Chapter 353 - Chapter 355: Constantine: I'll Get a Dog in the Future

Facing Fang Yuan's half-smiling expression, Constantine was extremely nervous, fearing that Fang Yuan would strike him down with a bolt of lightning in the next second.

But fortunately, Fang Yuan also nodded: "That's right, Chas is very critical."

Constantine breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that Fang Yuan probably didn't plan to kill him.

However, Fang Yuan wasn't talking nonsense; Chas really was very critical.

Because he was an Angel sent to the mortal world by God, hidden by Constantine's side.

It was just that even Chas himself didn't know this. In the original plot, it was only after his Death, when everything had settled, that Chas was summoned back to Heaven by God.

He heard that later on, he went off to play with the Autobots.

Even Gabriel hadn't seen through Chas's identity as an Angel; otherwise, even if she had ten times the courage, she wouldn't have dared to kill an Angel.

Gabriel only wanted to test humanity, not betray Heaven.

"I knew it!" Chas was very excited; as a human, he was a very immature, chuunibyou-like young man.

"John, are you feeling threatened?" Chas looked at Constantine with certainty. "You're worried I'll replace you and become a legendary exorcist in the future, aren't you?"

Constantine sighed; he still didn't quite want to believe that the demon was interested in this silly kid.

However, the demon was attacking from a direction where there were only the two of them and a car. The demon wouldn't choose him, so if it wasn't Chas, could it really be the taxi?

"How is Mammon going to descend?" Constantine quickly changed the subject and asked.

Fang Yuan shot back with a question: "You're the local exorcist, and you're asking me?"

Constantine looked at Isabel again, but Isabel had already received instructions from Fang Yuan and only gave one piece of information: "Chapter 17 of the First Book of Goblins, I sensed this."

"The First Book of Goblins doesn't have a Chapter 17!" Chas immediately raised his hand and said.

Constantine was surprised: "You actually know that?"

"Even if I can't go to the battlefield yet, I have to be prepared for battle first." Chas shrugged.

This actually made Constantine look at him in a slightly new light.

"It's true it's not in the Bible," Constantine explained, "but it is in the Hell Bible."

"There's a Bible in Hell too?" Both Chas and Angela were very confused.

But Fang Yuan wanted to say they were being too narrow-minded; he had known about the Hell Bible since he was in his teens.

Ah, no, Fang Yuan suddenly remembered he had it wrong; what he had seen was called the Bible Black... anyway, none of them were decent.

"I don't have the Hell Bible on me, but I know who does!" Constantine immediately thought of his friend Beeman, who specialized in providing him with various equipment and props.

However, the first person he called was someone else.

"Hennessy, that investigation into demonic anomalies I asked you to do? Stop it immediately, no need to check anymore!" Constantine's tone was somewhat urgent.

Hennessy was a chubby priest and one of Constantine's few friends.

During a recent exorcism, he discovered that demon soldiers had actually smuggled themselves into the human world. You should know that this was strictly forbidden by Satan, so Constantine had asked Hennessy to help investigate.

After learning the truth, he immediately realized that if Hennessy continued to investigate, he would easily be silenced by the demons.

In the original plot, Hennessy, Beeman, and even Chas all died because they helped Constantine with his investigations and actions.

As mentioned before, this Constantine was not a scumbag who intentionally screwed over his teammates, so he hurried to warn his friend.

It just seemed to be too late: "John? I was just about to call you. I found out that a patient named Isabel at Ravenscar Mental Hospital suddenly disappeared. She's likely related to the demon you're investigating."

"Oh no!"

Constantine immediately realized that Hennessy had likely already been targeted by the demons!

"Where are you?"

After clarifying Hennessy's location, he hurriedly had Chas drive, preparing to rush over and save him.

"You guys aren't getting in the car?" Constantine turned and asked.

"I'm driving this."

Fang Yuan waved his hand and released a Ford Mustang Boss 429 from the Sling Ring storage space—the same one John Wick drove in John Wick.

"Whoa, I'm going to get one of those in the future!" Constantine took a liking to the car at first sight and said immediately.

"Of course, and you can get a dog too," Fang Yuan replied with a smile.

They quickly arrived at Hennessy's location, only to find that Hennessy had already fallen victim.

He was in a convenience store frantically pouring alcohol down his throat, but he would only take one sip of each bottle before throwing it down, shouting that he was thirsty as if he hadn't drunk anything at all.

In reality, he had already filled his stomach with alcohol.

"It seems the drinks in this convenience store don't have the flavor your friend likes," Fang Yuan said, shaking his head.

Constantine looked at him in surprise: "Are you serious?"

He saw it instantly; Hennessy was clearly cursed.

Constantine rushed over to forcibly hold Hennessy, preventing him from continuing to pour alcohol down his throat. Then he pulled a cross from his jacket, pressed it against Hennessy's forehead, and began reciting verses from the Bible.

After a good while, Hennessy finally calmed down.

He forced himself to stay conscious, dipped his finger in some water to draw a symbol in Constantine's palm, and then collapsed limply.

Constantine looked and saw it was none other than the mark of the demon Mammon!

"Hennessy..." He sighed heavily, knowing this was a clue his friend had found at the risk of his life.

Even though he already knew, he had to acknowledge this gesture.

"Angela has already called an ambulance." Fang Yuan walked in and patted Constantine's shoulder to comfort him. "Don't worry, his alcohol poisoning isn't too severe. He'll be fine after a few days in the hospital."

Constantine then breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thanks!"

He felt very fortunate.

Although Fang Yuan's way of speaking was a bit unconventional, his actions were very reliable.

This also allowed Constantine to build a basic level of trust in Fang Yuan.

"Making someone mistakenly believe their body is dry and lacking water is definitely a demon's method," he introduced.

"Demons have broken into the human world, so what is Heaven doing?" Fang Yuan suddenly spoke up.

Constantine was immediately reminded.

If demons are crossing the line, I can look for Heaven!

It just so happened that a well-known Angel lived right here in Los Angeles.

"Gabriel!" Constantine said at once. "I'm going to the church."

"By the way, Beeman is at this location. Help me protect him, don't let the demons attack him!"

"No problem!" Fang Yuan agreed enthusiastically, as if he wasn't the one who had maneuvered Constantine into going to Gabriel.

The group went their separate ways, but Fang Yuan only left behind a clone to take Isabel and Angela to Beeman's place.

Meanwhile, Fang Yuan found a man with a face full of arrogance, dressed in a business suit.
