Bulat's will was firm.
He wasn't going to let Emiya take his Teigu.
Just as he was about to shout the armor's name, Emiya made a simple gesture.
Bulat's wrist went numb.
The Teigu in his hand flew out on its own and landed neatly in Emiya's palm.
"...Incursio!"
Bulat finished the last two words in a daze.
But the Teigu didn't respond.
Because it was no longer in his hand.
It was in Emiya's.
Bulat stared in disbelief.
Emiya, on the other hand, felt nothing at all.
A Teigu user's strength came from the Teigu they wielded.
Once it was gone, their combat power plummeted.
And no matter how powerful a Teigu was, it was still an external object.
Especially armor-type Teigus.
When not worn, they were no different from ordinary weapons.
Taking Incursio from Bulat was trivial for Emiya.
Telekinesis was extremely convenient for this sort of thing.
Swoosh!
A figure burst out from behind Bulat.
She moved at terrifying speed, black hair whipping behind her.
Crimson eyes locked onto Emiya's wrist.
A katana flashed.
Akame aimed straight for the hand holding the Teigu.
Clang!
Emiya didn't dodge.
He allowed the blade to strike his wrist directly.
Akame's Teigu was the One-Slice Killer: Murasame.
A cursed blade.
Any wound, even a scratch, would trigger a fatal curse.
There was no cure.
Instant death.
That was its reputation.
But Emiya's body was already far beyond normal standards.
In the instant the blade touched him, magical energy reinforced the skin of his wrist.
Murasame failed to cut through.
Sparks flew as steel scraped flesh.
Akame's pupils shrank sharply.
She didn't dare continue.
She retreated immediately, returning to Bulat's side.
Bulat watched the exchange, cold sweat pouring down his back.
"Hey, hey, hey... this is insane," Lubbock muttered from inside the house.
"That's a Teigu. An instant-kill Teigu."
Leone clicked her tongue and stepped out.
She positioned herself beside Akame and Bulat.
At times like this, she wouldn't abandon her comrades.
Lubbock and Sheele followed, emerging as well.
Emiya smiled gently.
"Relax. We're only here for Incursio."
Nothing more.
Boom!
Perhaps because Emiya had spoken its name, Incursio reacted violently.
The short sword unfolded instantly.
Armor spread across Emiya's body in a blink.
Hard plates locked into place, covering every vital point.
Emiya felt no discomfort at all.
Breathing was smooth.
Movement was natural.
He flexed his limbs, then casually patted his chest.
Thud.
The impact cracked the chest armor.
Fragments scattered.
Bulat and the others froze.
No one understood what Emiya was doing.
Medea asked calmly, "How is it?"
"It's decent," Emiya replied.
"The defense is good. It won't block a Noble Phantasm, but it can withstand magical energy."
"If I reinforce it with mana, it should even endure some Noble Phantasms."
Heroic Spirit Noble Phantasms were categorized by scale.
Anti-unit. Anti-army. Anti-city. Anti-nation. Even anti-god.
With reinforcement, Incursio should be able to endure at least an anti-army Noble Phantasm.
Emiya deactivated the Teigu.
The armor collapsed back into a short sword.
He handed it to Medea.
"Take it back and study it."
"No problem," Medea replied.
Then Emiya turned to Bulat.
"Don't worry. I'll return it after the research."
"As for the research fee..."
He raised his hand.
Ten tons of gold appeared out of thin air.
Bulat's pupils shrank violently.
"...Who are you people?"
Emiya pointed toward Leone.
"She knows, doesn't she?"
Everyone turned to look at her.
Leone swallowed hard.
"I don't know him," she said quickly.
"But I do know one of the women."
"No-"
"A goddess."
She had seen Hephaestus standing beside Emiya the moment she stepped out.
The shock hadn't faded.
"A goddess...?" Bulat's breathing faltered.
"Could it be that one...?"
"That's right," Leone nodded bitterly.
Who would have thought Night Raid was important enough to attract a goddess?
Emiya looked at Leone with a faint smile.
"You don't know me?"
"You tried to kill me not long ago, and now you're saying that?"
"That's cold, Miss Leone."
Leone nearly jumped.
"Don't slander me! Who tried to kill you?!"
Whatever his relationship with the goddess was, she wasn't taking that blame.
Emiya clapped his hands.
"Oh, right. You didn't see me like this back then."
He shifted.
In an instant, he became a young boy.
"This form."
"Do you recognize me now?"
Leone's eyes nearly popped out.
"Y-you... you're the young emperor!"
Night Raid instantly tensed, treating him like a deadly enemy.
"To be precise," Emiya said, changing back,
"I was impersonating him."
Realization dawned on Leone.
"No wonder the Empire's been acting strange."
"So you're the ones who took over the Empire."
"Then what about the real emperor?"
"He wasn't fit to rule," Emiya replied calmly.
"So I sent him away."
"Sent him away?" Lubbock scoffed.
"That's just a nice way of saying you killed him, right?"
Emiya snorted, not bothering to respond to the future one-ball warrior.
"By the way," he continued,
"I admire Night Raid."
"How about joining us and changing the Empire from the inside?"
Over the past few days, Bulat had already noticed the changes.
This wasn't empty talk.
The other side was serious about reforming the Empire.
So he didn't refuse immediately.
"I need time to think."
"That's fine," Emiya said.
He didn't force it.
He was short on manpower.
If Night Raid joined, it would be ideal.
If not, he wouldn't compel them.
But opposing him meant opposing tens of millions of civilians.
And that was something Emiya wouldn't tolerate.
After that, Emiya left Night Raid's base and returned to the palace.
Medea, Shouko, and Hephaestus took Incursio away for research.
They were already working toward creating the automatic dragon puppet Emiya wanted.
He believed it would be extremely powerful.
Not long after, another Teigu arrived.
Heracles delivered it personally.
The All-Seeing Eye.
Its former owner was Zanku the Executioner.
Once an imperial executioner, twisted by years of killing.
In the original story, Night Raid had eliminated him.
The Eye eventually fell to the Revolutionary Army.
But things were different now.
The Imperial Guard had been purged.
Heracles, now captain, knew the plot.
The moment Zanku committed murder, he was caught.
Zanku tried to fight back.
But that raised a question.
Was he even qualified?
Zanku was stronger than Ogre.
He was a Teigu user.
And the All-Seeing Eye was no ordinary Teigu.
It possessed five abilities.
Foresight.
Far Sight.
X-Ray Vision.
Future Sight.
Illusion.
Foresight read minds through expressions.
Far Sight extended vision over great distances.
X-Ray Vision saw through obstacles.
Future Sight predicted actions by observing muscle movement.
Illusion created false perceptions.
In the original story, even Akame had nearly lost to it.
But Heracles wasn't Akame.
He didn't even need full strength.
The fight lasted ten seconds.
Eight seconds of trash talk.
One second of preparation.
The actual combat ended in one second.
Zanku died instantly.
Heracles delivered the All-Seeing Eye to Emiya.
Emiya examined it briefly.
Then handed it to Hephaestus.
If its Future Sight truly showed the future, he might have cared more.
But it was nothing special.
At best, it was comparable to Observation Haki.
And in truth, inferior.
High-level Observation Haki could truly glimpse the future.
Even if only for a few seconds.
In battle-
Those seconds were everything.
