The phone kept ringing persistently. Seeing that she wasn't picking up, the driver in front glanced back through the rearview mirror.
He then reminded, "Miss Lynch."
"Miss Lynch?"
His voice rose a bit.
Thea Lynch frowned, slowly opened her eyes.
Driver: "You have a call."
Because of the exhibition today, Thea had set her phone to the lowest volume, so any slight noise would drown out the ringtone.
The call was from Silas Cheney.
Thea answered, adjusting her posture.
"Hello."
"..." As soon as she spoke, Silas sensed something was off.
"I heard from others that you went out for a meal?"
"Yeah."
"Did you drink? Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. My uncle sent someone to pick me up. I should be at the hotel soon."
Silas breathed a sigh of relief, "Alright, well, get a good rest when you get back."
He must have called for a reason. Thea asked, "What's up?"
"Nothing urgent, we can talk tomorrow when you have time."
