Chapter 236 - Chapter 236: The Ice Sky Snow Maiden

Chapter 236: The Ice Sky Snow Maiden

Di Tian was delighted to obtain the second auction item, the Spirit Land Contract Scroll. He quickly stored it away and focused his attention on the next items, hoping to acquire more treasures that could benefit the Soul Beast race.

The other human powers also set aside thoughts of the previous items, preparing for what was to come.

Jiang Li noticed the eager curiosity in both the eyes of soul masters and soul beasts below. A mysterious smile crossed his face.

The earlier auction items were mere appetizers. The ones that followed would be treasures capable of shocking the entire world.

"All right, everyone," Jiang Li said, "the first two auction items have found their owners. Next, we will proceed with the third item."

As soon as he finished speaking, he waved his right hand gently. White light flashed across the stage, and in an instant, a massive egg appeared before the audience.

Icy energy spread outward from it in waves. Even those seated in the front rows could clearly feel the bone-chilling cold emanating from it.

"Could it be another pet egg like the ones from the previous auction?"

"Sigh, looks like this has nothing to do with us humans again."

The soul masters sighed when they saw what the third auction item was—especially the human factions.

At a past auction, a similar egg had appeared, identified as a pet egg, and the Soul Beasts had ultimately claimed it.

Judging from the aura of this one, it was most likely the egg of an ice-attribute soul beast.

The human soul masters quickly lost interest, hoping the bidding would end soon so they could compete for the later, more relevant items.

"What a powerful cold energy…"

The Snow Empress gazed at the enormous white egg before her, momentarily dazed.

Though she couldn't tell what kind of creature rested inside or whether it was a soul beast or some other being, the icy aura it emitted struck her deeply.

Even from its sealed form, the released cold power had already reached the level of ultimate ice.

If whatever slept within were to hatch, its strength would likely embody the true extremity of the ice element.

The Snow Empress's curiosity grew—just what kind of being resided within that egg?

"As you may have guessed," Jiang Li began, "this third auction item is indeed a pet egg, similar to those sold before."

"However, rather than calling it a pet egg, it would be more accurate to say it is a genuine soul beast egg, for the life within it belongs to the Soul Beast race, not any other creature."

This soul beast egg had been formed by the power of heaven and earth itself.

Jiang Li knew exactly what kind of soul beast rested within, and he was certain that once he revealed its identity, at least one person in the audience would lose all composure—and would stop at nothing to claim it.

"Just like the previous ones," he continued, "soul beasts can purchase and nurture it. Human soul masters can also buy it and form a spiritual contract with it. The soul beast that hatches will grow alongside you, similar to the concept of soul spirits previously introduced by the Starry Auction Pavilion."

"However, soul masters who form a contract with such a beast will not receive soul rings from it. Instead, the creature will exist as a true, living companion. Rest assured—once bound by a contract, this soul beast will never betray its master."

Understanding the concerns in the audience, Jiang Li spoke patiently to ease their doubts.

Sure enough, many soul masters perked up upon hearing this.

If such a powerful egg carried with it a high-level bloodline, raising it could one day yield a formidable ally.

"Di Tian, the creature inside this egg might possess an ultimate elemental attribute. Should we bid for it?"

Bi Ji could clearly sense the terrifying icy energy radiating from the egg.

However, the shell was enveloped in an invisible power of heaven and earth, making it impossible to probe its interior even with her divine sense.

Any beast protected by such a force undoubtedly possessed an extraordinary bloodline.

As the Soul Beasts were currently entering a phase of growth, bringing such a creature back to the Star Dou Great Forest would allow for the best possible nurturing.

"That won't be necessary," Di Tian replied calmly. "The one from the Extreme North will not sit idly by."

"As far as I know, there are very few beast species in the Extreme North with the ultimate ice attribute. I trust she will take action."

He reassured Bi Ji, making no move to compete with the Snow Empress.

When it came to ice-attribute soul beasts, no one could match her in cultivation technique or affinity.

The Extreme North was the perfect environment for such creatures to grow, so the egg, he decided, rightfully belonged in her hands.

"You're right. In the Snow Empress's care, this creature's potential will be fulfilled to the fullest," Bi Ji agreed softly, nodding in approval.

Indeed, the best home for this soul beast was the Extreme North.

"You must know," Jiang Li continued, "that certain species of soul beasts on the Douluo Continent are exceedingly rare. The creature within this egg belongs to one of those races—the Ice Sky Snow Maiden, a soul beast from the Extreme North possessing the element of ultimate ice."

"You should also know that currently, the only existing Ice Sky Snow Maiden on the continent is the Snow Empress, one of the three kings of the Extreme North."

"And now, sealed within this egg, is the second Ice Sky Snow Maiden ever to exist on Douluo Continent."

Jiang Li no longer held back, revealing the egg's origin outright.

"What? An Ice Sky Snow Maiden?"

"Impossible! Wasn't that species born from the purest power of heaven and earth itself? How can a second one appear?"

A wave of astonishment swept through the hall.

Most of those present had heard the legends of the Ice Sky Snow Maiden and knew well the terrifying might of ultimate ice.

No one doubted the power of the Snow Empress, who had become one of the most fearsome beasts alive—reaching seventy thousand years of cultivation and ranking third among all soul beasts.

The Ice Sky Snow Maidens embodied the essence of ultimate ice itself. If nurtured properly, this new being could easily grow into a hundred-thousand-year soul beast or even beyond.

To form a contract with such a creature—the sheer advantage was unimaginable.

Across the human factions—the Shrek Academy, the Holy Spirit Cult, the Body Sect—breathing quickened.

Moments ago, most had dismissed the egg without interest. Now, upon hearing that it housed an Ice Sky Snow Maiden, not a single person in the hall could remain calm.

Whispers filled the air as the strongest among them began to strategize.

Whatever the cost, they could not allow this egg—this Ice Sky Snow Maiden—to slip from their grasp.
