Chapter 99 - Beat ⁹⁹★Dance & Lies☆

Dance & Lies

Everyone was clapping and cheering loudly—everyone except Jin, whose vision had gone blurry and couldn't focus.

The glass, now shattered in his hand, was covered in blood, but he felt nothing.

Dex grabbed his hand, immediately cleaned it, and wrapped it with some napkins.

"You're really crazy," he whispered.

"I want to go there now," Jin said, his voice low and tense.

Dex turned his gaze toward Smart and the guy standing in front of him.

He clearly understood that he was the person Jin had told him about.

"Fuck…" he muttered, then shifted his eyes toward Jin.

"Is this the one you told me about?" Dex asked, trying hard to erase any doubt lingering in his mind.

Jin was so angry he couldn't even speak at that moment.

His mind felt suffocated, like it couldn't get any air.

After a few seconds, he finally started to speak.

"Yeah… I guess you know him, right?"

Dex lit a cigarette and took a few drags.

Mmmm

We flirted before, but we never went all the way—because I didn't agree, due to his age."

Finally, Jin laughed.

"So at last, someone from showbiz you haven't slept with yet," he teased.

"Hmm…" Dex smiled.

"Maybe I'll have to get him into bed soon, but… I'm not into younger guys."

.

"Close your eyes and just imagine you're having sex with someone your own age.

Way simpler!!" Jin added with a grin.

"Alright… I hope it won't come to that," Dex said under his breath.

Jin shook his head.

"You and your stupid rules…

You're not going to die if you sleep with someone a few years younger than you.

You've built this barrier for yourself, and you don't even know why."

What Jin said was completely right.

Even Dex didn't understand why he had built that barrier for himself.

If he looked a little deeper, he would realize it was just something pointless—nothing real, nothing written anywhere.

If he let himself go and broke free from that idea, he'd understand that his most enjoyable moments were only when he was around Han.

And even though Han was still just a spoiled, cute brat to him… he was enjoying himself more than ever.

Jin – "His group is one of the most famous right now.

Anyone would dream of being part of his team.

Maybe you should let Smart decide for himself."Dex said, trying to convince Jin not to take any action.

At that moment, Jin felt something in his chest that made it hard to breathe.

"Dex, what the fuck are you saying!?

No way I'd let Smart get anywhere near him—or anyone else!"

"Damn, calm down.

What's with this behavior?

You can't react like this every time someone gets close to Smart!

It doesn't matter who it is—what matters is who he chooses to be with."

"Then?" Jin asked again, firm and determined.

"Should I leave him in your hands, or handle this my way?" he asked, his voice a little cold.

"Okay, okay… leave him to me! " Dex said with a mischievous grin.

Then he turned back to Jin.

"Think carefully—this isn't a game.

Don't forget, you might face the consequences of this."

"Dex… I'm furious right now, and I don't give a damn about the consequences.

Please, just go and handle it—don't leave this to me."

"Smart's dream will be only me."

"Fuck," Smart whispered in a low voice, thinking about how to find a reason to leave quickly.

He was so eager to see his Jin.

"Finally, you showed up!" Jake's voice came as he stood in front of him, smiling.

"Uh—you're really hard to get!

Maybe being a model or a waiter keeps you way too busy, huh?"

Smart smiled lightly and replied calmly,

"Hmm—you're well prepared!

You've gathered all the right information!

So, what now?"

"Of course I did my research on the members of my team," Jake replied immediately.

"On the members of your team?

But the person you researched isn't even in your team yet!

Maybe your research was for nothing.

You just wasted your time!"

Jake smiled.

"Just a matter of time.

Soon enough, you'll be part of the team."

Smart took a deep breath and stared into his eyes.

"What are you doing here? Why all this show?"

"I'm here for the challenge!" Jake said, winking at him.

Smart took two steps toward him, keeping his eyes locked…

but Jake's bodyguard immediately stepped forward, trying to stop him.

Jake signaled him to back off, letting him know everything was under control.

At that moment, Jin's mind went completely blank.

He couldn't understand why Smart was moving closer and not keeping his distance.

Smart… behave, or I don't know how much longer I can hold back…"," he thought.

hmm "For the challenge? Are you sure that's the reason?" Smart asked.

"I don't know if I'm sure… hmm, maybe yes, maybe no," Jake replied with a smile that held a hint of mischief.

"Jake… you're the lead singer in your group, not the lead dancer!

How can you challenge me when you know you're going to lose?"

"Then it would be a pleasure to get lost with someone as perfect as you." he winked.

Smart shook his head.

"Alright then… let's make your wish come true."

He stepped back a few paces, immediately pulled out his phone, and started typing a message.

Jake stepped closer again.

"Hmm… you had time to text, but no time to reply to our choreographer, right?"

