The scent of polished wood and fresh fabric filled the boutique as sunlight streamed through bolts of colorful cloth hanging from the ceiling. Rika Hoshino beamed at them from behind the counter, hands resting confidently on the edge.
"Hi, Rika," Raven said, stepping forward casually. "I'm Raven Kamazaki—this is Naruto Uzumaki and Ino Yamanaka."
"Nice to meet you all! What can I help you find today?" Rika asked brightly.
"We're looking for some new clothes for my friend Naruto—and a new hair scrunchie for Ino."
Ino flipped her hair with pride, letting it shimmer over her shoulder. "Exactly. My long, beautiful blonde hair deserves a new scrunchie."
Rika chuckled as she motioned them forward. "I see. Follow me."
They moved deeper into the shop, weaving between rows of mannequins and racks filled with everything from standard ninja tunics to soft civilian loungewear. Yumi padded softly behind them, tails brushing the polished floor like ribbons of white silk.
Raven glanced sideways at Naruto, her expression suddenly more serious. "I can help you deal with your chakra control problems, but describe to me what happens when you try channeling chakra."
Naruto frowned, scratching his head thoughtfully. "I try to channel chakra through my body, but every time I do, it feels like something inside me throws it off. It's like some weird interference messing up my flow. I can't even focus long enough to refine or store it properly."
Raven nodded slowly. "So you're saying something inside you disrupts your chakra flow—and even blocks you from drawing in and refining chakra from the surrounding air to build your reserves?"
"Exactly!" Naruto said. "They taught us a basic refining technique at the orphanage, but I can't get through one session without it going haywire. It's like everything I gained just… bursts out again."
"Got it," Raven said, folding her arms as they passed a set of training gi folded neatly on a display. "That gives me a pretty good idea of what's going on."
Yumi muttered under her breath, "It has to be that one guy."
Raven glanced down at her. "I know exactly who you mean."
Naruto blinked. "What do you mean, 'that one guy'?"
Raven placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry about it for now. I'll help you deal with it when the time comes."
As they rounded a corner, Ino let out a soft gasp and darted toward a mirror-side display of hair accessories. She let her hair fall loose, then gathered it up and tied it with a silky blue scrunchie.
"Hey, Raven, Naruto—what do you think of this blue one?"
Raven tilted her head. "It looks great—it matches your eyes perfectly."
"Yeah, I actually like that color on you, Ino," Naruto added with a grin.
Ino gave a pleased nod. "Excellent. I'll take this blue one, please."
Raven gave her a sideways glance. "Wait, when did I agree to pay for your stuff?"
Ino narrowed her eyes playfully. "You said you'd take us clothing shopping—that means you're paying."
"I already paid for your ramen too," Raven said, laughing softly.
"Well—I just assumed you would!" Ino sputtered, her cheeks turning pink.
"Fine, I'll pay for my scrunchie and Naruto's clothes too." Raven said to Ino and Naruto holding her hands up defenselessly.
Naruto threw his fists into the air. "Woohoo! Free clothes! You're the best, Raven!"
Raven raised an eyebrow. "I thought you said you didn't need free clothes, Naruto Uzumaki—that you just liked orange clothing because it's your favorite color, not because you can't afford anything else."
"I never said that!" Naruto yelped defensively.
Raven and Ino both burst into laughter as Ino turned back toward Rika, holding out the scrunchies.
"I'll take this blue one and also a white one, please."
"Excellent," Rika said, nodding. "I'll set them aside while you finish shopping."
Raven turned toward the boy still eyeing the displays with a mixture of awe and confusion. "Alright, Naruto, what do you want to get?"
Naruto brightened. "Do you have any orange tracksuits?"
Raven and Ino groaned at the same time and facepalmed in perfect unison. "Naruto Uzumaki!"
"What?!" Naruto cried, completely bewildered.
"You're not getting another orange tracksuit, okay?" Raven said firmly. "We're getting you something nice—like a T-shirt and jeans or shorts."
Naruto grumbled, "Fine. But they won't be as durable as a tracksuit."
Raven sighed and muttered to Yumi, "I don't know what to do with this kid."
Yumi laughed. "What are you talking about Raven? You're a kid yourself."
"That's besides the point."
