Chapter 152 - Chapter 148 : we should be close to the depths of the Tagore Desert

High above the clear sky, a blazing sun hung overhead, pouring scorching light across the golden desert.

The fine grains of sand were baked until they felt like glowing iron pellets beneath the heat.

Within the desert, waves of hot air seeped up from the yellow sands, distorting the air until the space itself appeared warped and unreal.

In the endless sea of sand, two figures slowly emerged. Judging by their dust-covered faces, it was obvious they had been wandering the desert for quite some time.

Moments later, the two climbed to the crest of a towering sand dune and scanned their surroundings.

The man on the left retrieved a sheepskin map from his storage ring and carefully studied the route.

"According to this map, we should be close to the depths of the Tagore Desert," Xiao Jian said in a slightly hoarse voice as his finger traced a route across the map.

He licked his dry lips and glanced at Xiao Yan beside him.

"This damned desert is way too big," Xiao Yan sighed helplessly, forcing a bitter smile. "It took us a full month just to get here from Stone Desert City.

If Elder Hai's map didn't mark the supply points so precisely, we'd be in serious trouble."

After leaving Stone Desert City, the two had followed the map straight toward the depths of the Tagore Desert.

The weather here was unpredictable and harsh, so they traveled on foot the entire way, cultivating as they advanced.

Within the Tagore Desert, aside from the magical beasts hidden beneath the sands, the most dangerous presence was undoubtedly the Snake-People.

Few were willing to make enemies of them, as their methods.....using venomous snakes for surprise attacks.....were nearly impossible to guard against.

However, what was a nightmare for ordinary travelers posed little threat to Xiao Jian and Xiao Yan.

With an accurate map and Elder Yao's powerful soul perception assisting them, they were always able to avoid Snake-People tribes and patrols before danger arrived.

Of course, unexpected encounters still happened from time to time.

In such cases, the brothers showed no mercy, striking swiftly and decisively to eliminate their enemies before any alarm could be raised.

After all, being hunted by large numbers of Snake-People in the desert would be a massive headache.

Between cautious travel and continuous cultivation, their progress was slow. It had taken them a full month to finally approach the desert's depths.
