Chapter 152 - Deception

‎A week passed quickly, and Dydra's fever finally subsided. Yet Leonard made no attempt to tell her that he had found a way to rid her of the knight who had been relentlessly pursuing her.

‎Meanwhile, news of Niaya and Greyson's impending marriage spread throughout both kingdoms. Ironically, the groom himself was the last to learn of it. Though Niaya had yet to return home, she exchanged letters with her mother frequently, each one carrying updates from the royal palace.

‎Lannae's steps came to an abrupt halt. Annoyance flickered across her face as she cast a sideways glare at the knight trailing behind her. He had attached himself to her like a shadow. No matter where she went, he remained exactly five feet away. Whenever she returned to her chambers, he would enter first, thoroughly inspect every corner of the room, and only then permit her to step inside.

‎And it had been only a week since her brother had appointed him as her personal guard.

‎A frown tugged at her lips.
