Chapter 39 - The Foremen of the Void

Chapter 39: The Foremen of the Void

In the raw, unformed dimension that Damon had designated for his new nation, the air was thick with the dust of pulverized stone and the rhythmic thundering of heavy labor. This world was a blank canvas of jagged peaks and deep, mineral-rich valleys, but it was currently a scene of controlled chaos. Thousands of former Coalition soldiers and laborers, now prisoners of war, struggled to find their footing in a landscape that obeyed none of the traditional laws of their home world. Many among them still harbored the embers of rebellion, whispering of the days when they served a "divine" Queen and a "conquering" Demon Lord. They did not yet understand that the master's they once feared had been rebuilt into something far more efficient and terrifyingly absolute.

Coatalion, the once-Demon Lord of Malice, stood atop a half-carved mesa, his massive silhouette blotting out the strange, violet sun of this realm. He did not need to shout to command attention; the mere vibration of his presence, now augmented by Damon's [Absolute Fortress] logic, made the ground tremble beneath the workers' feet. When a group of high-ranking demon soldiers attempted to drop their tools in a coordinated act of defiance, Coatalion moved with a speed that defied his mountain-like bulk. He didn't execute them; instead, he slammed his fist into the earth, causing a localized tectonic shift that instantly leveled the terrain they were meant to be tilling. He looked down at them with eyes that lacked their former cruelty but possessed an unbreakable, mechanical focus. "The Sovereign's decree is construction," Coatalion's voice boomed like falling boulders. "Every moment spent in dissent is a moment stolen from the foundation. Resume."

On the opposite side of the valley, the Lord of Iron was transforming the raw materials Damon had pillaged from across the multiverse. While Coatalion provided the raw, physical torque to reshape the geography, the Lord of Iron utilized his mastery over metal and structure to weave unbreakable alloys into the city's skeleton. He moved through the heat of massive, soul-fire forges, his hands glowing with an orange intensity as he fused beams of star-shard steel. When the laborers struggled with the weight of the massive structural components, the Lord of Iron simply adjusted the gravitational constants around the work site, making the impossible tasks manageable. There was no "bullshit" inefficiency allowed under his watch. To him, the laborers were simply components of a grander machine, and his job was to ensure every gear turned toward the goal of a peaceful utopia.

Together, the two titans worked in a perfect, terrifying synergy that no mortal army could match. They didn't just build buildings; they were crafting a civilization designed to endure for eternity. By the end of the first day, a massive outer wall, reinforced with the Lord of Iron's enchantments and Coatalion's physical density, already stretched across the horizon. The laborers, once hopeful for a chance to escape or revolt, found themselves awed into a state of rhythmic obedience. They realized that their new foremen were no longer driven by ego or the desire for glory, but by a fundamental law of nature that could not be argued with. The new nation was rising from the dirt, not through the whims of magic, but through the absolute logic of the Sovereign's will.
