Kitse woke up lazily as the gentle sunlight illuminated the room.
Yawning deeply, he stretched his body and let out a satisfied groan.
"Another day in paradise."
He made his way to the kitchen and grabbed the kettle on the counter. Setting the electric kettle on, he made his way to the bathroom for his morning business.
Brushing his teeth, he stared in the mirror for a long time.
The man looking back had a gorgeous head of silver hair. His face was lean and his dark black eyes combined with his silver hair gave a noble look that was hard to conceal.
His lips curved upward as he finished brushing and went back to the kitchen to prepare his morning cup of coffee.
Freshly ground coffee beans had their charm but for Kitse, instant coffee had always dragged him back. Perhaps it was the memory of a life he could never forget, or perhaps it was the hardships and growth of his own character or perhaps it was simple longing of that place, his first cup of 'bitter dirt' never failed to bring a smile in his face.
He made his way downstairs into the guild hall with the coffee in his hand.
As always, the majestic hall was empty.
The hall was not that large but it held a specific charm that never failed to amaze Kitse. It was made entirely of wood and crude rocks but the design and structure remained close to the ones used by early Scandinavians. The hall had a long pit at the center filled with coals and cinders. The warmth of the reddish-black coals kept the hall warm and cozy. There were eight sets of tables and chairs lined symmetrically around the cinders.
In front of the hall was a large counter with a large amount of paper clipped at the walls. Kitse made his way to the counter and sat down letting the sunlight hit his face from the window to the right.
It had been two weeks since he was deployed into this world from the Nexus.
Strictly speaking, it was his second deployment. His first deployment....even thinking about it gave him chills.
"Young man!! You dare...."
"Cripple yourself! I will leave your corpse intact!!"
"You dare call yourself guild master with this young master in front of you? Insolence!! Kowtow nine times and roll out of here!! Otherwise I, Peng Xiaolong, shall slaughter nine generations of your family!!"
Those words still rang on his ears like annoying mosquitoes.
"Seriously, I wanted to conduct a mass IQ test before I left that place."
