Chapter 163 - Chapter 86 Part 1 A Family Corrupted by Money

At last, they found Theressa, though not in the way they had hoped, because Sophie and Fiona had also been captured... and Mr. Sonda had indeed been working with the Mafia.

Theressa: "...Hahh."

Sophie: "Why are you here?"

Theressa: "He bought me from the Mafia... At first, I thought he was going to save me, but instead... he stripped me and... well, you can probably guess the rest."

Sophie: "Ugh."

Fiona: "What a disgusting bastard."

Theressa: "Listen, you two... there are three of us now. Maybe we can free ourselves... but we'll have to work together."

Fiona: "Okay. Do you have a plan?"

Theressa: "Yes. I want you to help me kill my family."

Sophie: "What?!"

Fiona: "No thanks. I'm not getting involved in something like that."

Theressa: "Either way, we have to. They betrayed the Dark Umbrella."

Fiona: "But... all of them?"

Theressa: "Everyone except my younger sister. She knew nothing about it. So we'll only kill Mother, Father, Brother, and my other sister."

Sophie: "Ugh... No... even her? Lumi too?"

Theressa: "Yeah. Who would've thought... Hmph."

Sophie: "Oh no..."

Fiona: "Now I understand why some people are afraid of becoming rich. That's exactly why... Money causes a lot of problems."

Theressa: "Tss. They were always like this... just not this brutal. They've been pulling this kind of crap for more than ten years."

Sophie: "Ugh."

Theressa: "Sophie... you want the truth? My parents... killed your parents."

Sophie: "Ugh."

Fiona: "What?! I thought the Owls did it together with the Materazzis."

Theressa: "Hahh... The Owls were hired to kill two people over a debt. Vito Valeria and Mika Valeria. I only learned that recently. They paid the Owls... and the Owls dressed themselves like Materazzis... and killed your parents."

Sophie: "Ugh."

Fiona: "...Sophie..."

Sophie: "...Hahh... Then why did they take care of me?"

Theressa: "My aunt Metilda felt sorry for you when she found out. That's why she took you in. My father was against it, but it was already too late. You were already there."

Sophie: "Ugh... You're telling me... that the people who took care of me all this time... were the ones who murdered my parents."

Theressa: "Mhm."

Sophie: "Ughh..."

Theressa: "Hmm."

Sophie: "How long have you known?"

Theressa: "...About three months. Shortly before I disappeared. That's why I came here... to confront my father."

Sophie: "Ughh..."

Fiona: "Hahh... Theressa, there is no going back. Are you sure you want to do this? You're a negotiator and a sort of leader. If you order it, I'll do what you ask... but I wonder if you're really sure. Do you really want us to help you kill your family? Can you live with that guilt? Have you ever even killed someone before?"

Theressa: "I have. Back when I was a detective, I killed five people in total."

Fiona: "That was a long time ago."

Theressa: "I'll recover."

Fiona: "You can't. That's how it is. No matter what happens... it never leaves you. The thought that you've killed someone. I've killed far more than you. I know that. I've killed twenty people."

Theressa: "Hahh... Will you help me?"

Fiona: "Yes."

Theressa: "Will you stay loyal to me?"

Fiona: "Yes..."

Theressa: "Okay. Then help me kill my family. We'll spare only the servants and my little sister."

Fiona: "Is that really a good idea? Your sister Emilia... she probably won't understand. Unlike you, family means more to her."

Theressa: "...Are you saying I should take her with us?"

Fiona: "No. Your sister is too young... and does she even have anything to do with this?"

Theressa: "No."

Sophie: "Hahh... I'll help too."

Fiona: "Are you sure?"

Theressa: "You don't have to. You don't need to stain your hands with blood."

Fiona: "Oh, but mine are fine for that, huh? Hmph."

Theressa: "Sophie has barely killed anyone. Fiona, you have."

Fiona: "Yeah, yeah..."

Sophie: "I'm joining."

Theressa: "Okay... Fiona, we're sparing the servants, right?"

Fiona: "No reason to drag innocent people into this."

Theressa: "If I ordered it, would you do it?"

Fiona: "No."

Theressa: "I see. So you're not that loyal after all."

Fiona: "Loyalty? Listen, Theressa... I only said no because I don't think it's necessary. Do you want to kill Beta or something?"

Theressa: "No. It was just a test."

Sophie: "I wouldn't kill any of the servants either, okay?!"

Theressa: "It was only a test. My goodness. I like that you're loyal but still have morals. That's how I like it. So... one of them will probably come here. It could be my brother... Leonardo."

Someone entered. It was her brother, Leonardo.

Leonardo: "Those your friends? Didn't know you actually had friends, Theressa."

Theressa: "Hmm."

He walked closer to Sophie and Fiona.

Leonardo: "Sophie, I'm sorry, darling... And you there, Fiona, right? Hehehe... Don't take it personally."

As he approached, Sophie slammed her head into his jaw.

Leonardo: "Ughh... Damn it!"

At the same time, Fiona lightly stomped on his foot. After all, she was still tied up.

