Naruto's Nine-Tails Sage Mode was still his first time using it. Although he was bombarding Jiraiya with the Nine-Tails' seemingly limitless chakra, his lack of proficiency caused him to repeatedly leave openings during the fight, allowing Jiraiya to counterattack.
Naruto's combat methods were relatively simple—relying on a combination of taijutsu, Rasengan, Shadow Clones, Nine-Tails power, and senjutsu chakra.
Aside from the raw power granted by the Nine-Tails, all of these methods were inferior to Jiraiya's. As the battle went on, Jiraiya gradually figured out Naruto's attack patterns.
The moment Naruto began forming a Rasengan, Jiraiya took the initiative and closed the distance.
"Boss! Big Sis!"
Fukasaku and Shima instantly understood Jiraiya's intent. They clasped their hands together.
"Sage Art: Tongue Slash!"
The two toads infused the senjutsu chakra they had refined into their long tongues, hardening them to the limit. Their tongues shot out at extreme speed, piercing straight through Naruto's wrist.
The Rasengan that had just taken shape in Naruto's hand lost control and detonated in his palm.
The shockwave from the explosion blasted Naruto away, sending him crashing heavily into the ground.
When Naruto struggled back to his feet, the sleeve on his right arm had completely vanished, and his arm was covered in countless tiny wounds.
Under the influence of the Nine-Tails' chakra, those wounds began healing at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Kurama warned him,
"Naruto, your senjutsu chakra is about to run out. You've got less than a minute left in Nine-Tails Sage Mode. Watch the time."
Naruto lowered his head, his face hidden from view.
He understood clearly that, at his current level—still unable to fully control his power—revenge was impossible.
If that was the case, then he would make sure they remembered this day… the fear he would carve into them.
"Kurama, give me everything you've got—support me with all your chakra!"
A vicious glint flashed in Naruto's eyes.
With Kurama's chakra backing him, the chakra around Naruto's body surged violently, almost as if it were solid, rolling outward in waves.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Dozens of Naruto's shadow clones appeared across the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Naruto's true body—assisted by two shadow clones—began rapidly forming a Rasengan.
Unlike before, this Rasengan, infused with Wind Release chakra, began expanding continuously.
Jiraiya sensed that the power of this technique was far beyond what they could withstand and immediately shouted,
"We have to stop Naruto—now!"
With that, Jiraiya charged forward, attempting to interrupt him.
Heeding Jiraiya's warning, the others rushed toward Naruto's main body as well.
However, Naruto's shadow clones intercepted them, blocking their advance and preventing anyone from getting close.
Moments later, Naruto's technique was complete.
In his palm spun a massive Rasengan shaped like a gigantic shuriken.
Jiraiya's expression turned grave. As the original creator of the Rasengan, he instantly grasped the principle behind the technique.
By adding Wind Release's nature transformation on top of the Rasengan's base, then applying shape transformation, what appeared to be a giant Rasengan shuriken was in fact a conglomeration of countless microscopic chakra blades.
With the added amplification of senjutsu chakra and Nine-Tails chakra, the power of this technique had far surpassed the level of an ordinary S-rank ninjutsu.
At that moment, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Kakashi Hatake, and Tsunade finally arrived from Konoha.
Hiruzen shouted sternly at Naruto,
"Naruto! Everyone here is your comrade! What do you think you're doing?!"
Naruto let out a cold laugh.
"What am I doing? Are you blind? Of course I'm taking revenge on all of you."
Hiruzen's face filled with sorrow.
"Why…? Wasn't your dream always to become Hokage?"
"If I hadn't been pretending, I'd have died by your hands long ago! Since you're asking why, I'll give you my reasons. You hid my identity as the Fourth Hokage's son, let those idiots bully me, had ANBU watching me every single day, stripped me of all freedom, handed me over to Root, where I was tortured by Danzō—are those reasons enough for you, Hiruzen Sarutobi?!"
A furious Jiraiya grabbed Hiruzen by the collar.
"Old man! You handed Naruto over to that bastard Danzō?! Have you forgotten?! Danzō was suspected of involvement in the Nine-Tails incident! What the hell were you thinking?!"
Hiruzen, consumed by guilt, couldn't meet Jiraiya's eyes. Even now, he still tried to defend Danzō.
"Danzō… he did it for Konoha…"
Jiraiya stared at him, disappointment flooding his eyes.
"For Konoha? Orochimaru's defection, the Nine-Tails disaster, the Uchiha massacre—Danzō was involved in all of them! Were those all 'for Konoha'? As Hokage, is Danzō the only one you see?!"
Hiruzen gave no answer.
Tsunade spoke up,
"Stop Naruto first. These issues can be dealt with one by one once we return to Konoha. Right now, Konoha cannot afford to lose Naruto."
Jiraiya released Hiruzen and looked at Naruto with deep sorrow.
"I'm sorry, Naruto… I neglected you all this time…"
Naruto cut him off with undisguised disgust.
"As Minato Namikaze's teacher, and with Kakashi as his student—you both knew who I was. But did you ever help me even once? Don't put on that fake act now. It's sickening."
Kakashi lowered his head in shame. The death of his friend and the sacrifice of his teacher had plunged him into darkness back then—so much so that he didn't even dare to visit Naruto.
"Die—every last one of you!
Sage Art: Wind Style—Rasenshuriken!"
Naruto hurled the Rasenshuriken forward.
The crowd tensed in terror as the technique approached.
Hiruzen immediately created two shadow clones.
"Three-Way Barrier!"
The original body and the two clones positioned themselves to the east, south, and west, each unfolding a green, translucent pyramid-shaped barrier, shielding all the Konoha ninja inside.
The Rasenshuriken slammed into the Three-Way Barrier, emitting a piercing shriek.
In an instant, it spun at extreme speed, generating a violent vortex.
Under Naruto's overwhelming power, cracks began spreading across Hiruzen's barrier.
Within seconds, the Three-Way Barrier shattered completely. The Rasenshuriken howled onward toward the Konoha ninja.
At the critical moment, Kakashi uncovered his left eye. The three-tomoe Sharingan transformed into the Mangekyō Sharingan.
"Kamui!"
Kakashi focused on the Rasenshuriken. A distortion point appeared at its center, warping space and drawing the technique into another dimension.
However, the Rasenshuriken was composed of innumerable microscopic chakra blades—it was impossible to absorb it completely.
Some of its fragments still struck the crowd.
The ultra-high-density chakra, warped and spinning at terrifying speed, completely destroyed the cells of several Konoha ninja, killing them instantly.
