Chronology of the Naruto Universe
This Chronology reconstructs all the events that have taken place in the Naruto universe, from the dawn of humanity to the present day in Boruto. It will help you better understand the context of the various stories in this collection and will be updated as they progress.

Era of the Sages
(~0 - 400)
0: Creation of Ninshu by the Hermit Rikudo
~10: Formation of the first groups of nomadic tribes.
~50: Founding of the first settled cities.

Era of the First Battles
(~400–750)
~400: Development of Ninjutsu by humans
~450: Tribes are reorganized into clans. The first clan wars break out.
~700: Development of new martial arts practiced by ninjas and samurai.

The Era of the Ninjas
(~750–1000)
~750: The first nations emerge.
~800: The first alliances between clans are formed.
~900: Humans have nearly completely colonized the globe.
~960: The Hidden Village of Konoha, led by Hashirama Senju, is founded. This marked the first alliance between clans and the first affiliation of ninjas with a major nation (the Land of Fire).
~965: Successive formations of new alliances between ninja clans and major nations. First, Kumo under Raikage A; then Iwa under Tsuchikage Ishikawa; Kiri under Mizukage Byakuren; and finally Suna under Kazekage Reto.
~975: It is generally believed that this marked the peak in the emergence of minor villages and nations.
977: Tobirama Senju unofficially assumes the position of Hokage.
983: Fall of the Senju clan of Konoha. Official appointment of Tobirama Senju as the Second Hokage.

991: Hiruzen Sarutobi is appointed Third Hokage.

1025: Start of the Ame massacres orchestrated by Konoha, Iwa, and Suna.
1028: Genocide of the village of Uzushio and end of the Second Great Ninja War.
1038: Emergence of Akatsuki in Ame and the start of the Third Great Ninja War.
1041: Start of the Ame Civil War, end of the Third Great Ninja War, and appointment of Minato Namikaze as the Fourth Hokage.
1042: Invasion of Konoha by Kyubi. Reinstatement of the Third Hokage.
1044: Akatsuki takes control of Kiri and establishes a vast network, recruiting numerous S-rank ninjas.
1049: Massacre of the Uchiha Clan.

1065: Darui is appointed as the Fifth Raikage and Chojuro as the Sixth Mizukage.
1067: Technological revolution.
1069: Naruto Uzumaki is appointed Seventh Hokage.

1072: Second alien invasion by Momoshiki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki, followed by the third invasion by Isshiki Otsutsuki. Rewriting of reality via the Omnipotence Shinjutsu. Provisional appointment of Shikamaru Nara as the Eighth Hokage.

1075: Fourth alien invasion by the Shinju creatures.
