"Hey, what do you need me for?"
"Ace is about to be in trouble."
"What?! Explain!"
The moment Koji said something had happened to Ace, Garp could no longer sit still. Although Ace was not his biological grandson, his feelings as a grandfather had never been fake.
"Ace went after Blackbeard Teach, a crewmate from the same ship. He's no match for Teach. He'll definitely lose."
"Ace isn't weak, is he?"
Garp had not seen Ace for a while, but Ace had inherited Pirate King Roger's bloodline. As long as he developed steadily, even if he could not reach Roger's level, he should still be able to get close.
"They say the scars on Shanks's face were left by Blackbeard Teach."
"Blackbeard ate a special Logia-type Yami Yami no Mi, the Dark-Dark Fruit. When he activates its power, he can stop other ability users from using their abilities."
"…"
Garp fell silent. That answer had directly confirmed the bad premonition rising in his heart.
The fact that Blackbeard could injure Red-Hair was enough to prove his strength. The special Dark-Dark Fruit was extremely effective against ability users. The best way to fight it would be with martial arts and Haki.
As far as Garp knew, Ace's martial arts and Haki were fairly average. He relied somewhat heavily on the Flame-Flame Fruit.
If Blackbeard could injure Red-Hair, regardless of how he had done it, it at least proved that he was also a skilled martial artist.
Putting all those conditions together, Ace truly had no chance of winning.
"He knows Ace's background."
"How is that possible?!"
Hearing that sentence, Garp's pupils suddenly shrank. Ace's identity was far too sensitive. If Blackbeard knew about it, there were too many ways he could exploit it.
No. He had to find Ace and stop the worst possible outcome from happening.
"Friendly reminder: Blackbeard Teach's real surname isn't Marshall. It should be Rocks. Rocks D. Teach!"
Boom!
Garp felt as if he had been struck by lightning. His expression turned extremely grave. He was far too familiar with the name Rocks.
Rocks D. Xebec. That pirate whose three types of Haki were as monstrous as a beast's. Even when he and Roger teamed up, they had still found it difficult to gain the upper hand.
That man actually had descendants?
Compared to Rocks's record, even the title of Pirate King was at a disadvantage.
Now it was certain. Ace had absolutely no hope of winning.
"Where are they?"
Garp decided to go there personally. Although Teach was a descendant of that monster Rocks, his strength definitely could not be as abnormal as Rocks's.
If it were, he would never have stayed under Whitebeard. He would have directly overthrown Whitebeard instead.
"Blackbeard should be around Mock Town right now. He hasn't run into Ace yet, but he should run into your grandson Luffy," Koji said.
"I understand."
Garp did not think too much about it and directly ordered Bogard to set sail. After all, there were so many Devil Fruit abilities out there. An ability that could predict the future was perfectly normal.
On Koji's side, the Transponder Snail call ended painfully abruptly. Garp was truly anxious. After all, both of his grandsons might be in danger.
Blackbeard was still in the early stage of starting his career. The people under him did not have Devil Fruit abilities yet. Garp could deal with them one punch at a time. Only Blackbeard himself would be a little troublesome.
"Darling, now that you've said that, Blackbeard is going to have a miserable time," Lumine said with a smile.
The Dark-Dark Fruit was very useful against ability users, but against Garp, a pure martial artist and Haki powerhouse, its effect would be greatly reduced.
However, the timing was still a bit early. Luffy and the others had probably only just gone up to Skypiea.
"Just acting on a whim."
Koji simply wanted to watch the fun. Blackbeard flying into a rage would definitely be interesting.
To this world, he was nothing more than a passerby. He could simply do whatever his heart wanted.
…
At the G-5 Branch, Vergo stood on the dock. Aokiji's arrival had already been reported to him in advance, so he did not feel anything was wrong. It was not rare for an admiral to inspect a branch.
However, where was this unease in his heart coming from?
Aokiji stood at the bow of the ship and looked at Marine Vice Admiral Vergo. Who would have thought that this vice admiral with a decent reputation was actually an undercover agent?
Forget it. He should hurry up and take Vergo down.
"Ice Ball!"
Aokiji suddenly exerted force. In an instant, he hurled the ice forward, directly freezing Vergo into a block of ice.
The sudden turn of events left the soldiers nearby dumbfounded. They did not understand why Admiral Aokiji had suddenly attacked.
A terrifying chill continuously invaded Vergo's body, stealing away his control over it.
"Vergo, subordinate of Doflamingo and undercover agent planted in the Marines, you are under arrest."
Aokiji arrived at the dock and spoke calmly.
The Marines revealed incredulous expressions.
Vice Admiral Vergo was an undercover agent?
Inside the ice, Vergo's heart instantly sank when he heard those words.
How did Aokiji know about this?
Meanwhile, in the waters not far outside Mock Town.
"Zehahahaha! Monkey D. Luffy, I'm here to take your head!"
Blackbeard Teach and his crew chased after the Merry.
"He's dangerous."
Zoro frowned. He could feel the dangerous aura Blackbeard was giving off. This guy was a monster.
Luffy nodded. This guy really was strong.
"Brat, whose head did you say you wanted to take?"
"I didn't hear you clearly. Say it again for this old man."
Garp, wearing a dog-head mask, used Geppo to walk through the air. This guy really was a dangerous element. He actually wanted to attack his adorable grandson.
"Grandpa?!"
Luffy's eyes widened. Even from just his back, he could recognize him immediately.
Nami and the others were stunned.
In other words, this person was the hero Garp?
"Garp?!"
Teach's expression changed drastically. How had he run into this monster? This was not someone he could touch right now.
Wait.
Whose grandpa was under that mask?
Cold sweat poured down Teach's body. The two of them indeed both had the surname Monkey, but almost no one would connect a pirate with the hero Garp.
If he had known Straw Hat was Garp's biological grandson, he definitely would not have made a move this time.
"Brat, that's my real grandson!"
"Genkotsu Impact!"
Dense, pure Armament Haki covered Garp's fist. The name "Iron Fist" was something Garp had earned with his fists. A violent force slammed into Blackbeard Teach's face.
A storm howled and tore through the air. Teach was sent flying by a single punch, directly blasted back into Mock Town.
When Garp hit people, he hit the head. Famous powerhouses had all been struck in the head by Garp's head-locking fists. It could be said that nobody wanted to fight this monster who only aimed for the head. After fighting him, their heads would usually be ringing nonstop.
"So amazing!" Nami cried out.
One punch had torn Blackbeard's ship apart and sent the captain flying. His subordinates were all blown away by the aftermath of the fist wind as well.
There were no flashy techniques to see. It was a single punch of pure raw stats, as if it could tear apart heaven and earth.
The hero Garp really was as strong as a monster.