Leonardo: "Bitch."

He approached and grabbed Fiona by the shoulders.

Leonardo: "Tsss..."

Then Fiona suddenly lunged forward and bit into his throat.

Leonardo: "Ughh! Aaaaarghh!"

Fiona: "Ghhhh!"

(Splach!)

He fell to the floor clutching his throat.

Sophie: "I... I've got the knife."

She was holding it with her mouth.

Theressa: "Good. Free me."

Sophie: "Okay."

She did. Theressa freed herself, then untied Sophie and Fiona.

Sophie: "Ugh."

Fiona: "Hmm."

Leonardo: "Urk... Ghh..."

Theressa: "Oh Leo... You were always an idiot."

She looked around and picked up a metal rod.

Leonardo: "No, wait, sister—"

(Splach!)

She smashed it into his face.

(Splach!)

Sophie: "Ugh."

Fiona: "How cruel. At least let him finish talking."

Theressa: "Hmph."

She spat on him.

Theressa: "There's a feast today. A lot of people will be there. I have a little surprise planned for my family."

Sophie: "Ugh."

Fiona: "Oh dear... I have a feeling this is going to be awful."

Theressa: "Oh yes. Go upstairs. There's a room up there where you can watch everything happening in the dining hall. Come down when I give the signal."

Sophie: "Okay."

Fiona: "Mhm."

Theressa took Leonardo's pistol and left the room.

Sophie looked at Fiona, and Fiona simply shrugged.

They left as well.

Sophie: "I wonder what she's planning."

Fiona: "No idea. I wouldn't recommend trying to understand it. Theressa is actually kind... but when it comes to loyalty toward Dark Umbrella, she sometimes takes it too far."

Sophie: "Hmm."

They went upstairs.

Sophie: "Ughhh."

Fiona: "Shh!"

They slipped into a room before being spotted.

Sophie: "Ugh... Fiona..."

Fiona: "What is it... Ugh."

Beta was lying on the bed, asleep.

Sophie: "He didn't... with her, did he?"

Fiona: "He did. It smells like... semen."

Sophie: "Gross..."

Fiona: "Hahhh... This family is truly disgusting."

She checked Beta's pulse.

Fiona: "She's alive, but it looks like she was drugged. Whatever happened, it wasn't voluntary."

She took some saliva from Beta's mouth and smelled it.

Fiona: "Ahh... a sleeping mixture. He made her drowsy so she wouldn't fully understand what was happening and wouldn't remember much afterward."

Sophie: "Ughh... Poor Beta."

Fiona: "Hahh. We shouldn't wake her."

Fiona covered her with a blanket and even placed her own jacket over her.

Sophie: "Hmm."

Fiona: "Hahhh."

She gently stroked Beta's cheek.

Fiona: "Let's go."

Sophie: "Mhm."

They left the room.

Sophie: "Hahh... What happened to this family?"

Fiona: "They've always been like this. You heard Theressa."

Sophie: "Mmmm."

They climbed higher.

Sophie: "Ugh... What kind of room is this?"

Fiona: "Looks like a place where someone would hide things."

Sophie: "What kind of things?"

They looked around.

Sophie: "Are those—"

Fiona: "Yeah... paintings. A lot of them."

Sophie: "Hmm?"

Fiona: "And what's in here?"

She opened a container.

Fiona: "Okay. I've seen enough."

Sophie: "Why? Ugh... what's that?"

Fiona: "Exactly what it looks like. A tooth."

Sophie: "Hmm... Hey, look down there."

Fiona: "Huh?"

There was an opening. Below them was the dining room.

Sophie: "That's definitely the dining room."

Fiona: "Mhm."

Sophie: "Hmm... The food is coming."

Fiona: "Mhm."

They watched.

Lumi: "So, Padre, did you take care of them?"

Mr. Sonda: "Yes, I did."

Josephine: "Hehehehehe... Darling... please don't be too hard on Theressa."

Mr. Sonda: "Mhm."

They began eating.

Josephine: "Where's Leonardo?"

Mr. Sonda: "He'll be here soon. No need to wait... Mm... Hmmm. The food feels strange."

Lumi: "Yeah..."

(Crack)

Lumi: "What's that?"

She pulled something from her mouth.

Lumi: "Ugh... A... a tooth."

Mr. Sonda: "Mm? And what's this...?"

He pulled something from his plate.

Mr. Sonda: "...A tooth?! (Cough) (Cough)... What's happening here...? (Cough)... It's poison."

Josephine: "Darli— (Cough) (Cough)."

Lumi: "Huh?!"

Someone entered. It was Theressa.

Theressa: "Happy New Year."

Mr. Sonda: "Theressa... Ughh..."

Theressa: "And how did Leonardo's tooth taste?"

Mr. Sonda: "Ughhh..."

Theressa: "The Materazzis often used it as a message. They would terrify the victims' families with the victim's tooth. You people are absolutely horrible for working with them. I poisoned all of you except Lumi."

Mr. Sonda: "Ughh... Daughter..."

