Chapter 382: Black Zetsu Dies, Obito Arrives
"This is bad! Obito, Nag— you…"
Black Zetsu had been just about to report that Nagato had been killed by a mysterious enemy and that the Rinnegan had been stolen when he suddenly noticed the Rinnegan in Obito's eyes. His voice caught in his throat, and he stood frozen, staring in shock at the Rinnegan now embedded in Obito's eye sockets.
"You… was it you who did it?"
After a long moment, Black Zetsu seemed to come to his senses—Obito must have been the one who killed Nagato. But then he shook his head.
"No… it wasn't you. It couldn't have been you!"
"But then…"
Black Zetsu muttered to himself, his thoughts spinning in chaos.
Logically, Obito couldn't have been the one to kill Nagato. If it were, the White Zetsu should have sensed his chakra.
But if it wasn't Obito—then why were Nagato's Rinnegan now in Obito's eyes?
It didn't make sense!
"How did you do it?"
In the end, facts spoke louder than speculation. Black Zetsu voiced his confusion. He truly couldn't figure out how Obito had avoided White Zetsu's detection to kill Nagato.
And that white-violet lightning—clearly not one of Obito's jutsu—had appeared on the Six Paths of Pain.
Not to mention the sensory-blocking barrier ninjutsu—that wasn't a technique Obito knew either.
So what the hell had happened?
Black Zetsu was filled with unanswered questions. Meanwhile, Obito's clone just smiled, walked over, and placed a hand on Black Zetsu's shoulder.
"Want to know?"
"Uh… this place…?"
Black Zetsu instinctively nodded—then immediately realized something was wrong. The space around them changed in an instant.
They were now inside the Kamui dimension.
Black Zetsu had been here before.
Obito had brought him into Kamui.
But wait—how had Obito brought him here so quickly, faster than he could even react? Even with both Mangekyō Kamui, it shouldn't have been that fast.
"No—this isn't Kamui—it's Flying Thunder God!"
A chill ran down Black Zetsu's spine as he realized that only the Flying Thunder God Technique could enable such instantaneous spatial transfer, even before his sensory perception could register it.
Obito knew the Flying Thunder God.
No matter why Obito had hidden such a trump card, Black Zetsu realized this could only mean one thing—Obito was about to kill him.
But it was already too late.
Before he could move, a black sphere began to swell before his eyes.
He didn't know what it was, but the sense of impending doom radiating from it was overwhelming. He had to dodge—immediately.
But… no!
Black Zetsu tried to sink into the ground, only to realize the stone columns in the Kamui dimension had been manipulated by Obito—he couldn't escape underground.
A wave of despair consumed him.
It was over!
Trapped inside Obito's bound Kamui dimension, Black Zetsu had nowhere to run. His powers were only effective in the real world. Here, he was helpless—he could only watch as the black sphere exploded.
Boom!
The black orb expanded violently, engulfing the surrounding hundred meters of space—then suddenly contracted toward the center.
"No—!"
Snap!
Black Zetsu's agonized scream was instantly swallowed by the imploding vortex. The black hole's compression force generated a sharp sonic boom, and then—everything fell silent.
Only a stone pillar remained—now missing a chunk—where Black Zetsu had stood. He was utterly gone, even his soul reduced to its most basic form of energy, scattered throughout the world.
"The biggest mastermind behind the Naruto world has died just like that."
"As expected—power is everything."
Hearing Black Zetsu's final scream, Li Yao's Obito clone shook his head slightly, a touch of reflection in his voice.
Black Zetsu had lived for over a thousand years. With all that time, he had never worked to grow stronger—instead, he obsessed over manipulating the reincarnations of Indra and Asura, weaving endless conspiracies.
If he had spent even half that time improving his strength, he could have easily crushed the ninja world himself, seized Madara's Rinnegan, collected all nine tailed beasts, and resurrected Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Then he wouldn't have ended up like this—completely powerless before Li Yao's Obito clone.
Granted, Li Yao's Obito clone was absurdly strong. Perhaps it was only natural that Black Zetsu stood no chance.
Regardless, the era of Black Zetsu—the ultimate puppet master—had ended.
Now, nothing stood in Obito's way.
"Oh… right, there's still one more."
Li Yao's Obito clone suddenly remembered a humanoid chakra signature he had sensed earlier—one with a tail. Smiling faintly, he used the Flying Thunder God Technique to exit the Kamui space and reappear on the grass just outside the base.
"Come out, kid," the Obito clone called, eyes directed toward the forest ahead.
Clap, clap, clap…
Kabuto Yakushi emerged from the trees, applauding. He stopped about twenty meters away, his snake-like mouth grinning. "Who would've thought—the true leader of Akatsuki was a member of the Uchiha clan, and even knows the Flying Thunder God Technique. Fascinating."
Kabuto licked his lips with his long, coiling tongue. At first, he had only been interested in the identity of Akatsuki's shadowy leader. Now he was very interested in his body as well.
Mangekyō Sharingan of the Uchiha clan aside, the fact that he had mastered the Fourth Hokage's signature jutsu, the Flying Thunder God, was shocking.
How had this man learned it?
Was there some secret behind it?
Kabuto was intrigued.
"Kabuto… aren't you afraid I'll kill you?"
Seeing the hungry look in Kabuto's eyes, Obito's clone smiled. With a thought, he vanished—reappearing right beside Kabuto.
Hearing the voice in his ear, Kabuto froze. His gaze remained fixed on Obito's previous location—now empty.
Whoosh!
Reacting instinctively, Kabuto leapt backward to create distance.
Obito's clone didn't follow. He simply stood there, watching the now-sweating Kabuto ten meters away, smiling. "Kid, don't think too highly of yourself. In my eyes, you're just an ant. If I want you dead, you die."
With Li Yao's Obito clone's strength, even Kabuto with Sage Mode would be no match. Sage Mode was useless against space-time ninjutsu.
"You… impossible…"
Kabuto's face was filled with disbelief. Obito had appeared beside him so fast that even he hadn't noticed. Only the Flying Thunder God Technique could achieve that.
But… Kabuto looked around again.
He was sure—there was no Flying Thunder God kunai nearby.
Had a Flying Thunder God seal been placed on him?
That couldn't be—he had never even met this guy before. How could Obito have marked him?
Kabuto couldn't understand how Obito's clone had used the Flying Thunder God Technique to appear beside him.
Meanwhile, Obito's clone smiled.
After extensive training at the Dragon Vein in Loran, and with both Kamui chakra and fragments of spatial chakra absorbed from the Dragon Vein, Li Yao's Flying Thunder God Technique had long since surpassed its traditional limitations.
Now, he could perceive countless spatial nodes in real space. By choosing one as a coordinate, he could teleport directly to it.
As long as it was within his spatial sensing range, Li Yao could teleport without needing Flying Thunder God markers.
Just now, Obito's clone had teleported directly to the spatial node Kabuto occupied.
"All right, kid. Time to show your cards—otherwise, don't blame me when you die and no one sheds a tear."
