Early morning, around 5am, Kudo left his home heading for Naruto's place. The village was serene, just waking up. He rushed ahead, and in 5 minutes, he reached Naruto's apartment. He knocked for a few minutes until, finally, a drowsy Naruto opened the door. Kudo hurriedly entered, avoiding the stink eyes of the furious neighbors.
"Kudo, what are you doing here?" Naruto asked, yawning while ruffling his stomach, "Came to see you and give you this." Kudo held out a scroll."What's that for?" Naruto asked, taking the scroll, "My mom said congrats for becoming a shinobi."Naruto paused momentarily, he took a deep sigh, trembling slightly, "Thanks, you know." He opened the scroll, and the collection inside made his breath hitch higher, "Is it really okay? I mean, this must have been expensive." Stunned, Naruto looked at Kudo.
Kudo shrugged his shoulders, "It's fine. It's a gift, so you can't say no." Looking at the orange jumpsuits, Kudo's eye twitched, Naruto caught the twitch, and he flushed red. "Anyway, how was your sensei? Is he strong?"
"No way! You don't even know the half of it. First off, he came late, like really late, and didn't even introduce himself. He even threatened to send us back to the academy. I don't like him. Hmph!" Naruto ranted as Kudo nodded; his sensei was weird as well.
"Yesterday, he only won because he used that cheap justsu and snuck behind me. He was scared of facing me." Naruto grumbled, pacing, "Naruto, now that you are a shinobi, do you know your chakra nature?" Kudo asked, thinking about the arsenal of scrolls he had. As Genin, they still had access to the D and E sections of the academy library, but the village library required mission points to access.
The village Library had more depth of information, while the academy library didn't even have C-rank jutsus."What's that?" Naruto asked, puzzled. Kudo's eyes twitched for a bit. "Go ask your sensei, but if you don't ask, then you won't become a great shinobi, forget even becoming the Hokage." "Really? That's bad. Hey, why don't you just tell me? Come on, tell me." Naruto urged, his face looking like he did in tests, panicking and holding off a trip to the toilet.
"No, Naruto. Ask your sensei." Kudo said, turning to leave. He had his fair share of teaching Naruto, and it was not pleasant."Wait! Sexy jutsu." With a puff, a steaming babe stood before Kudo. She stood in a bikini, "Pretty please." Her voice is alluring. Kudo shook with rage, "NARUTOO!" A back kick found its way onto Naruto's gut. "Thud." Naruto's jutsu broke while he hurled his guts. Kudo, about to leave, stopped again, "If you haven't mastered tree walking by the time I get back, you will get my iron knuckle." He left, rushing towards the training ground. Today was team 5's first training session he couldn't be late.
'How can he create a jutsu like that but can't master basic jutsu, hmph. Pervert.' He rushed ahead into the village, beginning to get lively. Arriving at training ground 27, the burnt western section immediately came into view. Kudo saw Ai sitting ahead and walked over.
"Morning."
"Hi," Ai said a bit stiffly. Inside, she was still embarrassed about yesterday; she didn't expect to lose her cool like that. The hokage's gaze yesterday didn't help either. Enya arrived last, and it was now 6 am, and instantly, a figure flickered, arriving before them. "Morning," Takao said, his gaze calm, unlike yesterday."Today we will focus on individual training, from yesterday in some aspects, you indeed are Genin rank, but Genin can be strong or weak, so I will spend the week refining your fundamentals so that when we start to focus on teamwork, you will at least be at the same level fundamentals-wise." He immediately made two shadow clones, "You come with me. Enya goes with the other one." One of the clones pointed at Kudo and Enya while the original remained with Ai.
The 4-left leaving Ai with Takao,
"Forget about yesterday and come at me, stick to fundamentals only. Taijutsu, genjutsu, and then ninjutsu.""Begin!" Takao said, Ai rushed in, "Sever leaf hurricane." Takao took a step back, Ai's leg brushing past his head. 'Unnecessary.' He thought, after landing, Ai shot a back kick, which was completely avoided. Takao shot forth arms behind, a push kick followed by a spin wheel kick. "Damn." Ai clumsily evaded, Takao didn't give her a break, closing in and throwing a series of advanced taijutsu, still without using his arms.Ai fought back, she parried, evaded, and struck back fiercer and more ruthlessly. 10 minutes into the spar, she started using faints, and that made Takao smile. 'Good, when faced with a superior opponent, you use everything, biting, etc. You can't afford to be fair.' Takao started using his arms; combinations of fists and elbow strikes struck true.'It's time.' Ai thought for the past few minutes she had endured a serious beating, she released subtle chakra fluctuations, creating mirages of her attacks.
One kick became two, her silhouette shifting, impossible. 'Genjutsu.' Takao thought. He had disrupted his chakra subtly, but pretended to be still unaware. 'You can't fool me, sensei.' Ai thought, 'Genjutsu: Demonic hell viewing Jutsu.' The trees distorted as Ai layered on another genjutsu, but she wasn't done, as inside it, she layered on a third genjutsu. 'Genjutsu: Voracious wood.' Trunks of wood shot from the ground, impaling Takao. 'Good.' Takao thought it wasn't easy to layer genjutsu on top of one another. If it were an inexperienced shinobi, she could have won by now, but every genjutsu was dispelled by Takao the instant she used it.
Ai jumped back, her hands moving, "Fire style: great fireball." A searing ball shot towards Takao furiously, cleaving the air. "Earth style: Earth wall." A wall of solid earth took the blow from the explosion thundering in the training ground. "Shadow clone jutsu!" Two of Ai rushed forward into the dust cloud. A wired shuriken shot forward but was met with Takao's kunai. "Clang-Clang!" The two rapidly and furiously fought, but Ai was visibly slowing down, her breath becoming more ragged, but she didn't give up. ' I don't, I won't quit.' She thought her heart was blazing. The original retreated, making fast hand seals, "Fire style; Searing migraine!' Seeing her hand seals, "No, you don't."
"Water style; Great waterfall." Takao inhaled and shot forward a flood of water, clashing with the inferno. Searing smoke blasted in all directions as they both retreated. A dozen feet away, Ai was about to head in, "Earth style: head-hunter jutsu." She was dragged underground, and a kunai was pointed at her neck. "You lose."
