, human holding the Blue Orb. You should understand my intention."

Kyogre's deep gaze turned toward Grey, its voice echoing directly inside his mind.

Grey raised an eyebrow in understanding and took out the orb flowing with natural power from his clothes.

The moment he activated its energy, blue light immediately enveloped Kyogre's entire body.

Within the dazzling radiance, Kyogre's form began to change rapidly.

Its originally blue shell gradually turned into a deep, dark blue, taking on a semi-transparent quality. Faint golden light patterns flowed within its body.

When Primal Reversion was completed, it had transformed into an ancient colossal beast that blotted out the sky, its entire body shining with the primal power of the world's beginning.

Kyogre, Primal Reversion!

Splash!

Under the boost of Primal Reversion, the heavy rain became even more violent. The dense rain curtain almost seemed to connect heaven and earth into one.

Ability, Primordial Sea!

Groudon's pupils stared hard at Grey, then it turned to Zinnia and transmitted its voice. "I do not care what you came here to do. After this, I will owe you a favor. Now, immediately activate the power of the Red Orb!"

That said…

Grey absolutely would not allow this variable to happen.

"Kyurem, Reshiram! Go straight at her!"

Since this was a wild brawl, of course they had to aim at the Trainer.

What, only Zinnia and Giovanni were allowed to ambush him, but Grey was not allowed to have Reshiram and Kyurem counterattack?

If he did not have so few powerful Pokémon that could fly, he really would have made Giovanni and Zinnia understand who the true king of wild brawls was.

White Kyurem and Reshiram changed their targets at the same time. Freezing breath and blue-white flames intertwined into true freezing cold flame, aimed straight at Zinnia herself!

"Damn human! Don't even think about stopping me from entering Primal Reversion!"

Groudon wanted to intervene and block them, but it was tightly sealed off by the towering waves raised by Primal Kyogre. It could only watch helplessly as Zinnia fell into crisis!

Whoosh!

At the critical moment, Mega Beedrill exploded with speed. Just as the moves were about to hit, it grabbed Zinnia around the waist and rapidly retreated.

But Salamence ultimately failed to dodge this round of combined attacks. The combination move from the two Legendary Pokémon hit its wings, making it cry out in pain. It could only drag its charred and frozen wings down from the sky before crashing heavily into the cracked ground.

To be honest, Grey had still held back a little.

If he had aimed at Salamence's torso, it probably would have been destined to lie in intensive care for several months.

At this moment, Zinnia thought she was safe.

The instant Mega Beedrill carried Zinnia out of danger, she quickly took out the Red Orb. Scorching energy had already begun flowing in her palm, and she prepared to seize this chance to let Groudon undergo Primal Reversion!

If not now, then when?!

"Stop! Now is not the time!"

Giovanni's warning suddenly rang out.

While Zinnia was stunned, she lowered her head and was shocked to discover that the orb in her hand had vanished without a trace.

That priceless treasure containing natural power had disappeared into thin air just like that!

"Hehe, this bead is so pretty. Let me borrow it for a few days."

Not far away, Mew was playfully floating in midair, its pink fingertips lightly spinning the Red Orb it had just obtained.

It winked at the dumbfounded Zinnia. Its figure gradually turned transparent, vanishing into the air together with the orb.

Buzz, buzz…

Mega Beedrill slowly landed on the shattered rocky ground and gently set Zinnia down.

"Damn it…"

Zinnia stared hard in the direction where Mew had disappeared, clenching her fists as all her unwillingness turned into a suppressed sigh.

When she turned to Giovanni to look for a plan, she only saw Mega Beedrill carrying Giovanni into the air.

That neat, suit-clad figure disappeared into the distance amid the fading sound of wingbeats, leaving behind a smiling farewell.

"There are still some matters at home that need to be handled. Please excuse me for leaving first."

Giovanni made a clean getaway.

In just the blink of an eye, only Zinnia remained on the rocky ground, facing the encirclement of three Legendary Pokémon alone. Her ally from moments ago had already vanished without a trace.

Zinnia forced out a stiff smile, her voice carrying a slight tremble. "G-Gym Leader Grey, if I said everything just now was a joke… would you believe me?"

"Heh."

The only response she received was Grey's cold snort.

White Kyurem landed in front of her, its enormous body casting a suffocating shadow.

It slightly lowered its head. The hum of its turbine tail was right beside her ears, and ice crystals fell beside Zinnia's feet with each breath it took.

Being stared at from such close range by a Legendary beast, Zinnia unconsciously took half a step back, only feeling that even breathing had become difficult.

Things were not going well for Groudon in the distance either.

Facing Primal Kyogre, Groudon, who had failed to awaken its true power, clearly lacked strength.

Every time it tried to gather Precipice Blades, Kyogre's Origin Pulse would break them apart with even more violent force. When it tried to summon the blazing sun, the torrential rain mercilessly extinguished its geothermal heat.

It was being completely suppressed.

"Kyogre, if you have the guts, let me enter Primal Reversion!"

"You idiot. Who gives an enemy a chance to counterattack?"

"Kyogre, you're scared!"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You, Groudon, are being beaten down by a scared Kyogre. This scared Kyogre can still enter Primal Reversion too. Doesn't that mean you, Groudon, can't even compare to scared little me?"

Kyogre made no attempt to hide its contempt for Groudon.

"Kyogre, I'll *%&!"

Groudon was so emotional that it directly escalated into a personal attack against another Pokémon.

Its impotent rage gradually carried traces of unwillingness. The patterns on its back armor flickered on and off, but it still could not break through Kyogre's complete suppression.

For the first time, this creator of the land had fallen into such a passive position before its old enemy. Every move was predicted, every counterattack was neutralized, as if the entire world had turned against it.

An indescribable humiliation surged in Groudon's chest.

If it had lost to its old enemy Rayquaza, then so be it. But now, to be completely suppressed by its longtime rival Kyogre, that was simply trampling on its dignity!

Scorching magma surged through its body. Every inch of its skin trembled with unwillingness.

If word of this defeat spread, where would it put its pride as the god of the land?

"Groudon, that title of yours, 'the one that can't fly,' has long been known throughout the human world."

Kyogre sneered. "In other words, you lost any pride you had left a long time ago."

"!!!"

Groudon's enormous body suddenly swayed, as if that precise follow-up strike had hit a vital point.

It opened its mouth, magma rolling in its throat, but in the end, it could not make a single sound to refute it.

After all, what the other side said was the damn truth!

At that moment.

Kyogre floated through the air and swam to Reshiram's side, raising its head to look at Grey, who sat on the dragon's neck. "Human, let this conflict end here. I believe Groudon no longer has the strength to counterattack."

It had vented enough anger. Continuing to fight would have no meaning.

Grey nodded slightly, his fingertips lightly brushing over the Blue Orb. "Then how should this orb be handled?"

"Return it to where it came from. This power should not remain for long in the hands of a mor… Hm? Are you human?"

Kyogre had originally wanted to say that this power should not remain in the hands of mortals.

But after sensing Grey's situation a little, he did not seem quite human.

"? Why are you insulting me?"

Grey raised an eyebrow. He had helped Kyogre, yet Kyogre turned around and said he was not human?

Was that reasonable?

"Ahem, there was a slight issue with my phrasing. Let me ask again: human, are you sure you are not a humanoid Pokémon?"

Grey: "???"

Wasn't that still saying he wasn't human?!

"Human, Kyogre insulted you, but I won't! How about this? Use the Red Orb to let me enter Primal Reversion, and then the several of us can gang up on Kyogre together!"

Groudon tried to pull Grey onto its side.
