Chapter 334: The Terrifying Kotoamatsukami
As long as Li Yao let Naruto return to his own world and then used Flying Thunder God to follow him, he could gather both Mangekyō Sharingan with Kamui and both with Kotoamatsukami in a very short time.
At that point, if he also possessed several Uchiha bodies for backup… just the thought of it was thrilling.
And it wasn't just about Mangekyō Sharingan—he was aiming for Sage-level chakra.
A gleam flashed in Li Yao's eyes. If his memory served correctly, the Fourth Great Ninja War in Naruto's world was about to begin—within the year at most.
During the war, he could have a clone take over Obito's body, become the Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails, and experience the Sage-level chakra and Kekkei Mōra firsthand.
Even if he couldn't copy it outright, that experience would greatly accelerate his development of his own Sage-level Kekkei Mōra chakra.
"Hahaha!"
"Perfect—this couldn't be going better!"
Laughing heartily, Li Yao grew increasingly excited. Without hesitation, he reattached the sealing talisman to the gate inside Naruto's mind and exited the seal space.
Compared to Kotoamatsukami and his upcoming plans, "beating the Nine-Tails" was hardly worth the effort.
Back in the real world, Li Yao injected chakra into Naruto and began carefully sensing the chakra within him.
Logically, the powerful chakra from Kotoamatsukami should've been impossible to miss with his sensing abilities.
But had Minato not appeared and reminded him about the crow with Shisui's eye inside Naruto, he wouldn't have remembered—and hadn't sensed any high-level ocular chakra either.
The crow was Itachi's summoning animal. Hidden inside Naruto's body, it might have used a technique similar to Orochimaru's internal hiding methods.
Li Yao guessed that Itachi had stored the crow in a special chakra pocket within Naruto's body that blocked chakra sensing. That would explain how it evaded detection.
He extended black iron chains, as thin as silk, to probe Naruto's chakra network pathways.
"Heh… got it."
Li Yao smiled. Itachi had done a good job—the crow was hidden deep within a chakra node in Naruto's lower abdomen and was wrapped in a layer of Naruto's own chakra, which had masked it.
Only after penetrating the chakra node with a black iron chain could he sense the crow's presence.
The black crow floated silently, eyes closed, nestled in the chakra node like a fetus in a womb. It also bore a special sealing formation within.
After a brief inspection, Li Yao understood the purpose of the seal.
If someone forcibly extracted the crow from Naruto, the seal would activate, causing a chakra surge that would destroy Shisui's eye on the spot—completely obliterating the Kotoamatsukami Mangekyō Sharingan.
As shown in the original series, the only way to retrieve the eye intact was to trigger the crow to exit Naruto's body of its own will.
That way, the seal wouldn't activate—at least not immediately—and Li Yao could then interact with the crow's seal in the open.
To make the crow come out on its own, it was simple: Li Yao just had to perfectly transform into Fugaku Uchiha, activate Mangekyō Sharingan, and confront Naruto.
Itachi had programmed the crow to emerge when Naruto encountered someone with Mangekyō Sharingan, using Kotoamatsukami to alter their will and make them protect Konoha.
In Itachi's world, the greatest future threat to Konoha would come from someone with Mangekyō Sharingan.
It didn't have to be Sasuke. It could just as easily be Obito, who posed as Uchiha Madara—and also had the Mangekyō.
So all Li Yao had to do was perfectly transform into Fugaku with Mangekyō Sharingan and the crow would come out.
But… this was Kotoamatsukami—renowned as the most powerful genjutsu.
Thinking of the Uchiha's absurd ability to rewrite reality—
Even though Li Yao was confident in his anti-genjutsu chakra suppression, he didn't dare take any chances against a technique that targeted the will itself.
Just in case, he decided to let a shadow clone handle it.
Poof!
Li Yao released Naruto and created a shadow clone, while he himself retreated behind Naruto and closed his eyes to avoid getting caught by Kotoamatsukami.
Poof!
The clone perfectly transformed into Fugaku Uchiha.
This way, even if the shadow clone was caught by the genjutsu, Li Yao could simply cancel the jutsu and dissipate the clone—avoiding any danger from a rogue clone.
The clone grabbed Naruto by the neck and hoisted him up.
With a slight squeeze, Naruto began to choke and soon woke from unconsciousness in pain.
"Gah… l-let… go of me!"
"You… you're… Uchiha…"
Naruto clutched at the clone's wrist and kicked frantically, staring in confusion at the scarlet three-tomoe Sharingan.
Why was a grown Uchiha suddenly here? Why was he choking him?
Weren't the Uchiha supposed to be extinct?
Just as Naruto was puzzling it over, the clone's eyes morphed from three tomoe into Mangekyō Sharingan.
The moment they made eye contact, the crow inside Naruto was triggered. It darted out of the chakra node, moved up to his stomach, and began crawling toward the surface.
"Ugh…" Naruto groaned in discomfort. He was being choked, and now something was crawling out of his gut. His entire face twisted with pain.
Soon, the crow reached his throat. The clone released him, and Naruto collapsed, gasping for air, his mouth hanging wide open.
Pop!
The crow's head poked out from Naruto's mouth.
The moment it emerged, it tilted its head and Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan locked eyes with the shadow clone.
In that instant, an immensely refined and formless genjutsu chakra surged into the clone's mind—it was like a teleportation with Flying Thunder God: instantaneous and impossible to guard against.
"Crap!"
Li Yao's expression shifted, and to protect his own consciousness from being affected, he immediately severed his mental link with the clone.
In that moment of sensing, he confirmed it: this was indeed the chakra of Kotoamatsukami, the most powerful genjutsu.
Unlike other illusions that infiltrated a person's chakra to create hallucinations—
Kotoamatsukami's chakra released a formless wave that bypassed the clone's chakra defenses and directly acted on the portion of Li Yao's chakra used to control the clone's consciousness.
Almost instantly, the clone's thinking and logic were rewritten.
Now, the clone's entire sense of purpose shifted to "protect Konoha above all else," and any threat to the village was deemed intolerable.
"Release!"
Sensing the clone was no longer under his control, Li Yao immediately tried to dispel the shadow clone and block the chakra from returning to him—to avoid contamination.
But… the shadow clone didn't vanish.