Theressa smiled faintly and embraced him from behind.

Mr. Sonda: "Ghh..."

Theressa: "Oh, dear Padre... How does it feel... to be murdered by your own daughter?"

Mr. Sonda: "But... Urk... (Cough)..."

He collapsed dead. Josephine died as well.

Lumi: "Padre... Madre..."

Theressa: "Lumi."

Lumi: "No, Theressa... Hey... you wouldn't kill me too... would you?"

Theressa: "Hmm... You were the one I most wanted to suffer. Because I thought you were one of the good ones..."

She picked up a pair of fireplace tongs.

Theressa: "But you're just a whore."

She struck Lumi's foot.

Lumi: "Ugh, wait!"

(Splach!)

She drove the tongs through Lumi's mouth and out the other side.

Lumi: "Urkk... Gghhh..."

She fell dead.

Theressa: "Hahhhh... Hahhh... Hahh."

She sat down in a chair, breathing heavily. Then she looked at a glass.

Sophie: "Huh?"

Fiona: "No!"

They rushed downstairs because they realized what Theressa intended.

Theressa: "Hahhhh..."

(Gulp!)

Fiona: "You stupid idiot!"

She grabbed her immediately.

Theressa: "Ugh."

Fiona: "Spit it out!"

She shoved her fingers into Theressa's mouth.

Theressa: "Ughh... (Blearghhh!!!)"

Fiona: "Hahh... Hahhhhh... Hahhhh... What were you thinking?"

Theressa: "What does it look like?"

Sophie: "You were trying to kill yourself."

Theressa: "That was my plan from the beginning. Why do you think I was so certain I could kill them and live with the guilt?"

Fiona: "Hmph."

Sophie: "Gmhh."

Sophie slapped her across the face.

Sophie: "Ghh."

Fiona: "(Sweating)... Um, Sophie?"

Theressa: "Ugh."

Sophie: "What about me? What about me, you stupid idiot?!"

Theressa: "Huh?!"

Sophie: "Am I not your sister too?!"

Theressa: "Sophie."

Sophie: "Why? Why does nobody ever think about me?! Why?!"

Fiona: "Mmm..."

Theressa: "Sophie... I'm sorry."

Sophie: "Shut up!"

Lumi: "Urkk."

Sophie: "Ghh!"

She stepped down harder on the tongs.

(Splach!)

Lumi: "Urk!"

Sophie: "Then die already!"

Fiona: "Sophie!"

She grabbed her.

Fiona: "What is wrong with both of you? Have you completely lost your minds? What is this nonsense?! Theressa, was all of this really necessary? Did you have to kill them like that? Your own sister?"

Theressa: "Mm..."

Fiona: "And you, Sophie... calm down already."

Sophie: "Let me go. I'm angry."

Fiona: "Ughh."

Sophie: "Every time... every single time... I thought maybe I'd finally found someone who understood me! But I always get stabbed in the back. And you, Theressa, can go to hell. You planned to kill yourself from the very beginning and never told me. I thought... I thought I was family to you. Oh right, sorry. You never even wanted to take me in."

Theressa: "Sophie, hey... No... that's not what I meant."

Fiona: "Hahhh..."

Sophie: "Ghh... I'm angry... I'm so angry..."

Fiona: "Mm?"

Sophie began crying, covering her face with her hands.

Sophie: "Aaaaaargghhhh!"

Fiona: "Ugh... Sophie."

Theressa: "No, no, no. Please stop."

She stood up and hugged her.

Theressa: "Stop... stop... please."

Sophie: "Shut up!"

Fiona: "Hmm?"

She turned and noticed the servants watching.

Fiona: "Shhhhh."

Fiona slowly approached them and left the room.

Fiona: "Let's leave them alone for a moment, okay?"

Servant: "Um... sure."

Fiona: "Hmm."

She walked a little way down the stairs.

Beta: "Huh?"

Fiona: "Hey."

She stroked her hair.

Beta: "Ughh."

Fiona sat on a table.

Fiona: "Ughhh... Come here, Beta. Sit beside me."

Beta: "Ughh... okay."

She did.

Fiona put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close.

Beta: "Ugh."

Fiona: "You're cute."

She stroked her head.

Beta: "What happened? Did something happen?"

Fiona: "No... I just need a distraction. I don't like seeing Sophie cry. Otherwise I'll start crying too."

Beta: "Ugh."

Fiona: "...I just don't like seeing people cry. Doesn't matter who they are. Ahh... emotions and humanity, I suppose."

Beta: "Ugh... I understand. It's okay. We're human."

Fiona: "Mhm. Yeah. I guess that's true. Maybe we humans should cry more often... to let our frustrations out."

Meanwhile...

(Splop!)

The Glove: "My goodness. And I thought you Materazzis were stronger than this."

Several corpses lay around him.

The Glove: "Oh, look who's here. Undertaker."

Undertaker: "Did you get them?"

The Glove: "Of course I did. I have what we need. Picasso's paintings... from the castle."

Undertaker: "Good. Let's go."