Smart looked into his eyes, not understanding what he meant.

Reply ?

"Den texted you a few days ago, but you didn't reply at all," Jake said again.

Smart checked his phone and saw that there were no messages from Den.

"I didn't get any messages."

He paused for two seconds, then spoke again.

"Wait! Wait!

How did you get my number?"

"Finding someone's number these days doesn't take any science, I guess.

Just search a little, and you'll find it."

Smart smiled at the corner of his lips.

"You like playing detective?"

"Where it piques my interest—hmm, yes," Jake replied, his eyes sparkling.

Smart didn't say a word—he just finished typing the message and sent it immediately.

Jin, watching every move Smart made, whispered,

"Who the hell are you texting now?"

"I guess it must be really hard to have a boyfriend as unique as Smart," Dex said calmly.

Handsome, with almost European features, always smiling, gorgeous, perfectly built, cute yet sexy… I don't even know what else to add.

I think anyone would fall for him.

Jin went crazy at the idea, and now that Dex had mentioned it, he was nearly furious.

"Dex… don't say too much, or I swear I'll go there and drag Smart back myself right now…"

"But you should still feel happy," Dex added, deliberately trying to calm Jin and push away the horrible thoughts in his mind.

"The one everyone wants… he's all yours."

At that moment, the phone lit up, and Jin grabbed it immediately.

A message from Smart:

✉️ "Bubu.

I want to see you.

I missed you."

Jin read it, unable to hide his smile in that moment.

He quickly typed back:

✉️ "Same here.

I'm dying to feel your scent!!"

Dex leaned over and read the message, then lightly punched him on the shoulder.

"Fuck—he's right in front of Jake, and all he can think about is you!!"

"Mmm… he's my cute babe— all mine."

""If it were anyone else in Smart's place, they'd already be in Jake's arms without a second thought!

Jake doesn't have to lift a finger.

They come to him, and he picks whoever he wants.

But with Smart he's flipping the rules."

"It's strang he's doing the exact opposite-Dex muttered, a little confused, as he realized that Jake must really be obsessed with Smart, given how he was acting.

"I swear I'd kill him before he even touches what's mine!" Jin said, his voice sharp and fierce.

"Okay, okay… it won't get that far.

I'm here to handle it now.

Honestly… I'm surprised.

I've never seen you act like this over a guy before."

"The truth is…

Even I don't understand why I'm reacting like this.

I started the whole thing as a fucking game… and I got way more involved than I should have.

I don't even know how to explain it…"

"No need for explanations.

Just by looking at Smart, I understand you perfectly.

He's truly adorable.

I've never met anyone so sweet, positive, and always smiling.

I'm sure that even if he carried a world of worries on his shoulders, he'd still smile as if nothing were wrong…"

Jin smiled, keeping his eyes on his baby.

"Yeah… that's true.

Sometimes I get scared, because honestly, I can't tell if something's really bothering him.

He'll try to hide it behind his sweetness and that smile of his…"

"Don't worry.

You'll get to know him so well, you'll understand his whole world.

It just takes a little more time." Dex rubbed his back gently.

"I can't believe this… you're giving me advice?"

"Mm, yeah… I'm not made of steel, after all," Dex smiled.

Han stood by the dance floor, giving Jake a deadly glare.

He hadn't liked him from the very first moment.

Jake's arrogant confidence annoyed him, and it all showed on his face.

Meanwhile, Smart could barely wait for the challenge to end so he could run to his Jin.

He read Jin's message and, smiling, slipped his phone into his pocket.

"Let's finish this challenge fast… and not let my Bubu die for the smell of me," Smart thought quietly, filled with satisfaction.

Finally, the moment had come, and the DJ grabbed the mic, his voice booming.

"Are you ready?"

The crowd went wild.

"Yeah!"

After asking a few more times and seeing their excitement, the challenge began.

The first to hit the dance floor was Jake.

He had chosen the rhythm of one of the most popular hits at the moment — it was music from his own group.

As the music started, he danced with his signature modern style.

Jake was an amazing dancer,

but his real power lay in his voice.

Every note left people speechless.

He was truly lucky to be born with a voice like that.

Jake hit the dance floor with moves straight from the song's choreography.

With every step, he got closer to Smart, dancing right up to him.

Several times, he even brushed against his shoulder or back,

sending the crowd into a frenzy.

But this was all part of the dance—and the challenge.

The only one not having fun was Jin.

He was just imagining erasing Jake from this world!

At the end of the dance, Jake's final move

was throwing an arm around Smart's neck and whispering something in his ear.

The entire moment played out on the big screen, keeping everyone's attention locked on it.

Jin's anger was now uncontrollable.

He couldn't hold back any longer and started moving toward them, but Dex stopped him immediately.

"Not the right moment," Dex said, lighting a cigarette for him.

