Ash never expected Giratina to volunteer for the battle.
Who would have thought, Giratina, a Divine Realm Level Peak! A Divine Realm Level Peak!!
This is a Pokemon at the pinnacle of the world, second only to the Creator God Arceus, actually interested in a battle of this level.
Even Mewtwo was a bit dumbfounded.
"Aren't you embarrassed participating in such a fight as a Divine Realm Level Peak?"
This is just a complete one-sided match!
What could Giratina be thinking, wanting to join a battle of this level? Could it be feeling too oppressed by its previous battle with Rayquaza?
Ash's brow furrowed slightly.
Recently, Giratina has been resting and slowly regaining its strength within its Pokeball.
Like Mewtwo, it seldom comes out, except for mealtimes, spending most of its time training in seclusion.
It truly lives up to the name of living in seclusion.
Why is it suddenly asking to battle?
'What's wrong?' Ash silently asked in his mind, 'Are you feeling unwell?'
'No discomfort.' Giratina's deep voice was full of interest, 'I just got a bit excited watching your recent battles from inside the Pokeball.'
'The opponent is a Ghost Type and Dragon Type, just like my attributes, so I wanted to come out and have some fun.'
Ash's mouth twitched slightly.
Goddamn Ghost and Dragon Types, if anything, you're the ancestor of the Ghost and Dragon Types!
The opposing Ghost Dragon Dragapult might just crash the moment it sees you!
If I let Giratina participate in this one, it would be like an ancestor beating up their descendant, how unfair!
'Do you just want to come out to dominate?'
'You could say that.' Giratina unabashedly admitted, 'Mainly, I want to experience your human Pokemon battles, so, can I join?'
Ash thought for a moment and showed a helpless smile.
'Alright, alright, since you want to play, go ahead.'
'At least it saves me the hassle of deciding.'
'But do take it easy! If you go too hard, even Mewtwo won't be able to control the overflow of your attacks.'
Right now, Giratina's level is even stronger than Mewtwo's.
Though without the Griseous Orb, it can't return to its peak, but Divine Realm Level Peak is still Divine Realm Level Peak.
Its power outburst is something even Mewtwo needs to defend against with all its might.
As for using a barrier to enclose the entire battlefield to prevent attack spillover... do you think this is a Champion Level battle?
Thus, Ash repeatedly stressed to Giratina not to go overboard!
Or else the situation would spiral out of control.
'Don't worry.' Giratina answered nonchalantly, 'I know my limits.'
With its assurance, Ash felt a bit relieved.
He reached to his other side at his waist and took out a distinctly different Pokeball.
This Pokeball was different from the ordinary red and white ones, its body a deep black hue with a dark luster, and gold patterns embellishing the edges.
This Pokeball was specially crafted for Giratina by Kurt.
An ordinary Pokeball couldn't contain Giratina's power level, only a Pokeball made from special materials could hold Giratina's energy.
With a normal Pokeball, even the slightest stretch from Giratina could cause it to explode!
In the audience, Clair was stunned seeing the Pokeball in Ash's hand.
Her mind went blank as it flooded with confusion.
'Wait, where did this Pokeball come from? Doesn't Ash already have six Pokemon?'
She quickly counted in her head.
The Greninja, Snorlax, Pikachu on the shoulder seen at Blackthorn Gym before...
Plus today's Lucario, Little Lugia, Charizard, Gardevoir at Hammerlocke Gym...
Except for the airborne Charizard, not counting towards the carry slots, the remaining six were just right, so how could there possibly be other Pokeballs?
According to League rules, any Pokemon over six gets automatically sent back to where the PokeDex was given or a designated backroom.
Though there are Trainers with more than six carry slots, Clair knew six Pokemon was already the limit for taking care of them properly.
Any more, and training, feeding, and bonding would become too taxing.
It's like constantly dividing one's emotions into seven or eight parts, how could it be easy?
A Trainer of Ash's caliber shouldn't likely have more than six Pokemon!
And this seventh... no, eighth? Ninth? She couldn't even keep count!
Clair looked incredulously at Lance beside her.
Lance shrugged and said, "Looking at me won't help, who knows how many carry slots Ash has?"
"That kid's already done plenty of things we didn't expect, so it wouldn't be surprising if he had more than six slots, either."
Cynthia, beside them, just smiled gently, she wasn't surprised at all.
After all, she knew Ash had a monster like Mewtwo, which already made more than seven.
As for the one Ash is about to reveal now...
Her golden eyes flickered with a hint of doubt. The color scheme of this Pokeball, and the Pokemon Ash currently possesses...
Wait a minute, Ash wouldn't use that one, would he!!
In the center of the arena, Ash gently tossed the black and gold Pokeball.
"The next one might be a bit overwhelming for Gym Leader Raihan."
"I choose you, Giratina!"
As the black and gold Pokemon landed in the arena, light slowly gathered at the center and took shape.
The next moment, a massive and awe-inspiring figure appeared on the field.
Its entire body was covered in a thick layer of pitch-black scales, with six sharp, black spike-like horns growing around its head, and a golden Y-shaped mask covering the front.
Six long appendages extended from the sides of its body, each ending in sharp claws that were colored in gold and red, shining with a mysterious sheen under the sunlight.
The entire body floated in midair, its eerie red eyes slowly opened, emitting a terrifying pressure that sent chills down the spine.
"Roar—!"
Giratina let out a low growl, causing the air around the battle arena to momentarily freeze.
That pressure wasn't directly directed at anyone, but just the mere presence of Giratina on the field made everyone feel a suffocating sense of oppression.
