Chapter 302 - No Need to Extract the Tailed Beast

While Ryōsuke still appreciated Kisame's character to an extent, the man's brutal and cold-blooded murder of a girl who loved him was truly beyond the pale.

Of course, another reason was that even if he tried to recruit him, Kisame likely wouldn't have agreed.

Guys like him were as stubborn as Uchiha Itachi; they were impossible to persuade, so Ryōsuke had finished him off without the slightest hesitation.

As for Kakuzu, there was even less to say. The man had already radiated killing intent; how could Ryōsuke possibly let him live?

He then deactivated his Susanoo, his body landing firmly on the ground.

Next, he needed to take Fū, Haku, and Zabuza to the Land of Earth.

He walked directly toward where they were waiting.

Watching from a distance, Zabuza, Fū, and Haku were still reeling from the shock of seeing the God King manifest such a massive Susanoo.

When they saw the colossal warrior swing its gargantuan blade, carving deep ravines into the earth and leveling mountain peaks with a single stroke...

And instantly slaying those two Akatsuki members...

They could only stand there with their mouths agape in total shock.

This was the first time they had truly witnessed the God King's way of fighting.

It was terrifyingly powerful.

His combat style was more monstrous than any actual monster.

Even Zabuza couldn't help but feel a sense of relief.

His previous clash with the God King was likely the pinnacle of his life.

It was fortunate that the man had wanted to recruit him back then.

Otherwise, he would have been finished, no questions asked.

He was also lucky that he hadn't been more provocative at the time.

He hadn't angered the man enough to make him strike with intent to kill.

The three men in black robes with red clouds were clearly members of the Akatsuki—the very group the God King intended to frame.

Zabuza recognized two of them. Weren't they Kisame and Jūzō, the ones who had defected from the village long before he did?

They carried two of the Mist Village's legendary Seven Ninja Swords: Samehada and the Executioner's Blade.

Anger simmered in his chest.

'Those bastards actually joined the Akatsuki.'

The God King had told him that the Akatsuki was the root cause of the Mist Village's internal chaos.

Dying under the God King's massive slash was a fitting end for them.

Now, he wanted to recover those two blades.

He hoped the Samehada Kisame carried hadn't been pulverized by that last attack.

The Ninja Swords were the ultimate treasures of the Mist Village.

Ever since he was a child, he had yearned to possess one.

Jūzō's blade should still be usable. Even though the God King had broken it in two, it didn't matter because the blade could regenerate.

It simply needed to be bathed in blood.

Meanwhile, Fū, the Seven-Tails Jinchūriki, was also shaken to her core.

How could someone be this strong? He seemed many times more powerful than the Tailed Beast sealed inside her.

The murderers who had attacked her village and killed so many of her fellow ninja had been wiped out effortlessly.

Haku was equally stunned but also visibly excited.

"Lord God King is so incredibly powerful."

Fū asked in shock from beside him,

"Is that person the God King?"

Haku replied with a look of pride,

"That's right, that's Lord God King. Who are you? Why were you with him? Did he save you?"

Fū explained,

"I'm the Jinchūriki from Takigakure. I suppose Lord God King did save me."

She thought to herself that the God King must be a good person. Not only had he saved her and the village ninja, but he had also eliminated the three villains responsible.

Haku's eyes widened when he heard her words.

"In that case, the God King's target must be you. He likely wants the Tailed Beast inside your body."

Fū's face turned pale instantly.

"Does that mean he wants my life?"

"If the Tailed Beast is taken out, I'll die."

Her heart sank into deep despair.

She thought she had met a savior and would get to live.

She naturally didn't want to die if there was any way to avoid it.

But if this God King was also after her Tailed Beast, she was a dead woman walking anyway.

The overwhelming sadness hit her all at once, and she burst into tears.

Seeing her like this, Haku realized she had misunderstood and quickly explained.

"Don't worry, you won't die."

"Lord God King has a way to safely extract the Tailed Beast from your body."

"Don't be afraid."

"Lord God King isn't that kind of cruel person."

In Haku's eyes, the God King was naturally a figure of light and justice.

Fū stopped crying and looked up.

"Is that true?"

She really didn't want to die.

Haku nodded firmly.

"Of course it's true. I heard Lord God King say so myself."

She wanted to say she had seen it, but then remembered she had never actually witnessed the God King sealing a Tailed Beast.

Hearing Haku's assurance, Fū finally felt her heart begin to settle.

Just then, Ryōsuke slowly walked over to them.

Zabuza was the first to speak. "Lord God King, may I go and recover those two Ninja Swords of the Mist?"

He wanted them for his own use, of course; he had no intention of returning them to the village.

"Go ahead,", Ryōsuke replied simply.

He didn't object at all.

He just wondered what state Samehada was in.

He knew that blade could absorb chakra and preferred owners with immense reserves since it possessed its own consciousness.

But how could Ryōsuke ever let a sword suck his chakra?

Naturally, that was impossible.

Upon hearing the permission, Zabuza immediately set off to collect the two blades.

He hoped Samehada wasn't completely destroyed.

Under such a violent attack, some damage was guaranteed.

But as long as it wasn't total scrap, there was always a chance for repair.

Meanwhile, Haku looked at the God King with deep respect.

"Lord God King, will you extract the beast from Fū without putting her life in danger?"

Fū looked at the man with a trace of fear.

He was a bit frightening, yet she felt a flicker of hope.

Her life was entirely in his hands.

Ryōsuke looked down at the two youngsters.

"There's no need to extract the beast from Fū. Don't worry."

"On the contrary, I'll teach her how to properly harness the Tailed Beast's power so she never has to fear losing control."

If he were to extract the beast from her, it would be difficult for her to ever achieve Kage-level strength on her own.
