Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: Please Resist, This Is Awkward

"Let me go as well. I'm also a user of Take Over Magic."

After Zeref finished speaking, Rain took the initiative and stepped forward.

"Eh? You too?"

Brandish μ, who had originally planned to let Zeref handle things, froze when she heard Rain's words. She reacted quickly, turning her gaze toward him with clear suspicion.

"You're a Command T Magic user, just like me, aren't you? Since when did that turn into Take Over Magic?"

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

She seriously wondered if this guy was messing with her on purpose—just trying to fool her.

"Can't someone practice two types of magic?"

Rain smiled calmly in response to Brandish's doubts. Then, without warning, he stepped right up in front of her.

His expression suddenly turned solemn—almost majestic.

"Brandish," he said slowly, his voice carrying an unexplainable pressure,

"you actually dare to question your master?"

"W—What!!"

Brandish sucked in a sharp breath.

She stared at Rain in disbelief, her entire body going stiff in an instant.

What the hell was that just now?!

Did he do that on purpose?

Or… did he say it without even realizing?

If it was intentional—then how did he know?

And why, when she looked at him, did she suddenly feel the same oppressive presence she felt when facing the Star Spirit King?

"Hm?"

Rain's gaze sharpened again when he saw her reaction.

"You. Step back."

Brandish subconsciously took a step backward.

She didn't dare say another word.

Because she couldn't guarantee that if he did that one more time, she wouldn't embarrass herself right on the spot.

"Hah."

Seeing her like that, Rain's stern expression instantly melted into a smile. He didn't say anything else, turning around and walking straight toward Dimaria Yesta.

"Gulp…"

Brandish swallowed.

For some reason, she felt like that smile carried a deeper meaning.

"He's not planning to… eat me later, is he?"

Otherwise, why did it feel like that terrifying pressure was saying 'I'll deal with you later'?

"Tch—damn it!"

She clenched her small fist, striking a determined pose.

"If he dares try anything funny, I'm not just going to take it lying down!"

Her reaction—unintentionally—looked surprisingly cute.

"That guy…"

Unbeknownst to Brandish, Erza Scarlet had seen the whole exchange. Her expression instantly became guarded.

"I feel like she might become an opponent."

An opponent in what?

That was obvious.

An opponent… in competing for a man.

"Wait—why did I even think about competing for a man?!"

Erza snapped back to reality and immediately began questioning her own sanity.

Why was she subconsciously treating Rain as hers?

That wasn't how she usually thought at all.

"…Damn it. This is definitely your fault, Mirajane Strauss, you demon."

After some quick mental gymnastics, Erza dumped all responsibility onto Mirajane.

Clearly, this strange change in her thinking had to be Mirajane's doing.

Rain, completely unaware of the silent battlefield forming behind him, stopped in front of Dimaria Yesta.

She was still wrapped in Time Magic, frozen in place.

Without hesitation, he extended both hands.

"Fairy Tail…?"

The moment Rain reached out, Zeref finally noticed the Fairy Tail guild mark on his hand.

His gaze flickered slightly, a trace of nostalgia passing through his eyes.

But it vanished just as quickly.

Wrapped in dense magic power and an overwhelming presence, Rain's hands pierced straight through the Time Magic and made contact with Dimaria's body.

His expression sharpened instantly.

Violent magic power surged outward.

"Take Over—Receive!"

Magic of the same nature—Take Over Magic—erupted from Rain's body, rushing forth to hunt down the divine remnant hidden within Dimaria.

"Huh?"

But the moment Rain fully focused on the takeover, something felt off.

"She… isn't resisting?"

Rain froze.

Something was wrong—very wrong.

This wasn't how it was supposed to go.

Why wasn't she resisting at all?

"That's bad."

Rain immediately sensed trouble.

If he were alone, he wasn't confident he could overpower a god's remnant soul by himself.

Without Dimaria's cooperation, this Take Over could easily backfire.

At that instant—just as danger loomed—

a hidden gate of space and time deep within Rain's soul flickered faintly with light.

"No… I can't keep going like this. I have to contact Dimaria directly."

Otherwise—

"I'll be devoured."

Without hesitation, Rain split off part of his consciousness and dove straight toward Dimaria Yesta's mind.

The moment his awareness entered, his vision turned completely white.

Pure white.

Endless, empty white.

Nothing existed there—

No, that wasn't entirely true.

At the center of this blank world sat a beautiful girl.

She was sitting quietly, knees pulled close, her hands resting on them.

Motionless. Blank. As if she'd been abandoned in this space.

"Dimaria Yesta?"

Rain approached her carefully.

"You are…?"

Dimaria looked up at him, confusion flickering in her eyes.

She was certain of two things.

She had never met this man before.

And he was definitely not the god's remnant.

So then…

Who was he?

"My name is Rain," he said calmly. "Right now, in the outside world, I'm using Take Over Magic to deal with the god's remnant inside you."

He met her gaze, serious and steady.

"If we work together, we can divide the remnant soul and complete the Take Over safely."

"…There's no need."

To Rain's surprise, Dimaria lowered her eyes again after hearing his explanation.

Her voice was flat—empty.

"It's fine if everything ends here."

She hugged her knees slightly tighter.

"You should just leave. Don't worry about me."

After saying that, Dimaria Yesta returned to her dazed silence, as if the world itself had lost meaning.

"...?"

Rain stood there, completely stunned.