On the other side of the arena, Raihan was stupefied.
"This..."
He instinctively furrowed his brows, carefully scrutinizing the massive figure on the field.
"What kind of Pokemon is this? How come I've never seen it before?"
As a top-notch Champion Level Trainer, Raihan had studied various types of Pokemon across different regions.
There weren't many Pokemon types he hadn't seen.
Yet today, Ash had already pulled out two Pokemon he was completely unfamiliar with.
The previously revealed dark form of Little Lugia was already rare enough, and now this colossal pitch-black creature emerged.
Raihan's gaze filled with curiosity swept across the audience seats, hoping that Cynthia, the locals of Johto, and the Sinnoh Region champions could provide an answer.
But upon this glance, he nearly scared himself.
Cynthia abruptly stood up from her seat.
The usually composed and serene Sinnoh Champion's face was now filled with an undeniable expression of shock.
Her golden eyes were wide open in surprise, and her small red mouth was agape, her entire expression seemingly spelling out "unbelievable" directly on her face.
"How is Ash using this Pokemon..." she murmured in disbelief, her tone tinged with incredulity, "Has he gone mad?"
Beside her, Clair noticed Cynthia's reaction, and her own expression turned peculiar.
Her reaction wasn't as exaggerated as Cynthia's, after all, she couldn't even recognize what breed this Pokemon was.
Although its aura looked intimidating enough, and its appearance was imposing beyond belief, she had no recollection of such a Pokemon.
"Cynthia, what happened to you?" Clair asked cautiously.
Cynthia didn't respond immediately, instead, she continued to stare directly at the figure on the field.
Meanwhile, Lance, after carefully observing the Pokemon for a few seconds, his reaction turned out even more dramatic than Cynthia's.
He likewise abruptly stood from his seat, his facial expression instantly frozen stiff.
"No... no way!" Lance's Adam's apple moved up and down multiple times, his eyes full of shock, "How does Ash have such a Pokemon?!"
Cynthia, at least, already knew Ash had Giratina, so her shock stemmed more from "Ash actually dared to use it."
But Lance... He had no idea Ash had a Legendary Beast of such caliber!
His Champion Trainer composure was directly crushed by Ash's Giratina!
Clair, confused by the duo's reactions, quickly turned to Lance for answers.
"Brother Lance, what kind of Pokemon is this that has you and Cynthia so shocked?"
Lance took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down before slowly speaking: "This is... the God of Reversal, Giratina."
"The God of Reversal?" Clair repeated the name in bewilderment.
"Yes." Lance's tone turned incredibly solemn, "It's a legendary existence, governing the reverse of our world, the so-called Reverse World."
"This Legendary Beast is one of the Space-Time Three Gods created by the Creator God Arceus, alongside the God of Time Dialga and the God of Space Palkia, of the same tier... No, it's even stronger!"
"Legend has it that Giratina was banished to the Reverse World by Arceus due to its excessively violent nature, from then on independently overseeing that dimension, opposite to our world."
"It's on the same tier as the Sea God Lugia, truly standing at the pinnacle of the world's creatures."
"And what's even more terrifying..."
Lance paused, then continued.
"Lugia at least has a species; the Sea God is simply the mightiest of that species."
"But Giratina... there's only one in this world, the unique true God of Reversal."
"So, the one on the field is indeed the genuine God of Reversal itself, with powers firmly at the Divine Domain Peak according to legendary records!"
Clair's beautiful eyes widened even further upon hearing this explanation while her red lips parted in shock.
Divine Domain Peak!
The true God of Reversal of the same tier as the Sea God!
Wha... What kind of international joke is this!!
Such a being at the Divine Domain Peak! The Divine Domain Peak!!
A creature capable of stomping and sinking the entire Blackthorn City, commanding the laws of the world, the utmost pinnacle level on earth!
And now it's appearing in a simple Gym battle; no wonder Cynthia said Ash was crazy!
This really is insane!
If she were to meet such a Pokemon in a Gym battle, her resolve would surely be shattered directly!
From just now until now, each Pokemon Ash has revealed shattered her worldview with Giratina's emergence; the intensity could not be surpassed!
"How does Ash have such a level of Pokemon?"
"Facing something like this, leave alone Raihan, even if Leon came he'd probably get KO'd, right?!"
On the other side of the audience, Misty, Brock, and Serena exchanged looks, each showing a face of helpless amusement.
Misty resignedly rubbed her forehead.
"Ash, this guy really doesn't know when to stop today."
"Using Giratina in a Gym battle, Raihan might cry."
Brock sighed too.
"He probably didn't find a suitable Pokemon at the moment."
"Otherwise, given Ash's character, he wouldn't use Giratina."
Serena, on the other hand, looked at Raihan on the other side of the field with a sympathetic gaze.
"Gym Leader Raihan... my condolences."
On the field, Raihan was baffled by everyone's reactions, especially seeing Serena's sympathetic expression that made him even more uneasy.
"Hey, hey, hey, what's going on? What exactly is this Pokemon?"
Because the few people communicated not too loudly, Raihan only caught fragments.
Therefore, he's still clueless about what kind of Pokemon Ash has, or why everyone's eyes are so strange.
Lance shook his head with a wry smile and shouted at Raihan on the field: "Raihan, it's probably better if you don't know what this Pokemon is."
"?" Raihan looked puzzled.
"What's this about? I can accept even the legendary Sea God, what else can't I accept?"
Cynthia also spoke, her tone surprisingly persuasive: "Lance is right, wait until this battle is over and we'll tell you."
"Knowing now might influence your performance."
