Valentina arrived in their midst, backed Luciano, and focused on Damian.
"Hey, didn't think you'd really come. Thanks for coming," she said to him.
"No, it's not a problem at all. I was just telling Luce here how great you are, and we haven't even worked a job together yet."
"Right, can we go now?" She said in a hasty tone.
"Valentina?" Luciano called to her before Damian could respond.
She sighed internally, wondering what it was this time.
"Yes?" She answered because she didn't want to give Damian any insight to their strained relationship.
"Nothing, I just wanted to tell you to have a good day. I'll hang around with the twins a bit," he said, changing his mind about what he was going to say as soon as he opened his mouth to speak.
"Okay. Take care. Shall we?" She said to Damian.
He gave Luciano a goodbye nod, and led Valentina away.
Luciano watched them leave together, and all he could feel in that moment was the kind of despair he couldn't explain.