"You can't show yourself like this in public."

Smart simply smiled with irony as Jake's words — your turn, ''cute face" — echoed in his ears.

Then let me show you just how "cute" I can be right now, Smart thought, and without wasting a second, he told the DJ he was ready.

Damn… he was clearly in a hurry.

All the attention was now on Smart as he prepared for his challenge.

Han, Ester, and Alex were nearby, cheering for him.

Jin sat back, a glass of alcohol beside him, a cigarette never leaving his lips..

Dex sat next to him, his eyes fixed on Smart, waiting impatiently.

The DJ dropped the track, and the moment Dex heard it, he jumped to his feet, cheering.

"Fuck—this is my beat, my track!" Dex said, excited, turning to Jin.

Jin smiled slightly, watching Dex's reaction.

Smart took his usual confident, sexy stance.

His smile faded, and his gaze turned sharp.

"Woah… what's going on?

What is that stance—so deadly… so cool?

Is that really Smart, or am I going blind?" Dex said, stunned.

"It's him. Now stop shouting—you'll draw attention," Jin said.

Smart started dancing, and everyone began cheering for him.

His movements were so smooth, so perfect, that even Jake—watching him up close for the first time—couldn't help but admire him.

Smart's expression shifted with every move, every beat.

It was like he poured his entire soul into that dance, driving everyone crazy over him.

The dance ended, and everyone was left amazed, their applause not stopping.

Dex was almost left speechless.

"Jin… your Smart is… I don't even know how to say it… he hits so different."

"I know…" Jin said under his breath,

sounding almost desperate instead of proud of his boyfriend.

Smart was now the winner of the challenge, and Jake applauded him more than anyone else.

Smart apologized for making him lose,

but Jake just smiled and said,

"Don't feel bad… there will come a time when you'll make it up to me—by becoming part of our team," he whispered calmly.

"Then… see you on audition day," Smart said with a smile, his eyes already scanning the place, looking for Han.

"Want to grab a drink?" Jake asked without wasting a second.

At that moment, Smart felt a little awkward. He didn't really know how to turn him down.

He thought it might come off as rude if he refused.

Jin was watching every little move in that exchange.

He could clearly tell that Jake wanted to keep Smart close, within his reach.

What the hell is this feeling that's taking my breath away?

Why do I feel like I'm about to explode?

Smart… don't mess this up, please, he murmured silently, his chest tightening with a heavy pressure.

Right at that moment, Han came running straight toward Smart and, like always, threw himself into his arms, wrapping his legs tightly around Smart's waist as he shouted,

"Oh my God, you're the best!

I love you so much!! I love youuuu!"

Jake froze the second he heard those words.

That beautiful smile on his face almost stiffened in place.

"Finally… you showed up at the perfect moment," Smart whispered softly into his ear, a hint of surprise in his voice.

"Well, of course I did! How could I not?" Han replied, completely clueless about what Smart was even talking about.

"Jake," Smart said, "I need to take Han home.

He's drunk… you can see that yourself."

"Who's drunk?" Han lifted his head immediately. "Me?" he asked, sounding surprised—but Smart placed his hand behind his neck, gripping it firmly to make him stop.

Han got it right away and immediately started acting drunk, moving and reacting like he really was.

He let his body go loose, his weight falling against Smart.

"Ah, okay," Jake said.

"Do you want me to drive you home?"

"No, no—thanks. We'll grab a taxi.

And… sorry about earlier, maybe we'll hang out another time," Smart said, and then left, carrying Han in his arms.

On the way out, Smart gave Han a sharp smack on the ass.

"Don't make your body so heavy," he ordered.

Han smiled, taking advantage of the moment to act like a spoiled little kid.

"Ohh Dex You're right, ,,what a spoiled kid," Smart teased, nudging him.

The second Han heard that, he snapped out of it and lightly swatted Smart's back.

"Don't bring up that tattooed man right now—you're messing up my whole mood!"

"Okay, okay… get down from my body and walk on your own," Smart said.

"Nooo—I don't want to! Keep holding me," Han whined, acting spoiled.

"Jake is watching us," he added with a playful grin.

Dex couldn't hold himself back.

He kept smiling non-stop as he watched the two of them like that.

"Do they look so freaking cute?" he asked.

"Hmm… yeah, they do.

But damn—do you think they're going to the Viewpoint?"

"You think so?" Dex asked.

"Maybe… I don't know! Smart is unreadable…"

"It's better if we head to the Viewpoint now!"

Jin and Dex rushed out, taking the VIP exit of the pub, and set off immediately toward the Viewpoint.

The car sped along like it was taking part in some important race.

✧ — ✧ — ✧

"This was so much fun!

Did you see Jake's face? How it twisted?

Ah, I had so much fun in that moment!" Han said, practically bouncing with excitement.

