Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Aftermath

I fell down on my buttocks and went limp.

My lung burned and tasted the iron in my tongue.

Massive unignorable pain scourged through my abdomen.

As I groaned.

I leaned against the wall as if that was going to do anything.

I looked over to my left.

Amelia finally threw final punch to her opponent.

Sending him flying.

And landed besides the group.

"Ah! FUCK!" He yelled while he was holding his bleeding nose.

It was non other than Hermann.

Amelia wiped away the blood on her face before she extended her hands.

And moved her fingers to signal to them to come and fight.

The group grinded their teeth whilst panting.

"Come on! Is that all you got!" Amelia shouted.

Soon Hermann stood up from his feet and looked over at us.

"Lets leave!" He shouted lowly before turning around and leaving.

The others soon followed behind him.

But before they left them, Hermann quickly looked back.

"What?" Amelia said.

Hermann looked down to his feet to see a bag of breads.

Before quickly snatching it and dashed away.

This little twat

"Hey! Give that ba-"

Before Amelia shouted further, I interrupted.

"Just leave them alone. Don't get yourself hurt further." I said.

"Tsk" Amelia said.

She turned around to see me blood all over my face.

"My lord, they beat you up good." She approached and kneeled down beside me.

"It's not that bad. Just a few bruises."

She raised her hand towards my face.

I instinctively pulled away.

"What are you doing? Didn't you hear what I said, Its not that ba-"

"I perfectly heard what you said idiot, but I'm pretty sure they smashed a wooden board behind your skull."

I glazed over her face.

She had a black eye with bruises around her cheek and lips.

And her nose bleeding.

But she reacted indifferently to her injuries.

Worrying more about mine than herself.

I slowly nodded.

Amelia responded by reaching her hand to the back of my head.

Suddenly a burst of pain shot right through my head the moment her fingers laid upon my skull.

I pulled away.

"Fuck! That hurts!"

"I've barely even touched and look."

I turned my eyes upon her hand to see almost covered in blood.

"Your bleeding, ALOT actually." She said.

"Pfft! Its just blood! It can't be THAT bad right?"

"..."

Her face turned dead serious when I said that.

"Heh...I guess it is that bad."

She exhaled.

"Can you at least move?" She said.

"Um..."

I looked over to my legs and when I tried to move them.

They were heavy as a boulder and tore my muscles.

"I don't think I can honestly." I chuckled.

She exhaled again.

"Idiot, how the hell did you get in trouble."

"I don't know."

She raised an eyebrow at my answer before she stood up and reached out her hand.

I smiled lightly seeing her reach out.

Then I grabbed her hand pulled myself up with the support of Amelia.

My arm went over herself and from there on carried me.

"You know Amelia. How did you learn how to fight?" I asked.

"Hmm...well, my father was a boxer back then. Really good too.

He was known as the greatest boxer in his street nicknamed the Iron Weber."

"Huh, that's surprising. So you learned his boxing skill?"

"I did, he always taught me to be tough but also kind to others."

"Ironic because you never kind to me."

"Yes but that's how my father treated me too. Cold and harsh but I guess that's how he showed his love for me."

"So your saying all the things you've done to me was out of kindness?"

"Of course. Didn't tell you that?"

"I mean yes but I thought you were just pitiful though do are kind of the same or is it?"

"Don't know but look at yourself now! You were able to hold yourself off against them and even survived too! How could you have survived if it weren't for me?" She said.

"Heh, I guess your right. I did stand my ground, if it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't have gotten in trouble in the first place."

"Are you saying that it was my fault that your inju-"

"Yes." I cut her off.

She scoffed and shook her hand.

"Idiot."
