Chapter 87 - Perfect Awareness

Young Todor, 13 years old, while he was already a chess grandmaster, skipped a "few" grades in school, because he was too smart. He literally made jokes about grades, "The best grade, which is 'A' is from 90%? Well then, all my grades I will have will be 'A', which all of them will be with a score of exactly 90%" , and succeeded.

Daytime, in a relatively crowded supermarket, Todor walks around, tracking every single pattern and little detail he could possibly notice. In his note he has already written down almost 100 lines, though he writes non-stop, he cannot fast enough, notices hundreds of details in a minute, but is not capable of keeping up.

A normal person would try to increase their writing speed, Todor makes a whole constructed language with hundreds of acceptably simple symbols, with some dot and line modifiers that can alter the meaning of the letters or words. After that, finally was able to write about as fast as he was noticing details and events around him.

While writing, stumbles and falls on his hands and knees.

Stranger: Watch out kid! Are you okay?

Todor stays on the floor for a few seconds. Gets up, and walks away.

Todor (Not working... Not working! This is not perfect! I'm not even noticing I'm accidentally going to misstep!)

Nights went sleepless, trying to notice every subtle sound. What was the difference between them, if it came from something that is moving, like a car from outside, how fast was the car going? What kind of motor the car is using. Paying attention to the feeling on the bed, his body. The thoughts often left him unable to sleep because of headaches of too much information.

The brain naturally ignores about 99.99% of sensory input. Humans evolved this way, even professional fighters and athletes filter out about 95%. This was his goal at the moment, to bring this percentile as low as possible. That is if he would master it, it would be a technique called "Perfect Awareness". Possible that no one would even be able to make it after Todor, the average person would suffer from sensory overload, leading to early fatigue, constant headaches and more.

A whole year later, at the age of 14

Todor with his family went to play football on the nearby field. Todor had to play alone against his father and two cousins at the same time, but still won without any difficulty. He was really good at sports as well.

Soon he sat down on the bench, leaned back, facing up, closed his eyes to rest a little.

His cousins kept passing the ball between each other, then...

One time, the time between two kicks were much shorter, and the sound was louder as well, also as if it would have been kicked from a little bit more sideways as before, the sound of the ball flying is also different, even though normal people wouldn't even notice it, because the brain ignores. Of course, this is played down only on the subconscious level for Todor, yet...

Suddenly, right before the ball would hit Todor in the face really hard, catches the ball. Only after that Todor opens his eyes and realises what he actually did. Even he was surprised.

Todor (My hand... moved by its own?)

Cousin: Wow! Nice catch!

Todor (Was this... Because of my training?)

Age: 15

Todor has mostly mastered the skill, he does not consciously observe most things anymore. When he is outside, he can detect storms subconsciously sometimes even 7-8 hours before it hits in. How? Atmospheric pressure drops, his body recognizes infrasounds even though he cannot hear them, because they are below 20Hz, the ozone changing in the air, he can already detect

At this age, he was also already obsessed with the show called Big Win Chance Game, watched all 15 seasons, and memorized all players names, numbers, and the games they have gone and failed at, and how they failed, that's hundreds of matches. This is when he realised the connection between the random number generation rule in the finals against Oli, with the help of his Perfect Awareness, already amazing memory all combined with the memory palace technique to keep in mind every little detail. He technically became a walking dictionary about the show at the age of 15.

The year after that, he started to learn how to use his body perfectly, how to have perfect control over it. At 16, he already knew how to force his central nervous system to recruit 100% of available muscle fibers, which is usually capped at ~60%+ in order to keep the body safe. Trained his tendons, optimized joint angles for regular movements to keep the effort at minimum.

Learned to surpass flight-or-fight reflexes, the feeling of the need to eat through metacognition.

Basically, he lived to get out the maximum of the human body that is theoretically possible. He got the seemingly perfect genes to do it, and he has the discipline to do it, but as time have passed, the older he get, the more he kept his achievements in secret, didn't want others to realise how much more he is than he shows, even though he is already accepted as the smartest person to every live.

He kept training himself to get out the maximum, the time he went to participate he already have done about everything he could think to achieve, especially now, that he is about the age where they say the human brain performs at its peak, the mid 20s

In the blind bet, he also found a good usage of another sensory training he had done.

LOSE?

Todor (No, if there is a possible solution, I will find it. Did they team up?)

Places his palm against the ground, after little time, he feels something

Todor (One card reader is buzzing, they are a team, the one who is doing it is not Bandeer, the others seemed really calm before.)

This one alone for Todor was enough for Todor to deduce the mathematically unbeatable strategy of the alliance.
