Chapter 19 - Hidden Quest

'What the hell have I raised...?'

Raiven's heart was thumping loudly, almost like it would rip out of his chest any second.

But it wasn't because of the dead bodies on the ground.

Rather, it was because of the look in Tongue's eyes.

It was as if the Tiger was staring directly into his soul.

Without wasting any time, he unsummoned Tongue and the other two Tigers.

At this point, many thoughts were running through his head.

He clearly remembered ordering Tongue not to kill them, and yet, the Tiger had disobeyed him.

"What do I do...?"

Raiven's eyes moved to the bodies, but before he could move, the system screen appeared in front of him.

[Hidden Quest complete]

[Kill a human for the first time]

[Congratulations, you have received your rewards]

Raiven stood upright, his brows raised.

"So killing a human was a hidden quest?"

He didn't know what to think about that.

But for now, he decided to see what the rewards were.

[Reward 1: The number of undeads you can raise has been increased by 2]

[Reward 2: You have gained a new skill: Echo]

Raiven's eyes scanned the system screen.

"So I can now raise up to five undead," he whispered to himself.

His eyes moved back to the three dead bodies on the ground.

If he was being honest with himself, he wasn't feeling the slightest bit of sympathy for them.

They were horrible people.

Still, the fact that he had just killed three humans felt strange.

"So what do I do with these bodies?"

He already had an idea of what to do.

"I'll check out the new skill later. For now, I have to get rid of these bodies," Raiven muttered to himself.

He walked towards the black-haired boy who had fought with Tongue.

He stretched his right hand towards the boy.

"Get up."

As soon as those words left his mouth, the boy's eyes snapped open.

The wound on his knees was already healing, and he slowly stood up at the same time.

Raiven quickly unsummoned him and walked towards the boy who could transform his fingernails into claws.

"Get up."

Just like the black-haired boy, he stood up.

His injuries were fully healed, and Raiven unsummoned him as well.

[Number of Undeads: 5/5]

Raiven looked at the last body on the ground.

At this point, there was only one thing he could do.

He touched the body, and it instantly disappeared, entering his inventory.

He was the one who killed the boy, so the system recognized the body as something that could enter his inventory.

'I'll get rid of the body later,' Raiven thought.

Without wasting any more time, he instantly left the area.

Within seconds, he was already on the path to the building where the classrooms were located.

The first class of the day would be Soul Arts, so he went directly to the classroom.

A few minutes later, he arrived.

Some students were already inside.

Slowly, the classroom began to fill up.

After some time, Verne, the Soul Arts teacher, entered the classroom.

"Good morning, students!"

He smiled widely, his hands clasped behind his back.

"I know some of you still haven't gotten the hang of the Soul Shield."

He continued,

"So, we'll continue practicing it today."

Raiven looked around the classroom, and for a split second, his eyes met Ava's.

They both looked away instantly.

'Is she watching me?'

Raiven furrowed his brows.

He remembered when she approached him and asked what Beast he could summon.

'Is she still trying to find out what Beast I can summon?'

The class eventually ended, and everyone exited the classroom.

----------

Avin, with his hands in his pockets, left the classroom, his eyes fixed forward.

'I saw Raiven in the class, but I didn't see those other three fools.'

He was talking about Tim's friends, the three boys that Tongue had killed not too long ago.

'Where could they have gone?'

Suddenly...

Bam!

A girl ran into him, and she fell down.

"Ouuu..." She winced in pain as she tried to stand up.

Avin could tell that she had run into him intentionally.

Well, he was literally a celebrity in the school for awakening a Disaster Rank Soul Ability, so he wasn't even surprised.

Everyone wanted the attention of popular people.

Avin wanted to ignore her completely and continue walking, but his eyes suddenly fell on her watch.

He raised a brow.

Then, he stretched his hand towards the girl.

"Are you okay?" he asked, a gentle smile on his face.

The girl's eyes shone with astonishment as she quickly took his hand and stood up with his help.

"Yes... I'm sorry," she said, somewhat faking a timid voice.

She adjusted her black hair with her left hand, her right hand still in Avin's grasp.

"I'm Lana, by the way," she said.

"I'm Avin," he replied, his smile never leaving his face.

"Where are you in such a hurry to?" he asked.

"Oh, I'm heading towards the Beast Discipline class," Lana said.

Avin already knew that.

This was the exact reason why he had decided to speak to her.

On her watch, the words "Beast Discipline" were boldly written on it.

"Okay," Avin said.

Then, he smiled.

"You know Raiven Ashland, right?"

"Of course," Lana replied.

"Would it be possible for you to tell me what Beast he summons in class?"

Lana found the request kind of weird, but she didn't think too much about it.

The fact that she was talking with a Disaster Rank Awakened was enough to cloud every other thought.

Moreover, she saw this as her chance.

"Of course, I can do that," she said with a smile.

"I'll have to take your contact to tell you once I find out."

"No problem," Avin said.

They both exchanged their contact through their watches, and Avin waved goodbye to her.

Among all his bullies, Raiven was the only one who could give him trouble because he had also awakened a Disaster Rank Soul Ability.

So, he needed all the information he could get about Raiven's Soul Ability.

-------

Raiven entered the Beast Discipline classroom, his eyes scanning the room.

On the walls were portraits of different Beasts.

Raiven could even see a portrait of a white dragon and a phoenix surrounded by fire.

It was obvious that those two were portraits of the Draka family's Beast and the Flamesworth family's Beast.

Raiven could also see actual claws and teeth of Beasts hanging on the wall.

The classroom was already getting filled, and everyone inside was someone with a Beast-related ability.

Three women suddenly walked into the classroom.

Instantly, the whole class went quiet.

A small smile formed on Raiven's face.

'The infamous triplets...'
