"Kudo, you—" Ai opened and closed her mouth, still shocked. "Wait," "Water style- water prison." A massive bubble of water surrounded the chakra beast, now revealed to be a black panther.
"Good work Kudo, how Taijin-san how are Konoha shinobi?" Takao smugly asked. Taijin rubbed his head in embarrassment. "Strong, they are strong. But what will you do about the beast?" Taijin asked. The beast had killed his men, and he had an urge to exact revenge.
"I wish to keep it, Sensei." Kudo quickly interjected. He looked at the beast encased in the bubble. Takao stood for a moment, thinking it over. "I guess you can, since the mission was to stop the beast. Alright, let's report to the village chief and Kudo. Nice work on minimizing damage to the surroundings. You must always remember that shinobi wield great power to protect and destroy, so be careful." They quickly rushed to the village with the beast now bound, since it was difficult to maintain the sphere.
Team 5, along with the beast, quickly left the village, heading back to Konoha. On the way back, "Um, Sensei, don't you know the summoning jutsu and how to make a contract seal? I want to make it my summon." Kudo asked, getting anxious; he didn't want to hand it over to the village.
"Hmm, are you sure? I mean, it has genin combat level, but it's still weak, so why not look for something stronger?" Takao replied while leaping between trees.
"Well, I want it to grow along with me. A companion." Kudo said, looking forward. Silence ensued for a bit. "Okay, let's hold here for a bit," Takao ordered as they retreated into a hidden cave.
"Give me a black scroll, ink, and brush," Takao said, turning to Kudo. Kudo opened the scroll given by his mother, inserting his chakra into the scroll; a scroll, brush, and ink jar quietly appeared.
Steadying his breathing, Takao proceeded to make fuinjutsu seals while his students watched over the sedated beast and kept guard against ambushes.
After 15 minutes, "Alright, done." Takao sighed in relief, colour returning to his face. Fuinjutsu seals were easy to master, and even he himself was an elite fuinjutsu practitioner, not a seal master yet.
Turning to his students, "This is it, a contract seal. I have created the basic template along with all necessary rules; it isn't an enslavement contract. Look it over and tell me anything you want to add." Takao said while taking a seat, restoring his chakra.
Kudo, Ai, and Enya quickly took the scroll and began reading, looking at the list of conditions between the summoner and the potential contract beast. Kudo was satisfied.
"Let's do it." He said, looking at the beast. He took out an antidote pill and fed it to the black panther. Takao nodded and stepped forward. "Remember, the scroll has a two-fold purpose; firstly, it functions as a containment for the beast, but not indefinitely. Secondly, it is a contract that solidifies the existing bond between you two. You have the sole authority to terminate the contract, but that doesn't mean the summoned beast is a sacrificial lamb.
Now, bite your finger and focus your chakra into your fingers." Takao said, unfolding the scroll. Kudo did as instructed, with pale blue chakra burning at the fingertips, and signed the scroll. Immediately, a vast amount of chakra flowed into the scroll, about 40% of his reserves. "Now, remove your hand." Takao then took the scroll towards the beast, which had been silently watching them, its green eyes fixed furiously on Kudo.
Kudo also stared at the beast, flaring a bit of his chakra. The beast roared but remained paralyzed as the antidote took its time. Without ceremony, Takao took its massive paw and drew blood with a kunai; with a few taps at chakra points, chakra flowed along the limb. "Submit," Takao ordered, his bloodlust sending the black panther into a shivering frenzy. He placed the paw on the scroll, and immediately, Kudo felt a vague connection to the beast. They both stared at each other from across the cave; the beast turned its head, moping alone.
"The contract is still new, so it will take time for the bond to strengthen. Also, feed it and train with it; then the bond will become even stronger." Takao advised. "Sensei, do you have a summon as well? You seem to know so much." Enya asked, looking at his sensei. The Yamanaka was a bit envious that Kudo had a summon while he didn't, but he wasn't interested in a beast like that.
"Yes, I do, but I will show you another time. It's time to go; we have delayed long enough." Team 5 rushed back to the village. Takao went to submit their 2nd C-rank mission, earning each of them 300 Ryo and 30 mission points. Among the genin of Team 5, they now each had 95 mission points after 2 C-rank missions and 10 D-rank missions. The lowest D-rank jutsu cost 100 mission points.
With the massive scroll on his back that was uncomfortable at first, Kudo rushed back home after taking care of registering his summon with the village. Since it was a genin-level summon, it was not that noteworthy amongst the village higher-ups.
Reaching his house;
"Moom!" He shouted as he came rapidly undoing his boots. "What is it?!" Tanehiko Ina came rushing out into the living room. Seeing his figure, she smiled sweetly, "Welcome back." She hugged him and then, "Bam!"
"What are you shouting for?" Ina asked as she pinched his ear. "Oww-oww, please stop. I'm sorry." Kudo squirmed. "Anyway, come look at what I brought back!" Taking her hand, he quickly led her into the yard of the house.
Biting his thumb, he quickly made a series of hand seals. "Summoning jutsu!" He slammed his hands onto the ground where a fuinjustu pattern flashed briefly before a massive black panther appeared sharing daggers at Kudo.
Behind him, his mother almost squealed, looking at the massive beast threatening to tear into her son.
While the black panther surveyed the surroundings, Kudo turned to his mother. "Her name is Zetsuei, cool, right?" Kudo grinned.
"WHAT IS THAT?" Ina shrieked.
