Chapter 355 - Chapter 357: If I Kill Jesus, Can I Become a Saint?

Seeing Gabriel's look of suspicion and surprise, Constantine felt it was perfectly normal, and a hint of smugness flashed through his mind.

"And you call yourself a favorite of God; your information isn't even as up-to-date as a human's," he thought to himself.

Then, Constantine pulled Chas over.

"This boy is the demons' current target. We must protect him!" Constantine said.

"Huh?"

The surprise on Gabriel's face deepened.

Because she could clearly sense that the Chas before her was just an ordinary human without a shred of psychic ability. How could he possibly be a target for demons?

Chas was an Angel sent personally by God; even Gabriel couldn't see through Chas's true identity.

Otherwise, in the original plot, Gabriel wouldn't have killed Chas.

Fang Yuan even suspected that God eventually stripping Gabriel of her angelic status was largely due to her killing someone with her own hands.

Gabriel quickly figured out where the problem lay.

"Balthazar!" she cursed loudly in her heart.

"That idiot demon, just capturing a psychic, and he couldn't even handle such a small matter, letting the plan be discovered!"

"If I hadn't hidden myself deeply enough, I might have been exposed too!"

Fortunately, Constantine coming to find her let her know where the oversight in the plan was.

"We?"

Gabriel shook her head.

"Not we. Only you."

Constantine frowned deeply. "Demons are about to take over the World, and you in Heaven don't care?"

"Without the Father's decree, Angels never interfere in human affairs," Gabriel replied righteously. "If the human World is truly occupied by Mammon, then that is your destiny."

Constantine was extremely disappointed in Gabriel.

"I guess I was right before; you really are a bastard half-breed," Constantine cursed.

Chas, standing nearby, was shocked. He didn't expect Constantine to dare say such things to an Angel.

His eyes looking at Constantine were suddenly filled with stars. For some reason, hearing Constantine curse Gabriel like that felt incredibly satisfying.

Gabriel's face also turned cold. If this weren't a church, she would have shown Constantine the meaning of an Archangel's majesty.

But she wasn't in a hurry. Once Constantine left the church, she would have plenty of opportunities to deal with this foul-mouthed jerk.

Constantine turned and left in a huff. Seeing this, Chas made a face at Gabriel and followed him out of the church.

They quickly regrouped with Fang Yuan and the others.

"I found it, it's definitely Mammon!" Beeman said excitedly. "And besides a psychic, Mammon needs one more condition to descend!"

"A high demon like him needs the power of God to break through the blockade and come to the mortal realm!"

"God?" Constantine felt a bit of relief.

Even though Gabriel was a jerk, God would surely not allow Mammon to come to the mortal realm, let alone provide help.

But then Fang Yuan's voice rang out: "God won't help Mammon, but don't forget that God left behind many treasures, like the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail, and so on. Those things all contain God's power!"

Constantine's expression became tense again.

"Fang is right. Mammon isn't an idiot; he must have a clear plan to be looking for a psychic!"

"Then we must find the location of these treasures to stop Mammon!" Fang Yuan said.

He chuckled inwardly: "Since you agree, then hurry up and help me find these treasures!"

He intentionally directed Constantine's attention toward these legendary treasures of God, naturally wanting to see if he could take the opportunity to snag some for free.

But Constantine suddenly had a stroke of insight and pulled a hand-drawn sketch from his pocket. "Wait, when I was exorcising a girl recently, I found she drew this while possessed by a demon."

On the paper was the tip of a spear.

"How about the blood of God's only begotten son?" Constantine asked.

"The lance of longinus?" Beeman immediately named the spear in the drawing, causing Fang Yuan's plan to fall through.

The lance of longinus was very famous; it was the weapon of the Roman soldier Longinus. When Jesus died, Longinus was ordered to pierce Jesus's body with this spear to determine if he was dead. After that, this spear stained with the blood of Jesus became a holy relic of the Church.

Of course, Fang Yuan didn't quite understand the logic behind it. A spear that wounded or even possibly killed Jesus became a holy relic? If he traveled back in time and killed Jesus, would he also become a saint of the Church?

Truly strange foreigners.

Back to the point, since Constantine and the others had found their target, they naturally wouldn't go looking for other treasures of God.

"The old fox is indeed an old fox, giving hints long ago."

"Claiming not to interfere in mortal affairs, yet sending an Angel to the protagonist's side and giving a bunch of hints that just happen to be discovered. It turns out the only one truly following the rules is Satan, that sucker."

Fang Yuan complained in his heart.

Afterward, the group moved to Constantine's residence.

"This house has protective runes everywhere. Those demons possessing humans definitely can't break in!" Constantine said confidently.

Only Fang Yuan understood the subtext.

Right, protects against demons but not Angels.

But he didn't give a reminder; anyway, with the backup plan of killing Constantine to summon Satan, Fang Yuan couldn't lose this game no matter how he played.

Constantine: "???"

So everyone found a place to rest. At the request of Isabel and Angela, Fang Yuan specifically set up a scent-blocking spell where they slept, lest they wake up smelling like Constantine's cigarettes.

Constantine had the mindset that since he was going to die anyway, he might as well smoke while he still had the chance. Before, it might have been thirty cigarettes a day; now, he had doubled it to sixty.

While everyone was asleep, Fang Yuan left a clone as usual and went outside.

Balthazar had sent him a message, saying he had gotten in touch with Mammon.

"Master Mammon agrees to meet with you, but he cannot descend to the mortal realm, so he needs you to go to Hell," Balthazar said.

Fang Yuan wasn't in a hurry to respond, instead asking teasingly: "Master Mammon? If I recall correctly, you just said you were going to work for me?"

Cold sweat immediately broke out on Balthazar's forehead.

He had gotten a bit carried away after communicating with his boss and feeling safe.

"I'm sorry!" he apologized decisively.

Fang Yuan didn't dwell on it too much; it was just a warning.

No one looks for loyalty from a demon. For a demon, having a bunch of Masters is normal.

"Open the door!" Fang Yuan said directly.

He decided to take a trip to Hell.

If things went well, he might actually find himself another partner.

Of course, if Mammon didn't know his place, he shouldn't blame Fang Yuan for letting Satan loose.
