The hospital corridor had finally fallen silent. The frantic rush of doctors and nurses had long faded, leaving behind only the distant hum of medical equipment and the occasional soft footsteps echoing through the polished hallway.
Outside Raya's hospital room, no one spoke. The air felt thick with anticipation and unspoken fears.
Adrian remained standing where he had been for what felt like an eternity. His once immaculate black shirt was still stained with dried blood, stiff against his skin. He hadn't changed. He hadn't left. He hadn't even considered it. Every second away from Raya felt like a punishment he deserved.