Smart smiled and lightly tapped him on the back of the neck.

"Sit properly now. Behave yourself."

"Do we really have to go there?" Han asked, his expression changing instantly, as if carrying a deep sadness.

"I'll see Dex's face again… oh, what a disaster."

"Hmm… since it's such a disaster for you, I'll take you home first, then I'll go there on my own.

Simple as that."

Han thought Smart would at least try to convince him a little—but the opposite happened, catching him completely off guard.

The truth was, he actually wanted to go.

He paused for a moment, then started talking as if his presence there was absolutely necessary.

"What are you saying? What am I supposed to do at home alone?

Especially after you ruined things for me with that girl!

I'm coming with you!

I'm not letting you go alone.

You know the night can be dangerous…

If anything happens to you, Jin will send me straight to the afterlife."

Smart leaned in closer and whispered,

"Why? Are you going to protect me?"

"Of course I am!

Don't you know me?

I'm good at boxing—I can take on a few guys at once," Han said, clenching his fists like he was ready to fight.

Smart looked him straight in the eyes and raised an eyebrow.

"Hmm… admit it—you want to come.

Or maybe you just like being around that tattooed man…?"

"Being around him? My ass," Han shot back immediately, glaring at him.

"Okay, okay… I won't tease you anymore," Smart said.

"But be careful what you say when we get there.

If Jin asks, just tell him we were at home. That's it—don't say anything more."

"We smell like alcohol and cigarettes," Han pointed out.

"He'll definitely notice."

"Hmm… you're right.

Nothing gets past Jin.

Then if we tell him we were drinking at home… will he believe us?"

"Maybe…

We can say we had a little party at home," Han said, giving him a playful wink.

Smart immediately gave him a light tap on the head.

"A 'mini party,' huh?

What kind of idea is that? You want Jin to start thinking nonsense?

You know how his mind works… and how possessive he is."

"Now that I think about it… you're right.

He might actually kill both of us… and bury us somewhere no one would ever find us!"

Han shivered all over, as if he was really living through those thoughts.

"Han—stop with those ideas for a second.

Otherwise, it won't be Jin who kills you… it'll be me," Smart warned.

"We'll just say we had a drink at home while watching a movie. That's it.

That's normal, right?" Smart said, shrugging as if he was trying to convince himself too.

"Okay then… that's what we'll say," Han agreed.

"I just hope he doesn't throw us off the top floor of the Viewpoint…" he added, his voice dropping slightly.

"Come on, get in the taxi now.

Let's go.

Just don't talk too much—leave it to me.

If Jin asks you anything off-script, just play dumb, okay?

After all… you play that role pretty well," Smart added with a smirk.

Han frowned.

"Was that a compliment… or an insult?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.

Smart ran his fingers through Han's hair.

"Hmm… a compliment, my baby."

Han felt pampered in that moment and didn't really care whether it was actually a compliment or not.

Jin and Dex had already arrived, sitting across from each other with cigarettes in hand, simply looking into each other's eyes.

Jin's gaze kept drifting toward the entrance, waiting for his Smart to appear.

Minutes passed… and there was still no sign of them.

Jin pulled out his phone and immediately sent a message:

✉️ "What are you doing?"

Smart had just stepped out of the taxi, and when he read the message, he decided to play a little game and replied:

✉️ "In bed… trying to sleep while thinking about you."

Jin had his phone in hand when he saw it:

✉️ "Okay babe… good night. Miss u."

"Are they coming?" Dex asked immediately.

"Smart just told me he's going to bed.

Looks like they went home,

"Now let's have some fun—no worries," Dex said, filling his glass with alcohol.

Jin frowned.

"Speak for yourself! Keep your fun in check… the guys are still here," he said.

Dex noticed and gestured for them to come closer.

They came immediately and both sat down next to Dex, smiling.

*

Smart and Han had entered the Viewpoint!

Smart used the card Jin had given him, which allowed him to move freely in the place.

He could feel his heart pounding as the elevator carried them up.

He placed a hand over his chest and took a deep breath.

What is this feeling?

"It feels like my heart is going to jump right out of my chest," he thought silently.

*

Dex was getting the guys ready for what was about to happen.

He warned them that they should do everything he wanted, and that they just had to follow his lead.

The guys smiled, accepting everything Dex said without question!

At that moment, a tall, extremely attractive girl with almost perfect features approached Jin.

She was a well-known influencer in the country.

She stood for a few seconds, looking Jin straight in the eyes before speaking.

It seemed that this was her way of flirting with guys—staring them down without saying a single word.

By now, Smart and Han were at the entrance of the bar, searching for Jin and Dex.

Their eyes scanned every corner of the place until Smart finally spotted his Jin.

"Damn… what the fuck is he doing?" he muttered, stepping a little closer to them.
