Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 – Soul Resonance

The Titan-Beast's massive claw descended, blotting out the sky like the shadow of a mountain. The air trembled, the ground splitting beneath the sheer weight of the strike.

But before it could crush them, a blinding light burst forth.

The System's voice rang in Rihan's mind—sharp, urgent, alive.

[DING!]

Soul Resonance Initiated.

All party members linked.

Warning: Lifeforce drain active.

Rihan's body arched as a surge of unbearable energy coursed through him. His veins glowed with silver-blue light, pulsing like rivers of lightning beneath his skin.

Across the battlefield, Kael felt it too—his blade vibrating with raw power. Mira's claws gleamed as if forged from moonlight. Elira gasped, tears streaking down her cheeks as the staff in her hand burned with divine brilliance.

Their souls had merged, not just strength but emotions—pain, fear, determination, trust. For a fleeting moment, they were no longer four individuals, but a single will.

The Titan's claw slammed down.

Rihan raised his hand. The world slowed. The ground shuddered violently, but the hand stopped— inches above him. His arm trembled, bones creaking, but with the shared force of all four, he held it back.

"Impossible…" Mira whispered, staring in awe.

Kael grinned savagely, eyes blazing. "Not impossible. Just insane."

The Titan roared in fury, pulling back to strike again, but Rihan had already moved. His body blurred with unnatural speed, propelled by every ounce of lifeforce his allies had entrusted to him.

The glowing Core in the Titan's chest pulsed wildly, as if sensing its doom.

"Together!" Rihan shouted.

Kael leapt, blade raised high. Mira dashed at blinding speed, claws aimed for the Core's cracks. Elira's voice rang out in prayer, channeling every shred of her mana into Rihan's soul.

Their combined will funneled into him.

The System roared with them.

[DING!]

Soul Resonance Strike – Execution Mode.

Rihan thrust his hand forward, silver-blue energy coiling into a spiraling lance of light.

"END IT!" he screamed.

The beam pierced the Titan's Core. For a heartbeat, silence fell—then the furnace exploded outward in a blinding eruption.

The mountains shook as shockwaves tore through the valley. Black corruption disintegrated into dust, howling as it was erased. The Titan let out one final, deafening roar before collapsing, its massive body shattering into stone fragments that tumbled down the cliffs.

And then… silence.

The battlefield lay in ruins. The once-gargantuan monster was nothing more than rubble, its corruption burned away. The moonlight finally broke through the haze, bathing the group in silver light.

Rihan collapsed to his knees, gasping for air. His vision swam, his limbs numb. Every heartbeat felt like fire.

[DING!]

Boss Defeated: Corrupted Titan-Beast.

Reward: 12,000 XP (shared).

Unique Skill Unlocked: Resonance Core.

Side Effect: Lifeforce Instability detected.

His chest tightened painfully. The System's voice echoed faintly, warning of permanent damage if he continued reckless resonance.

Mira staggered over, clutching her side, but her eyes gleamed with admiration. "You… insane fool. That was… incredible."

Kael threw his head back and laughed, even as blood dripped down his chin. "Hah! I thought I'd seen everything. Rihan, you mad bastard, you just toppled a mountain with your bare hands!"

Elira dropped to her knees beside Rihan, tears shimmering. She pressed glowing palms against him, forcing her healing magic into his failing body. "You can't… you can't do that again. You'll die, Rihan."

He managed a weak smile. "We're… alive, aren't we?"

The four of them sat there, breathless, staring at the shattered corpse of the Titan. For a moment, none of them spoke. The victory felt unreal, like a dream balanced on the edge of nightmare.

But then Mira's ears twitched. She turned sharply toward the darkened ridge above them.

"...We're being watched."

Kael's laughter stopped instantly. His hand went to his sword. Elira stiffened, scanning the shadows.

Rihan forced himself to stand, every muscle screaming. "Who's there?"

A slow clap echoed from the ridge.

A figure emerged, cloaked in obsidian robes, their face hidden beneath a hood. Black mist swirled faintly around them, like the remnants of the Titan's corruption.

"Well done," the figure said, voice smooth and cold. "Truly, the system's chosen one is impressive."

Rihan froze. His pulse quickened. He knows about the System?

Kael snarled, blade half-drawn. "Friend of yours?"

"No," Rihan said hoarsely, eyes narrowing. "Not even close."

The figure tilted their head slightly, as though studying him. "You've barely awakened, yet you already touch the edges of Resonance. Fascinating… dangerous. I look forward to seeing how long you can survive before the corruption consumes you too."

And just like that, the figure dissolved into mist, vanishing into the night.

The group stood in tense silence, the victory over the Titan suddenly tasting hollow.

Rihan clenched his fist, feeling the unstable burn of resonance still flickering inside him. The fight had been won—but a darker truth had been revealed.

Someone out there knew about the System.

And they were watching.
